i think The reason there’s evil in the world is not because of God, but because God gave us the freedom to choose. Now the potential for love outweighs the existence of evil, because you see, evil is only going to exist for a short time, but love is going to go on forever. And all of the suffering and all of the death that we see in the world today are the result because man has chosen to make wrong choices.

so what is  you clarification on that question ?

Why is there Evil? Because there are people who call certain things evil. If these things weren't done they would call something else evil.

There are people who do things without considering the bigger picture and the full consequence of their actions. Then there are people who aren't born like the rest of us and want something else in life that would make most of us sad. But that is the diversity for you, you get a bit of everything, a bit of good, a bit of bad, a bit of horrible, a bit of amazing and so on.

Evil does only exist for the short time, but then some new evil is born, in whichever way you want to see this.

Evil is the destruction or stamping out of life that is so repulsive that we want to run for protection before confronting it. Yet its curious power is that when we shield our eyes, cover our ears, and keep silent, we participate in it.

I think it's high time that we stop blaming the devil for all the evil that happens in the world. The heart of man is where we can find all the wickedness in the world. Man is naturally inclined to commit evil all the time.

Man in general is a strange creature. It would seem, why all these wars? Sit down and make arrangements. Is it really impossible to find a consensus? People are the most cunning and greedy creatures on this planet.

There is evil in the world, maybe because human in nature has no contentment, they keep on looking for more. When their wants cannot be achieved legally or in a right way, they will do it in a wrong way, so the evil in themselves comes out and do the evil things like killing, robbery, rape and other things.

Sometimes I read the news and I feel powerless. There are hundreds of people leaving home to join the radical militant groups every week. What can we even do in the face of such situations? Yes I know how you feel, I feel the same way too. We can start with a small and simple thing. For example : smile to other people, help them, always be positive to anyone, plant a tree, pray, social service, and the most important thing is... we should change ourself to a better person. You must understand that, a lot of people want to change the world, but only few that want to change themself.

As what Einstein said, "cold does not exist, its just the absence of heat, as well as evil, it doesn't exist, its just the absence of God." People do evil things because God is not in them. They know the truth that there is a God, they know the truth that God does not want evil, but they choose to ignore Him, They choose to close their eyes and ears so they can continue to do evil. People know what evil is, they know that what they are doing is evil, but still they choose to do it because God is not with them.

I think the existence of evil is to examine us whether we do what is commanded to us and we avoid to do what is forbidden based on our religion.

There has and always will be evil. The battle for liberty and freedom is eternal and ever lasting. The best we can do is rise each and everyday, fight it back and go on to battle it the next day. Anything less would be a complete disrespect to those who came before us and those who will come after.

Evil is existing because they came here to test us. They are the Lord's enemy. They test everyone for us to know what path should we choose. They even tested Jesus before. I believe that they are around for many reasons. They tease us to do bad things because they are happy to destroy us. Evil is just a point of view, we define as evil what we don't like. For example we don't like to die, so whatever might kill us is evil for us. But nevertheless, in the end we will all die. What is freewill? Could freewill exist if there was no evil? Evil is a choice, and it is the opposite of good.
Evil is necessary,  just as good is. Love is no different from hate, but two extremes, one directly opposite of the other. Love will never conquer over hate. Good will never triumph over evil. One simply could not exist without the other. If love were to conquer evil, there would be a serious imbalance within the natural order of reality.

My question for you, OP...
   Define God! Do you mean a bearded man in the sky, who grants magical wishes to the blindly faithful?
Do you mean an omnipresent,  omnipotence that is beyond our space and time? Or perhaps you're refering to a creator deity, who supposedly fashioned our life out of it's (male/female/etc) own image?

I don't believe it's because of God, there is always an option on our actions but people do something based on their feelings, experience affects someone's thinking as well, greed and power is the root of evil I believe. Evil exist to balance world. Think about it this way, how can we determine the if someone is good or bad without knowing what it is. Without comparison, we won't have knowledge about things. A good example would be on how a person looks like, we can't determine if a person is beautiful if we don't know what ugly is. :-) People will always make wrong choices and it will only be EVIL if we keep on doing it. I have read an article and it convince me that most evil is done by good people who do not know that they are not good.

God did not create evil,  in fact He create everything and it was good. He gave us free will and what we sometimes choose, evil instead of good because of the increase of wickedness the love of many become cold.. and so because of these we see the world as full of evil things instead of good.

There is no shadow without light, and black without white. Balance, contrast. No one will see good without evil, and vice versa.

Evil exist to create balance in this world. How can we say that someone is a good person without us knowing what a bad person is. Evil exist everywhere. It is up to the person to resist the temptation. The sad thing was a lot of "good people" are just playing an act and does a lot of bad things at the background. There are a lot of people who doesn't miss a Sunday mass at Church but doesn't seem to know what good or bad is. What I noticed is that the people working at Church likes to gossip about other peoples lives. Shame.

There is an evil in the world because satan is there, he brings sorrow, distress or calamity, sufferings, misfortune and wrong doing. The evil is the fallen angel from heaven downcast into the world, he is the proponent of rebellion. If there is rebellion rebellion there is an evil. The presence of evil is the result of pride and greediness.

People want to achieve their dreams and aims by any means and hence they resort to do evil . Even if they think their actions are not evil, their judgment is clouded for what they wish to achieve and hence wont accept it as evil.

Evil exist because there are people who were not fortunate to live in a community were love exist. Imagine anvillage of terrorist. Their children will most likely become terrorists because they have been brainwashed since they were a child. They were fighting for something that their parents started. Also there are people who were weak in mind, they always go with the flow even if it leads to bad things.

The best answer I can give is: God does not want a race of robots who have no free will. God allows the possibility of evil so that we may choose to worship God or not.

Evilness came about Jealousy .This is so because Lucifer by name Satan this days was one of the most high priest among the Angels in heaven .it came to a time that he convinced some of these Angels to attack the almighty king in heaven and he was thrown to this  ending land . I do agree that there is evil because the Lord gave us the free will. God didn't want to force himself on his people, He wants us to come to him freely so He gave us the free will to choose. And with that, some people chose the wrong side and do evil.

Evil is proof there is no all powerful god.  A perfect god would create creatures that could not do evil.

You have a point on this things mate, it is true that we are free to do our will and free will for each human dind't interfere by God, instead He gave us freedom to choose meaning you ae definitely correct. But most people they chose to do evil things instead of doing good things to others.

The evil is hidden in the uneducated selfish people who has no humanity in them, it is hidden in those who are ready to start a war for assets.

Why is there evil in the world? The world is full of evil doers that perpetrate evil. We must b contious of them. Some of those not understand peace only violence they know.

Evil exist in this world because of hatred and revenge and by human doing. We have the freedom to choose on what path the good or bad, This is what it means to grow in our humanity, to grow in our capacity to forgive and to love. Prayers are essential to overcome devil. if everything is perfect, then we will be just robots. We would not just be wrong but we couldn't make a mistake. Evil must exist if there is a choice.

I think there is evil because people choose to do wrong doings instead of doing the right thing and i think it is because it is easier to do wrong things and in no particular reason, it gives people happiness that he/she only feels when he/she do wrong doings. People think it's fun to be evil which is not right because he/she may suffer the consequences of his/her actions.

There was no evil in the life of man from the beginning but man is created with freedom. This freedom is the greatest gift from the Lord than abused. I think every man is naturally evil, the challenge in life is to fight the evil within us. Evil started when Lucifer rebel against God. Lucifer want to be God and be worship as God. That's why satan wants all mankind to know him and follow him. He will do everything to get the  attention of people. He will confuse you,  he will draw your attention to earthly things so that you may not feel that there is God. Generally speaking, any evil or suffering experienced in life is the exception and not the rule. illness is relatively short-lived in comparison to good health as are earthquakes in comparison to the age of the earth. Moreover, just because our intellectual capacity is limited and we can't evaluate what the wisdom is, doesn't mean it isn't there. for instance, in some cases, sickness results in the build up of immunity, earthquakes relieve pent up pressures within the earth, volcanoes spew out minerals resulting in rich fertile soil for agriculture. There is an ancient wisdom that states "Out of the snakes poison" comes the antidote" how else can one appreciate goodness without having experienced hardship to use as a comparator? would it be possible to appreciate good health if illness did not occur?

There is Evil in the world because of Satan and because of man's nature and evil has a tendency to multiply itself. The more evil men there are, the more society as a whole begins to take on an evil nature. If God did not give men the chance to be evil, there would be no freedom.

I'm not going to say that i knownevem an iota of information about why evil exists in the world. Maybe becaise it's too much information to actually process or it's too much of an existential issue to begin with. But i do think nature exists in a balance. light-dark, birth-death, calm-violent, and so on. These exists as a counter balance to the other. When one is absent, we don't appreciate the one that stays. Again, maybe im blowing smoke out of my ass, but that is what i think.

Your right , God give us choice . If you read the book of Job in the bible it has a story that Jesus Give him everything as in everything. But then , Jesus says to devil , Okey devil try to convice him , try to get all of they money , Children etc . And then suddenly,  it will happen . But Job is still have faith in the Lord .

Even though his wife ask about God , if its real ? And if God really exist then why it happen to their lives. They lost everything and they are nothing. But Job is still faithful .

God could have made a world with no evil in it. Love is possible only for free moral creatures. And free moral creatures are capable of free choices that could bring disease, desaster and death. In other word there is freedom for everyone a capability of doing good or evil. This is why evil exist in this world.

Without God moral law we would not even know what evil really is . Evil really exist  in a his world but existence of evil does not eliminate God.
