Who's in on this ICON ICO?

Looks interesting.  Being touted as "Korea's ETH / NEO" by Youtubers, but I don't know the validity in that.  ???

ICO starts in 23 hours.  I've been in and out of their Slack.  Communication seems good.  Slack channel is ripe with scammers, and negativity, but nobody really want to explain much of their negativity.

Figured since I don't see much on here, I'd start a thread.

Might throw in for a little ETH.

I've only seen a few people chatting about this.  Who's in?

They have a nice website, nice whitepaper, seems detailed, large telegram group, but not enough talk on other mediums or marketing ads.

I didn't heard of them before. Not much time to investigate. So i will not invest for now. Maybet after hitting on exchanges i will trade.

This ICO announced a last minute KYC implementation, which affected quite many interested investors.

Looks good in my eyes... the KYC addition might be a bummer for some, but I can understand the whish to have something for the regulators...

The KYC announcement is so strange.

I think it is not so professional to announce KYC like that.

I may throw a little of ETH into it.

I'm uncertain when the ICO will take place (well presale).

The timer on their website says more than 14 hours (which is 04:00 AM UTC)
But the website mentions 13:00 + 9 UTC. Guess I have to take the plus 9 hours literally. Which seems weird to me, why not simply mention the time zone your apply.

Yeah, this is pretty wellknown and huipy project. I'm definitely will participate in with some hundred $.

I hope you all got there in time. It got sold out within a couple of hours. I only found them today. Got interested and without much reading decided to go in for some $ / €. Right after that they were sold out already. Next chance to buy is at the exchange.

P.s. I immediately received my ICX in myetherwallet, without KYC.

Apparently you can't sell yet. It is said on Telegram that the ICX is locked untill after the KYC.

Why would anyone buy this at 10x of the ICO price? Lol!

Well... I missed out on this one... These guys sent like 6 emails in a 24 hours period. Their communication was pretty bad. I got much more out of a single medium post than their 6 damn emails.

Didn't think it would all sell out in pre-sale.

Yes. Apparently they are able to lock the tokens. I have been thinking about experimenting by sending some to another myetherwallet. But that will only cost me gas and I'm affraid that somehow some ICX will get lost. Besides that I don't mind the KYC too much. If any one of you wish to experiment; go ahead and inform us about the outcome.  :)

The KYC will start at 2 October. They are not yet disclosing where ICX will appear first. I also don't know when.

What should I do next? How can I prove my identity? How can I get my ICON tokens?

First impressions: impressive looks. Daring to compare themselves to ETH and BANCOR. And... did I just read correctly that the ICO is over? Was this another quickfire ICO sold out in 2 days?

First time I heard of ICON, but it's not surprising since it's so difficult to keep track nowadays. The only thing now is that when I heard of NEO as the Chinese ETH, I dismissed it... and slowly regretted it. If ICON is truly Korea's NEO, I might live to regret it. But would rather miss it then fall for a FOMO trap.

First of all; I don't think that the developers come here. At least I have not been spotting them. I did encounter them on Telegram.

Now about your tokens. They have already been sent to your wallet. Did you pay with myetherwallet? I hope you bought your tokens with an ERC20 wallet. Well suppose you used myetherwallet. You need to add the ICX token. For this you click 'Ad Custom Token'. Then you fill in:

symbol : ICX
decimals : 18

Now your ICX will show.

At the moment your ICX's however are still locked. To unlock them you need to follow the KYC procedure. That procedure will start on 2 October. If all is well they will email you (I suppose). So untill the 2nd of October we don't need to, and can't, do much with our tokens.

Good that you bought for almost an entire ETH. I had less to spend.  :)

Let's wait the time proves this token is good or not if you did not invest your money to it. I also do not spend my money to invest into ICON token, but in my opinion, it will have a big volume after listed on exchange :)

Nice project. It is quite sad that I have missed it . I can not believe that their ICO has already finished less than 2 days. I should have been working on analyzing ICO instead of going out for my business. I might earn a huge amount of money

Meh.  Why would they use photoshop to falsify an image at a supposed meeting?  Plus, hard to trust Koreans.  I know from many bad business experiences.

As much as I learned, it was already closed. It's over fast. ico is great success, it is need  to congratulate. Honestly, I did not think that it would end in such a short time.

I haven't heard much about this ICO except it got sold out in a few minutes. But how will they do KYC after the ICO? And what if somebody got rejected on KYC?  Will they refund the investment or will it go their pockets. This is something wired. They are completely ignoring the KYC concept. So hard to trust someone these days.

I saw some body posting about South Korea banning ICO. Is ICON ICO still valid?

I knew that the Kyc would be after Ico so it was a personal choice. and Yes, I read that they will refund automatically all people that don't pass or don't send KYC.

I can't log into my Icon account. I have tried resetting password but I don't get password reset email sent to me.

I complete the KYC procedure a few minutes ago. I have a lot of doubts about  sending the photo without using photoshop.
I would like to understand if they can ask more photos if something goes wrong?

They are actually requesting to use Photoshop to cover some data on your passport. It is compulsory. I hope you read it.

The asked us not to use photoshop but only fingers or somethig to hide the unique number on the passport.

It looks like it has potential. The whitepaper is detailed, the groups are pretty helpful, and their website and team look legit.
It's worth looking into, but personally, I don't really buy into ICOs. I'm happy with my ether as ether :)

I dont think ICON will drop below ICO price. It's got a good product and a team from an existing billion dollar company. Check their parent company Dayli.

The world is full of scammers and fudders. You must live with it.

Project seems fine to me although need to research a little deeper.

I think by now the team should be talking about exchange listings, this ICO is talking longer than should be expected and also the KYC would have been outsourced for faster confirmations

That right there is some positive thinking on your part. You do know that most coins that release have a period where the price goes below the ICO price?

Most ico goes below the Ico price because of the huge bonus given to early investors. Sometimes the is also Pre-Ico.
So the point is that maybe what is under Ico for me is not under ico for other people! They can dump but they still have a positive profit!
