AFAIK it is based on the wallet address of the gambling site send to the receiving address of any coinbase account. And it depends if that wallet was enlisted on coinbase server since there are too many gambling sites that pop up these days. Like Primedice, Fortunejack, crypto-games and etc. there are some of the famous gambling sites, so I know coinbase have the addresses used from this platform.

Correct me if I'm wrong since it's only my opinion coz I didn't use coinbase these days and never got banned receiving money from
gambling.

Let's share what I know. Basically, Nature of the blockchain means that the entire ledger is public. It's not hard to track where a transaction is going. I guess, Coinbase employee initiates a transaction to a gambling site, gets the address, adds it to a blacklist.

it is called "chain analysis". the address you send to which belongs to the gambling site is going to go to their cold storage at some point and that makes it easy to associate the address with the gambling site. also you will make a withdrawal at some point and some of these gambling sites will pay from their known addresses or cold storages even and that makes it obvious you got paid from a gambling site.

there are also other types, like those on chain gamblings where you send the payment and if you win they pay from their address which is tagged publicly with their names (like what you see on blockchain.info saying satoshdice here https://blockchain.info/popular-addresses)

Yeah right. This is the website where you can track a gambling address. It contains every addresses on the blockchain. If addresses are in the same wallets, they will connect to each other and this website will reveal everything. You can also see how many addresses that a person are owning with only 1 address.

I think they are just collecting the address from gambling site.  base on what i experience of using coinbase before i am receiving bitcoin from gambling casino but my account are stay alive and never receive any issue from coinbase.. So i think my address is not listed in their blacklisted list..
And i think they are gradually tracking your bitcoin if where your bitcoin from..

So if you really wanted to be safe better to use some mixer before you receive it in your coinbase account. .

They are still locking accounts because just few days back I receive an email from my friend just because of this issue so I also drop idea to use coinbase because now they are not giving trading option to few countries and we can only deposit and withdraw from this wallet

Gambling websites usually mix inputs which means that your deposit address will be used to pay someone else's withdrawal - and when the coin is spent with an address that is known to be owned by a gambling site, that address is also labelled as belonging to whatever site it may be.

This is essentially how coinbase knows that you're sending to a gambling site, probably through the help of services such as walletexplorer.

They are known to freeze accounts that have connections to gambling, so if you are a gambler don't use them.

How exactly i'm not sure. They seem to sometimes not care about people using gambling sites through depositing with their service and sometimes freezing accounts on a daily basis. But i would assume that they are either hiring someone else to do it for them, or just analyzing the activity of your account.

Through what addresses you send btc to they can see whether you are making a deposit to a gambling site or not. Walletexplorer.com has a list of addresses that are owned by a particular company, they may be using that.
