It completely depends on what the transaction fee you've chosen. Obviously the lower, the slower; the higher, the faster. Also, you can only cancel transactions with 0 confirmations by simply double spending, sending the bitcoins to yourself with a higher transaction fee (feel free to quote and correct me on this).

For more information on bitcoin transaction fees: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Transaction_fees

We can't cancel the transaction. Bitcoin transactions are now longer for confirmation but perhaps if you add transaction fee it will be faster, I've experienced bitcoin transactions after 12 hours there is only 1 confirmation.

You will have to pay higher fee than your previous tx and wait for your newer transaction to get confirmed first. After it is confirmed, the previous unconfirmed transaction will be rejected by the nodes. This is called Double Spending (https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/4974/what-is-a-double-spend). This method only works for unconfirmed transactions. A transaction, once confirmed, cannot be cancelled at any rate.

Can you post your unconfirmed tx id here ? Someone may accelerate it for you.

Bitcoin network is frustrating most times, and the transaction fee is relatively high. If I want to send money between exchanges cheap and fast, I use either dogecoin or ether, even ripples.

after i sent the btc to him ,he didnt receive it.
So he doesnt receive the coin? or just unconfirmed transaction?
If he doesnt receive, you can check your txid and check his wallet address, maybe some typo when you copy and paste it. If your txid just unconfirmed then i can accelerate it for you.
i want to know how to cancel the transaction
You cant cancel your transaction

Maybe you chose the lowest transaction fee that's why it took to long for you to send the transaction because I did the same thing before and it took around the same hours as you've got when sending btc to another wallet and realized I clicked the most lowest transaction fee.

If you are not rushing into something ahead just ignore the transfer time since blocks are so traffic and confirmation with that thing will be delayed for some matters, And if this one will came up unto you well the best thing you can do is to wait or do some things that can make you busy so that you will not angry for the delays of some transactions ahead.

I feel like the guy wants to scam you for trying to cancel the deal. Not sure though.

But its usually the the transaction fee set was lower. I don't use blockchain, info wallet though but what I know its that its them that set the fee automatically so normally when btc spikes at the time after the transaction the chances of getting confirmation as quick as possible would be slower.

Did you use low fees in sending your bitcoin because if you do then you have to wait for it for a little while. And you can actually trace your transaction if you want to. Don't panic yet there is a solution of everything.

Yeah it is too long time to wait for your exchanges for bitcoins. People often get tired of this lengthy procedure while exchanging their bitcoins for altcoins or local currency. One should be patient while exchanging his/her bitcoins. It will take some time to complete the account verification and exchange process.
