Title: hi just curious and wanting to ask a question.
Post by: Orion12 on September 17, 2017, 03:24:37 AM
hi there i'm fairly new to bitcoin mining. and wanting to ask a question. so I live in canada at the moment where I live electricity is about .11/kw in (USD) been doing a lot of research for the past month or so on miner's and wanting to get into it a bit more beyond my regular gaming pc which currently makes around 1.50-2.50usd/day. so my question is what would you guys recommend for a budget of around 500-800 dollars. don't have the money yet but have to save up for it so time for further research. currently I was thinking possibly a used antminer s7-ln  but can't seem to find them anywhere anymore but haven't asked in the marketplace yet since i don't have the money yet. also I currently don't have to pay for power but i'm thinking if it's a machine that probably uses 100 dollars/month in electricity I would have to tell my landlord so he doesn't get pissed. but if it's like 30-50/month on electricity i won't tell unless he ask's.  so any advice on a new or used machine roughly around that price would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

If you're looking to buy an s7 they aren't that hard to find on bitcointalk or usually eBay. If you aren't paying for power just make sure you don't go nuts with a $500 bill to start or your landlord will freak!

yeah i was thinking about a antminer s7 only reason i was kinda meh about it was electricity. was using this site https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator/bitmain-antminer-s7?e=.11&currency=USD
as a gauge actual Ei Cost then just flat out kw from the wall calculator.

Yeah, power is a killer but 59 bucks is 59 bucks and a lot of education!

Plus you can always resell the S7 if you decide it is not worth the effort.
