Just want to see statistic of ICO. To think if ICO is good to invest. Or better to buy coins later after appearing in exchanges.

I took highest (more than 5-10 millions) ICO in periods 1, 3, 6, 12 month and compared how much price changing on coinmarketcap.
This is my results:

So.
ICO 1 month ago - mostly not in exchanges.
ICO 3 months ago - have statistic that it rising up in 1-1.5 months.
ICO 6 months ago - have different statistic. Almost all rised up.
ICO 1 year ago have long stangnation.

Regalcoin at ICO level is already at $1.20 though yet to make it to the coinmarketcap until October 1. There's much expectations for this coin to soar once it hits the market because of its lending program modelled after the bitconnect template. This should dine well too.

Very interesting. Thanks for putting this together. I wonder if there is an 'easy' way to correlate the jump after an ico. It would make for an easy trade on ipo's.

You'd have to take into account the market in general. A better way of doing this would be:

"Did X rise more than bitcoin during that period of time?" and then try to find data from the last 5 years covering multiple ups and downs (very hard to do since ICO's are a rather new phenomenon).

You could take all coin launches with new innovation (speaking being that whether it was ICO or mined, people still had to invest through exchanges so it's not all that different) and see where they ended up for each year...

The reason why is, coins that came out in 2014-2015 barely did anything and I'm willing to bet the vast majority didn't really rise until late 2016 when ALL coins started rising.

As they say, a rising tide raises all ships. You need to take that into account, because the results will be vastly different depending on what the bitcoin market itself is doing. If all coins are rising, it's not hard to get on board with a new coin... if all coins are falling though, people won't be buying.

There's not enough data to make a true call on this sadly, but nice work man :)

Thanks for this mate. ICO is really good when you just have budget  for investment, but some coins that you can earn in their bounty campaigns is also good. I much really appreciated your post, I'm following this post for more update or any suggestion of yours what ICO now is good for long term or future, like coins that you included in your post. My thought that there are some projects that gives a good chart for us, but the icostats already provided all the time chart for everycrypto. But thanks for this good thread and i appreciate that.

Kudos for spending time and doing this. ICO mania as we know it has probably ended, from now on it is going to be really hard to pick a project that is going to trade above ICO price (in a short run).

Good job. The above statistics show that the initial coins have a general tendency to first increase slightly in price, then their rate falls and recovers with a different increase in the rate. In general, the trend is good. This suggests that you either need to discard new coins if necessary for the first few days, or already hold them to the accepted rate.

So after 1 month I will post if coin will be in exchanges or not. And then after 2-3 months will check my theory about pumping in 1-2 months!
