So MonaCoin already went to $4 from $0.40 in the last few days because its now on japans biggest exchange so all japan whales are buying in. Also its the bitcoin of japan so not depending on US/China-Governments. Plus its a technology leader, was first coin to bring segwit.

The devs are workaholics and MonaCoin is a top5 coin within the next 12 months, if Governments like US and China shut down Bitcoin and Cryptos, MonaCoin will get to 1 Million each. HODL!

Governments won't shut down Bitcoin... Even if they wanted to they wouldn't be capable of pulling it off anymore. Based on the chart the coin looks heavily artificially pumped too. Not to mention that your claims are just flatout ludicrous. I'll be happy to stand corrected, but there's no indicator for any sudden increase in value of this coin (which has been flat for years).

Sorry but watch it crash HARD shortly.   It is an obvious pump and dump.

I dont think that it will be at a $1000 price soon. There are better coins out there that will perform better in these priceranges. Something like Ethereum or Zcash is a better one for $1000 soon!

You may have overlooked the fact it just got listed in japans biggest exchange finally. They are well known in japan as they place a lot of ads in TV. Plus other good news like people buying houses with MonaCoin profit. So this means all of japan is hyped for this coin and buying it to hold.


So thats a *4 profit you would maybe have with ETH. It doesnt get me too excited. Do you plan to get rich from this? I am already planning the beach mansion and the sportscars I buy from my MonaCoin profits. Not really possible with a *4 profit unless you invest millions but even here it would make more sense to split it over MonaCoin/Waves and other promising coins.

I cant find anything that justifies such increase within such short period of time. Yes it got listed on Japan's main crypto exchange, but like hadoop mentioned, volume is coming from Bittrex?

There has been quite a bit pump+dump:ing done by bigger players. Unless i'm mistaken, this is their website: https://monacoin.org, and to be honest it looks a bit not on the level for crypto project that has been around since 2013.

Can't agree more. It is a classic case of pump and dump, today it is monacoin, tomorrow another coin etc. . It is never a good sign to see a coin pumping so hard without a real reason, it will fall back very soon.

That's my problem, I see charts like Chaincoin and am always waiting for the other shoe to drop for coins like Monero and Mona. Problem is I could be totally wrong and I could miss out on the spike. Still patiently waiting on the sidelines for the next one.

I've heard of an crypto for India named after an ancient god of wealth I believe that's supposed to ICO soon.

This is usually what happens. If the price of a coin rises that fast it will usually dump to a much lower level. That's not a healthy rise in price, and is considered unusual. Just watch the price and if it starts dropping, think about if you should pivot or not.

I don't think USA and China has the capacity to shot down bitcoin as bitcoin is not a geopolitical area's  money but the universal coin. I will like to know more about this coin as many people on twitter and this forum are saying good things about this great technology. I will try to buy it in days to come as this coin may be another face of altcoins in the future. I have been buying some coin lately and I do believe that monacoin will make one rich in no time. I think that Monacoin does have good Japanese whale support. The chart doesn't look like a straightforward pump and dump to me. I'm thinking buy now. After attention away from BTC forks, and altcoins get some love again, Monacoin will rise back to 6.00. Am investing.

Frankly then you have not done your homework. when MonaCoin was still $0.50 it got praised here a lot. so you missed out on *6 as its now. 600% is only the begin tho as this coin clearly got the potential to be the #2 in the world after bitcoin, so a *100 and more is still possible.

I just wish I knew how to actually sell my MonaCoin because I think the client is still in japanese but i am in it to HODL anyway :P

I just got in as well.  BTC is gonna dump after the forks are complete.  Mona gonna moon. 

It is a risk to trade this coin without any knowledge about it.

The chance is probably very small but what other coin is a nice buffer to CHINA, USA and EU legislation risks? MonaCoin is definitely one of the best for this and also in other areas, so $100 a coin is not that unrealistic.

I'm enthusiastic about japanese projects myself because i know many native japanese people (my wife is japanese so half of my family) and have an idea of how their culture and working environment works.
Good thing is, japanese work until their heads explode in general. The productivity and efficiency is really high usually.
On the other hand, japanese culture is known for the "not losing my face" attitude.
If all goes well and nice, expect it to move pretty fast from one milestone to the next.
But on the other hand, if something goes (terribly) wrong, don't expect to be informed about it (in time). They're not good in admitting mistakes.

As for monacoin, i don't know the details. Just wanted to lighten up about my general thinking.

It was completely unclear whether or not "the whole world will use coins some day". And there is no significant regulation risk either. Cryptos can't be regulated. And even when China announced regulations, nobody gave a shit and Bitcoin kept rising. You haven't raised a single viable point that sets MonaCoin apart from any other coin.

I doubt this will ever happen. BTC is the $ in the crypto economy and will continue to rise due to its popularity, scarcity and difficulty. It's like a mothership of all bosses. Also, there's no way a government can shut it down. They may implement rules ane regulations so to avoid money laundering but never shut down.

No you shouldn't do that being in the top 50 coin in market cap doesn't mean it will be $1k anytime soon , the price purely increased because it got listed on bittrex people did make really good profits but it is a bull market won't remain for long. Bittrex users have already started dumping it , it is currently $3. Just wait for now purchase it during the dip.

Monacoin will never beat LTC, let alone beat ETH or BTC in terms of market caps. Simply no reason for it to, if you think about it. it is a cool project, yes. But is there really such a demand even after the recent rally?

In the US for example how many people out of 100 do you know ( in person) that have/own cryptocurrency ?  for me zero unless I gave them a Satori coin.
In Japan a country that is fully embracing crypto if only 10% of consumers start using MONA in the next year I believe $25 USD is not out of reach. I think conservatively $5 to $7 in November but continued growth threw out 2018 IMO

MONA is a very stable and serious coin. Their creators are Japanese, they are diligent traders and very organized people. The coin is old and has a real world usage. Its info are in Japanese, almost only. Imagine if the project were localized..

Mona will NOT reach $100 much more to say $1000, and even if it does, it will be when all other alts with proper vision and communities have reached far more beyond that.

If you don't know what you've bought it's best to sell during pumps because there's almost always a major correction downward. Keep 20-40% just in case.

All viable coins go up eventually but this is not "$1000" as the OP suggested and not as "soon". ;)

I think up until the Olympics MONA may rise, at least for another year. A lot of people are using it right now in the real world

Hindsight is always 20/20.  Funds for most of us are limited and we invest where we believe it will grow.  We make both right and wrong calls. 

For example, many regret not making profits out of BTC which went x4 over the past 5 months?  They fail to see that there are coins that is making that (and more) now in just a few days!

Opportunities are always here but finding them AND having available funds AND guts to invest...(all 3 must be align) doesn't always happen. :)

Bitcoin is valued *343 times that of Monacoin right now. But MonaCoin is the japanese bitcoin.

So which one is valued too high? Which one got no legal/government issues in the future?

MonaCoin is another rare alternate coin for me but it has a market capital of 799,601,285$ and is at the top 30 digital currencies. That entails that i have not really familiarized all of the digital currencies in cryptoworld due to its enormous number. From 19$ last week, it went down to 14$ today. If it goes down a bit and ends up below 10$, then in my opinion, it's time to invest and i think it's worthy to put your money on it for a long term.

When MonaCoin goes to $1000 what does it matter if you bought for $19, $14 or $10? I was very suprised to see it drop a few cents under $15, I did not expect that to happen.

Also the MonaDevs have been woken up hard from their sleepy dreams because they long thought they were the japanese Bitcoin and now theres Cardano the japanese ETH which is already worth more than they are, so now they have competition and if you research market, competition always drives people to outperform themselves which is one of the reasons why MonaCoin is gaining in value so much and will continue to do so.

it's hard to raise the price up to $1K on this coin, well it's a very strong community with a lag of a high tech Japanese but nevertheless it's still difficult to go up to $1K because there must be many outsiders who also trade this coin, I think few outsiders are taking a chance there.

Bitcoin also was $14 a long time ago. Now Bitcoin is $19 but with three 0s added. But of course it depends on many factors and if trust in Bitcoin stays high, MonaCoin might do some smaller jumps only for now.

Right now it's still just a lot of hype. Just about every single crypto has peaked in the past few weeks, so Monacoin rising is nothing special and doesn't speak for inherent qualities. Whether or not it provides real value will be seen after the bubble pops and most cryptos got razed to the ground.
