Title: POW tokens : Frequently asked questions
Post by: webwakko on October 04, 2017, 01:51:15 PM
A lot of people, including me, have some questions about this new launched token.
Well, here's an overview from their FAQ section.

ALL ABOUT POW 'LITE'

WHAT IS MY POWTOKEN.COM ACCOUNT FOR?
Your POWtoken.com account is for sending and receiving POW 'lite' to and from your friends. Initially we have integrated with Facebook, but will soon roll-out more social media platforms that can be used. All the free allocations of POW 'lite', are simoultaneously represented by a real ERC20 token on the blockchain. These real ERC20 POW tokens are held in a single ETH account on the Ethereum blockchain. Your individual holding of POW 'lite' is kept track of using a centralised database and is 'off-Blockchain'. The POWtoken.com site operates that database and gives you access to your POW 'lite' and the ability to transfer it to friends (currenctly restricted to your Facebook friends, but soon to be including your friends on all the major social media networks).

ARE THERE ANY FEES?
There are zero transaction fees on transfers when you send or receive POW 'lite' between other POWtoken.com account holders. At some point in the future we may introduce a small fee to cover the running costs for the centralised servers. If POWtoken.com proves to be a massive success, the costs of a centralised server could be start to be quite large and will require a small fee to be added to each transaction. This fees would likely be just 1 or 2 cents per transaction which is still a fraction of the costs of making similar transactions on the Blockchain currently.

CAN SOMEBODY SEND ME POW IF WE ARE NOT FACEBOOK FRIENDS?
No, but there is a simple solution - send them a 'Facebook Friend Request' and as soon as they accept, they can log back into POWtoken.com and they will see you have been added to the list of contacts that they can send POW 'lite' to. In the next release we are planning to allow users on POWtoken.com to send POW 'lite' to other account holders who are not their Facebook friends - this will for instance allow you to be paid for service and goods from people who you do not know.

CAN I SEND POW TO A SOMEONE IF WE ARE NOT FACEBOOK FRIENDS?
No, but there is a simple solution - send them a 'Facebook Friend Request' and as soon as they accept , log back into POWtoken.com and you will see they have been added to the list of contacts that you can send POW 'lite' to. In the next release we are planning to allow users on POWtoken.com to send POW 'lite' to other account holders who are not their Facebook friends - this will for instance allow you to pay for service and goods from people who you do not know.

CAN I SELL POW 'LITE' FOR CASH?

Not yet. But our plan is to build a 'bridge' between POW 'lite' and POW ERC20 by December 2017. This bridge will allow you to transfer your POW 'lite' onto the Ethereum Blochain where it will becom POW ERC20. You will then be free to sell your POW ERC20 for cash. So, in the long term, the answer to your question is yes.

WHAT IS POW ERC20?

POW ERC20 is an Ethereum Blochain asset or 'token'. Ethereum is the second largest cryptocurrency on the planet. Ethereum is slightly different to Bitcoin in that it is designed to allow 3rd parties (such as POW) to create 'Tokens' which piggyback on the Ethereum Blockchain. It means that you get all the benefit of a Blockchain, without the need for creating a network of miners to keep the ledger up-to-date. Of course, the miners have to be paid, which is why transaction costs on the Ethereum network are actually quite high. Our innovation is to 'lump' all the users accounts together (rather like a nominee service does for equity holdings) and keep them on a single ETH address (ETH or Ether, is the currency of the Ethereum Blockchain). We then get really creative by issueing the users with POW'lite' which they can trade with other POWtoken.com account holders, with zero transaction fees. The POW'lite' collectively add up to the total number of POW ERC20 being held in the single ETH account designated for this purpose. As we talk about elswhere in these FAQs, the plan is to create a bridge between the POW'lite' world and the POW ERC20 world, by December 2017.

YOUR BALANCE: 1,229,558 POW 'LITE'
(Currently worth: 116.92 USD)

The first public claimant will get 10b POW 'lite'. After each claim, the amount of POW 'lite' that the next user gets is automatically reduced. So by the time you get to the 10th claimant they only get 1billion POW 'lite'. When you get to the 100th claimant they only get 100m POW 'lite' and when you get to the 1000th claimant they only get 10m POW 'lite'. It carries on in that manner.

Cool numbers. You are giving away a million dollars for the first person and a bit less for the next one, carrying on in that manner. What is this worth based on?

Unfortunately I don't use a facebook so couldn't register but send a link to my family member today and he got little more than 700k in tokens. I agree that airdrop is well organized. I did register a facebook account but couldn't participate since my account was created today which I consider a good sign and necessary to prevent fraud.

Seems like a cool token. Got a few million for free. Even if this turns out to be a scam, what do I have to lose? Loving airdrops like this one, DeepOnion, Decred etc. I love how it is possible to make huge profits with zero investment through airdrops.

How many people di they get them until now? Are there still people claiming the airdrop? I'm asking because the more people will claim the POW tokens, the higher the probability that this coin will be successful and valuable.

The initial date was 10th Oct, isn't it ?

I genuinely don't know what the benefits are of doing an airdrop nor do I know where the value comes from. Nevertheless I got myself 300k to test things out. Right now they are worth around 850$, I'm pretty sceptical that I will be able to get 850 for it though. Will see if this will become the easiest 850$ I've ever made.

And recently, i just missed the 2nd round of the airdrop. Hopefully, i can join the next airdrop and i think that this coin will have  better future in the next days to come.

In the long term, the answer to your question is yes but we need a bridge that will allow  to transfer  POW 'lite' onto the Ethereum Blockchain where it will becom POW ERC20.

What is this worth based on?

now im down to 100K Pow. Maybe I'm too late for this. Still, I look forward on what will happen to the future of POW. Goodluck devs!

I'm a nube in crypto world and this is my first Airdrop ever. I was pretty overwhelmed when I claimed less than 100k tokens coz for me, it's already quite a lot. It's normal to feel envious of the early claimers who were able to get millions of free tokens, but I'm already more than fine with the amount I received. Had I known that Airdrops are this awesome, I would have participated in each and every single Airdrop there is. lol

I'm pretty much excited about this token and I'm truly hoping that it'll succeed according to what the developers hope for it to achieve real soon. All my best hopes are with you, POW LITE team.  ;)

More and more holders of POW tokens each day. And every day, the amount of POW that can be claimed is getting smaller. It also affects the price of POW tokens that I see dropped dramatically. For 2,658,867 POW'LITE, it is currently only $ 105. However I hope this will go up when entering the market.

I understood that soon it will be possible to transfer the lite tokens from the twitter accounts to the facebook accounts. In december they will all be converted in ERC-20 tokens and you can transfer them on MEW or wherever.

Maybe we can take a look at this and participate their airdrops if still open for new comers.
Actually POW tokens is now rating a high value in the market and it have capabilities to compete others.

I notice an interesting contraddiction between the adoption base of POW token (last time I've checked it was over 50,000 people) and the shortness of this thread.

Seems to be a few threads here on POW now, but the numbers over 100,000 holders now and think a lot are outside of the general crypto community which is good. The idea launching through FB and now twitter of course was to reach a wider audience than keeping it just to the users of this type of board/community. Still plenty of POW Lite to claim so should see these numbers climbing again,  :)

Bridge to blockchain looking to rollout from 15th January 2018, can already send to FB friends who hold POW lite, after holding poll on twitter majority of holders wanted the bridge facility online first, the rest of transfer abilities will be rolled out after this.

Hi Psyvortex, the devs are hoping to have the bridge to the blockchain online from mid to late January, this is of course dependent on it running smoothly and also securely, after the issues with hacks on exchanges etc, security is a high priority, Thanks

I would like to ask people who are competent in Emercoin (EMC). What type of mining devices it uses (ASICs, CPU or other)? Is it profitable now, and what is the perspective of this coin in future? I know that this coin exists for a long time, has a practical use and i think that it will gain momentum in future.

How can i transfer my pow token from the site to exchange

nice question, on site there are these faq:

Not yet. But our plan is to build a 'bridge' between POW 'lite' and POW ERC20 by Feb 2018. This bridge will allow you to transfer your POW 'lite' onto the Ethereum Blockchain where it will becom POW ERC20. You will then be free to sell your POW ERC20 for cash. So, in the long term, the answer to your question is yes.

Anyway in such case the coin could have a revival now seems no more then 150$ are traded in a day.

Hi, The bridge is on target for the end of February which as explained was the time the delay was until, the tests are going great and test transactions running smoothly and of course of huge importance securely. Community growing well also, over 310,000 claims now, which of course adds massive value to any crypto currency. This is in every sense of the word a shitcoin so far. The only difference between other shitcoins and this is that this is not even a coin yet, just some points collected on a website. I doubt it that they'd ever be on the ethereum network. Despite how easy it is these days to implement a new token there.
Anyone know who are the developers behind this? Was it even wise to type that question in plural form?

Bridge Update

All Dev's working hard, aiming for 28th Feb launch of 'The Bridge'. We may miss it by a few days as we need to make sure is 'bullet proof'. Next step is Rinkeby network test.
Proposed Limits:
Combined (all users): 1bn POW/day;
Individual: 1m POW/day.

On issue of limits. Primarily, security is the concern. The Bridge smart contract holding the "float" for daily transfer from POWtoken to Ethereum network represents max loss in event of "hack". In this worstcase 1bn POW loss would not be lethal.

Technically in this moment this coin is just a record in a database. However, as far as I know in a few days the "bridge" for converting this not-yet-coin into a fully legit ERC-20 token should go live. THEN it may start to become really interesting, because of the very huge adoption base.

we are so close ... As we talk about elswhere in these FAQs, the plan is to create a bridge between the POW'lite' world and the POW ERC20 world, by Feb 2018.
Yes it could be a nice way to link in a real world adoption, and of course they have a strong user basis in South Asia and in some European Countries.
Price it's really cheaper, around 80% down from the maximum but if they create these bridge, a lot of people could sell their token for a cheap price, and a lot of tokens already distributed will not redeemed by no one, just because they haven't any information about decentralized exchange.
Let's see maybe this is another bargain coin like Nano (ex raiblocks :) )

There's no use having a project if you've basically pissed away every ounce of confidence people had in your project with these delays and empty promises.

That's true. If you are not able to keep your promises it is a wise attitude not to make them. Failing to deliver every time at the dates you promise just shows people that you have no clear idea of what you are doing and that you have a very wrong perception of your own capabilities, which clearly is very bad for any project.
