Title: PIVX and zPIV
Post by: loreRex on October 04, 2017, 10:09:53 AM
I guess this is an interesting development for PIVX:

Someone knows something more about this zPIV, how it works, why it's so secure? Apparently it's a kind of PIVX ---> zPIV conversion, but not sure how this is done concretely.

It's a custom implementation of the zero coin protocol http://zerocoin.org/ (http://zerocoin.org/) - I think PIVs get burned for zPivs and then return as new PIVs at the other end.. But not sure and it's still closed source I think, will have to wait until it's pushed onto GitHub.

As I understand it, users will have the option to to convert your PIV into zPIV (zPIV is PIV anonymized with the Zerocoin Protocol) at which point you can spend your zPIV the same as PIV just by sending them to another address.
