Title: What are good servers for a farm mining Cryptocurrency 2017
Post by: BigBellyMiner on October 04, 2017, 04:09:23 PM
My mate and I are dealing with this question.

We want to start big, not too big just a couple thousands servers and equipment.
We already got a location. (Not free of course)

I heard Bitcoin is pretty hard last years, take months to make couple hundred.
So thinking of alt coins..

The location is not free, so isn't the electricity..
But I see so many different setups,
but at I guess almost all of these farms using same setup over and over again.

What are small - around 50 servers (Bitcoin) farms average earning a day/week?
What are middle - around couple 100 servers (Bitcoin) farms average earning a day/week?
What are big - around 1000 servers (Bitcoin) farms average earning a day/week?

I know u guys can't look into future and depening of lot of aspects,
but I need to know a carefull ~average, so we can calculate it is worthed invest in this project.

Appreciate all help guys.

Regards,

Make up your mind - Bitcoin or Altcoins?
Bitcoin mining has been ASIC-based only for several years now. I highly suggest you start by looking through the Beginners and Help (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0) section and then head over to Mining (Altcoins) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0) area.

Is alt coin the best alternive to invest at this moment?

I just readed a Dutch article about ASICS and it seems its not interesting anymore in Netherlands.
Since energy bill etc. u make lost.
Lots people selling these servers for couple 100 euro on Marktplaats and Ebay.
They paid lot more for it 1000-2000 maybe but need to swollow their lost.

Check out masternode coins / Proof of Stake coins instead, you can run the nodes or wallets on any regular PC with a good internet connection.  For a list of coins check out https://masternodes.pro/ (https://masternodes.pro/)

Hello OP, i also suggest you do what fuzzywarm has suggested. Your question is... seems like you need to do alot more research before you start spending funds to start this mining facility of yours.
There are alot of calculators online to give you a rough estimate of what you can earn. You can easily type in the specs of hardware you are looking to purchase so you can make a smarter decision.
Bitmain currently selling 14th s9 atm. But this is presale for december batch.
Goodluck.

Another option is Nicehash. The idea is you are renting your processing power to others so they can mine coins. You are payed a flat fee in bitcoin for your hashrate that can be better / worse than mining since it is not as probability based.  Also, since nicehash handles the different algorithms you dont have to worry about switching around to different coins as profitability changes. Other nice features is it will lower power consumption if you are using your computer for other things besides mining. Just a thought. Good luck.
