Windows 7 enterprise. Five 7850's. 5th card does not show up in GPU-Z. What is the basic advice in this situation? What is the basic advice in this situation? That could be windows not seeing the 5th gpu. I did hear it is a windows issue that it's only able to see 4 gpus. Try seeing amount of devices on linux? Hey, I am setting up my first rig on Ubuntu and I haven't been able to fit 5 GPUs on my motherboard, but 4 works perfectly :) maybe you should give Ubuntu a shot and see if it works for you. Some claim that Windows 7 can handle 5 GPU. Change to Windows 8 or Linux would take a while. I guess I can also try different slots for the 1x adapters. This motherboard has 4 1x slots and 3 16x. I do have an ivy bridge cpu so in theory even 7 GPU is possible. Title: Re: 5th GPU not showing up Post by: BigJim on May 30, 2013, 10:36:12 AM Disabled 1 or 2 peripherals in the BIOS. Not much available. And no change. Still only 4 GPUs. According to GPU-Z. And the device manager has one Unknown Device.

Every motherboard has its own settings. Also I recommend you to try to set up a Linux miner as it is far more stable and easier to work with. I only use windows for testing max clocks and bios flashing.

But I can get any 3 of them to work. All are on 1x to 16x extenders. Which linux distro? Are there any that "just work". That support more recent motherboards. And can easily get the AMD drivers. Title: Re: 5th GPU not showing up for work Post by: dimke_yu on May 30, 2013, 12:24:57 PM Well as for linux part there are number of distros that work well, only all-in-one solution is BAMT but I do not like it as it is live version. I use CentOS on 16GB usb flashdisk with minimal install options. From there you need to download all dependencies drivers and stuff install then configure it. If you have some linux knowledge and experience it should not be problem to make it work.
