$90,000 to $150,000

not Orange! Just about any other colour is fine.

I would like to pay in BTC but will think about cash.

Also open minded of other cars like this but prefer a Lambo.

I drove a Porsche 911 and had to finally get rid of it because of the cost of repairs.

It is not that it is unreliable, it is that the mechanics know you can afford to pay out the a$$. And they are few and far between in a small town with not many Porsches.

Lamborghini is probably similar. You would be paying for a vehicle to drive to go out for the evening, but keep a commuter car.

I would buy a Tesla for that much money. They kick ass.

What do you need a Lamborghini for?  It looks like you're already married!    ::)  :P

I've seen that you can get a used Beemer, Mercedes, or Ferrari on BitPremier in BTC, but no Lambos yet.  (We need a BitCharlieBabbitt.)

So what will your new vanity plates read?

LAMBORTOSHI
or
LITECOINGHINI

People on IRC are trying to talk me out of buying a Lambo due to reliability issues :(

This makes me sad. Some one tell me I'm being trolled.

Mclaren's new car (MP4) is pretty reliable but Lambos are like ferraris and not reliable. But your not being this car to be reliable your buying it say a status if your thinking you want to drive this car every day that is probably not going to happen.

The MP4 does not seem to be sold in the USA or maybe it is just not in my price range.

The MP4 is for sure sold in the USA. Price yeah it maybe in the low $200K, but you could get a used one in your range. If you want a good exotic car that is cheaper and not a up in the lambo/ferrari league, I would suggest a BMW m6 it is a great car, I am actually thinking of getting one. It reliable and you still get people asking you question about it. I just rented one to see if I would like it.

MP4 seems to be around $190k USD for used as a low. I think I will wait as I do not really want to spend that much on a car.

IRC people might have talked me into getting a Cadillac escalade for now.

Escalades are cool, but they are so douchey looking. I think if you get an escalade they give you shades and a popped collar shirt.

Lol, buying an American SUV because they are more reliable?

Three days ago I saw one black lamb in a condo in Beijing, it was running at max speed allowed in compound streets and I was biking right behind it, dude, that thing has good engine noise and tires, but my first impression after that: it looks like a toy, seriously. Maybe a fake Chinese one?

To respond to an earlier post, you were being trolled. The bottom line I think is-if you can afford a Lamborghini, you can afford to fix any problems it may have. Since these are not mass-produced, and are such high-performance machines, there often are problems that arise w/them. They're not necessarily huge problems though, and if you take special care (I'm sure you will-its a Lamborghini!) of it, your chances of encountering any "problems" with it are much smaller. Good luck, I am very jealous.

1 BTC will buy a Lambo eventually.  I'll just wait for then :)

By the way, instead of paying $90-150k USD for a Lambo, wouldn't it be much cooler to try convince someone to accept BTC or LTC for a Lambo in the area?  Even if you have to get it imported or something.  First ever Lambo bought with Bitcoin would be pretty epic.

Just a fair warning on the Lotus Elise/Exige/Etc, they are awesome cars, and I would love one, but it does take a special sort of person to drive one often from what I hear.  They are tinny, rattly, super light-weight, and very small without much in the way of amenities.  Absolutely the car I would love to drive, but I know some wealthy people would hate to drive one more than just around a race track.  Heck, I'd daily drive the thing in a heartbeat.

Maintenance is usually much cheaper than that of other exotic cars, simply because (I think) all the engines used in them are based on production Toyota engines.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

From what I read you're right -- heavy clutch, uncomfortable.  But that's why you buy that kind of car.  It's a real car.  Also don't scratch it, the whole car is one piece of fiberglass.  Replace all or nothing.

Probably a little cheap for what your looking for, but I have loved my Scion Fr-s.  It is such a fun little zippy car to drive and for another 2 or 3 grand you can add about another 100 HP with a supercharger.

IRC people might have talked me into getting a Cadillac escalade for now.

No offense but it sounds like you have no idea what you want.  A lambo to an escalade is jumping from one spectrum to the other.  I would test drive whatever you finally decide on, especially if it's something like a Lotus.  That car is incredibly tiny and low to the ground, a huge pain in the ass to get in if you're tall.  It's a fun car to drive, handles amazing, but it's simply not on the same level as a lambo.  That being said, lambo's are wild compared to some of the other supercars so unless you're experienced driving something with that much power, you could end up in a bad place.  I love the look of a lambo but they really are very impractical cars, the Aventador for example, looks amazing but is so wide it's a huge pain in the ass everywhere but on a track/open road.

if you arnt sure whether you want a lambo or an escalade than may i recommend that you buy a used honda civic. it doesnt matter how much money you have, you shouldnt spend a penny of it on a consumer good that you are not passionate about. invest that money and sit on it until you find something that you are actually passionate about to spend it on.

whats going to happen someday when you decide that you want a fighter jet or a private island or a cruise ship, and despite the fact that you are quite wealthy, you still find yourself 100k short.

It's a daydreaming thing? A "what I would do if I won the lotto" kinda of mental masturbation?

Because I don't see that kind of lengthy and passionate "this card is much better" debates when someones WTB a 7970 or whatever :D

Hmm, doesn't appear to be NOS. Searching online shows that the kits are separate.

This is really going to bother me, XD. I don't know what either of the symbols mean (above each tank) and I have no idea how to look them up.

Forgive me for being a newb but... on the top picture, behind the driver's door, are those two openings for gas tanks? Or... what is the second one for?

Good catch ... I'm going to say:  gasoline / ethanol blend

http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/Drives/Search-Results/First-drives/Lotus-Exige-265E/

I've never heard of adding ethanol though... I think this would over-complicate the gasing process, lol.

I was in Brazil and cars there can drive on ethanol exclusively. Sold at every gas station very cheaply! :)

Confirmed. When you go to gas station and you are not looking for diesel for you truck or tractor, you have two choices: pure ethanol or gasoline, which has 25% of ethanol on it.

I am NOT the seller OR the Broker, I simply have contacts with a broker who deals in this.
The BTC to FIAT conversion must be handled by the buyer himself through sites like coinharvest.com

Honestly I think he thought he was. I think pirate tricked him. He just called it a "joke" after the fact, paid of theymos and then moved on to scam again.

I thought there was no reason someone sane would offer such a bet otherwise  :D

However, didn't Matthew pay a token portion of the actual bet to return to the forums? I think that shows what he did was more moronic than malicious as he actually paid money to return to the forums while his reputation is irreparably damaged (at least when it comes to finance).

MNW was clearly serious on his bet until he realized he was going to lose, at that point he started to play the joker part because he thinks he is smarter than others and can fool people.

It's sad to see how he insists on the "it was a prank" thing. It's like saying to everybody: "ok, you are so stupid you didn't even realize I was joking". The saddest part is that i believe he is lying to himself and living a delusion.

I need an SUV for family/snow. I want a fun sports car and I am learning towards the Lotus cuz it looks almost as fun, has a more reasonable price point (esp cuz i won't even be living in that country) and it seems to be more reliable.

The escalade was kind of a joke as its over kill for driving in the snow. The following place will accept BTC, both of these seems to be fine for winter driving.

http://www.overlandparkjeepdodge.net/used/Acura/2010-Acura-MDX-fd71cefd0a0a00e00197c10048ec4200.htm

http://www.overlandparkjeepdodge.net/used/Land%20Rover/2013-Land+Rover-Range+Rover+Evoque-1b766d0c0a0a00e001db4b88c703690a.htm

I might end up with one of them.

I would go with the Land Rover.

It sounds like you're looking for the best bang for your buck.  Have you considered the Nissan GT-R?  A new one will be at the lower end of your price range and it will come with supercar performance and be more practical than the Lotus. Whatever you decide, congrats :)

I thought the GT-R was an automatic?  (or the fake-shifting type) and the transmission can't handle the power.  The Lotus is a real sports car.

There's always this:  http://www.arielatom.com/buy_an_atom.php   Not really a DD though :)  I like how the cat is an option.

Goat, if you're looking at Gs, get a 2009+ since not only was that when they refreshed the looks, the chassis was sorted out by then. The LP cars are almost a completely different car from the 2008 and prior (different engine, quicker shifting tranny, etc). If you DO get a pre-2009 (which is going to be easier to do given your budget), try to get a Superleggera.

Why dont you just invest the money and build a Bitcoin car? I would design a car that is cryptographically impenetrable, it could also mine Bitcoins using the same processor that drives the car. Also it should have lasers, everything is better with lasers.

if you live in an area with traffic or traffic wardens i would strongly suggest a WW2 tank think of the ability to park anywhere without getting towed and the ability to win every argument even if it was your fault..... not to mention in the UK you dont have to pay congestion charge to drive around London....

not to mention there not that expensive $60,000 would get you a good one that needs some work

(WTB) Lamborghini, used.

$90,000 to $150,000

USA or Thailand.

not Orange! Just about any other colour is fine.

I would like to pay in BTC but will think about cash.

Also open minded of other cars like this but prefer a Lambo.

Thank you.

Check out autoscout24.eu shipping to the USA is not very expensive and you will get a less screwed up car. (Europeans just know how to drive much better than americans IMO)

Although having owned both a lambo, a Dodge Viper and a Porsche in my time I prefer the ultima GTR http://www.ultimasports.co.uk/Content.aspx?f=gtrintro (http://www.ultimasports.co.uk/Content.aspx?f=gtrintro) as it really makes up for my small penis because it can simply go faster than anyone else. I see where you got your name  ;)

Ha, I missed our discussions. How you been.

Actually I lied, I never owned any of those cars. Im sorry. Please forgive me.

Actually I have an F-150 truck which I custom swapped a Mercedes Diesel engine into so I could run on biofuel with decent MPG. Its kinda rusty and im thinking of gluing a shark to the hood. But its free to run.

I know that you wont be impressed by that because outward displays of wealth are very important to you.

For me I just grin when I think about the first time a lady asked me why my truck sounded different to the others and I showed her the engine and explained about diesel engines....she asked me how I got it there, I told her with my teeth, she laughed, the conversation moved onto things I could also remove with said teeth, and now she is Mrs Bitcoin bob. But you probably wouldn't get it, have fun with the fancy car :)

Handjob? I was expecting to be able to deliver penetration for that price. To be honest, I was thinking we would make a weekend out of it.

Meh, as long as it's kept confidential I'm all for it.

You hear that, guys? WHAT HAPPENS IN BITCOINTALK STAYS IN BITCOINTALK.

Damn. my plan was to pay for the session with the rights to the sextape.

Think we've hit a sticky point.

Oh....bad joke.

Oh cum on! You can think of something better than that. Just think... hard.

Best of luck in your search for one, buying a luxury car is certainly an exciting journey!

If you can't find someone through here I suggest taking a look at ebay, there are quite a few within your price range:

Go and ask car questions on car forums and you'll get more sensible answers, but for what it's worth in my experience Gallardos are very reliable, I never had any problems with mine. Older Lambos are a different story though!

The crazy car shown at Geneva is the Veneno and they are only making three, it's not that pretty in person (I was there as a guest of Lambo).

"Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. (Italian: [lamborˈɡiːni] is an Italian manufacturer of luxury sportscars which is part of Volkswagen Group through its subsidiary Audi"

That much about the bad quality ;D. They would not let'em sell bad cars. IMO the Germans still build the best cars if it comes to quality.

Maybe by then 1 BTC can buy a house :)

All the Italian supercars are pretty crazy unreliable and are kinda known for catching fire.  Something like a Porsche 911 Turbo is more "practical" as these things go though admittedly not as flashy.  I would personally never buy a Lambo since I'd prefer to drive a car that didn't break every 5000 miles but to each they're own.

It really depends on if you're buying it for the flashiness or for the actual performance, if you just want a really fast and expensive car a Porsche or a Nissan GT-R would be crazy fast and relatively reliable (I'm not saying they're super reliable compared to a regular car, but for a super high performance car they're going to be crazy more reliable than anything italian)

Thai luxury and import taxes... lining the pockets of the political elite forever. I think they are allowed to import 2 cars a year tax free, from what I hear.

I would love to buy a Subaru WRX STi out here, but not when I have to pay $120,000 for it.

Reliability all depends on how much you're going to be using it. Many buyers simply put 10-20k Miles on it and never see any issues. If you want a lambo I say go for it as long as you aren't driving it every day, just make sure you're not buying one with too many miles. A lambo with a "bitcoin" plate on it would certainly turn quite a few heads!  :)

That goes without saying that you'd have to keep up the maintenance of the car which I've heard is usually about $1/Mile

There was a whole thing on the Top Gear news about Lamborghini Gallardo's catching fire, yes, they're notorious for being unreliable and not just Lamborghini's. Jeremy went through a whole season nearly having tons of problems with the electrics on his Ford GT. If you're going to drive one of these things be prepared to accept that it will burst into flames for absolutely no reason, oh and good luck taking them into a city with how low the bumpers are and how wide they are :D

I also think Telsa cars are an excellent buy, personally, if you're looking for something in this price range.  But I own Tesla stock, so I'm a bit biased.

But I'm just curious, did you end up actually buying a car ever, or are you still trying to decide?

if hes going to regret anything, it will be the maintenance costs on a lambo. the NSX is technically a supercar, it's incredibly reliable, and can be easily modified to 800+ HP if you spend the equivalent of what it would cost you to take a lambo in for repairs.

$90,000 to $150,000

USA or Thailand.

not Orange! Just about any other colour is fine.

I would like to pay in BTC but will think about cash.

Also open minded of other cars like this but prefer a Lambo.

A Lamborghini is something you buy to reward yourself. Reliability, gas mileage, servicing costs, repair costs ... all these become unimportant if you can truly afford it.

After VW bought Lamborghini in '98 reliability stopped being an issue as it once was in the older days.

With your budget you should be able to afford a low miles 2004-2008 Gallardo which is an amazing machine.

Stop listening to all the people "in the know", most of whom, sadly, probably never got to even sit in one, let alone drive it or own it. Listen to your heart if your wallet can afford it.

There's also the R8 which is basically a cheaper Gallardo that's a bit more fun to drive (the awd system is more rear biased) but lacks the same prestige.

He already bought a brand new one for ~216 BTC last week.

That is insane, I remember when 200BTC was like $2000!!!

(WTB) Lamborghini, used.

$90,000 to $150,000

USA or Thailand.

not Orange! Just about any other colour is fine.

I would like to pay in BTC but will think about cash.

Also open minded of other cars like this but prefer a Lambo.

Thank you.

last time I checked you could not trade in BTC in Thai. anything changed?

Congrats on your new purchase... enjoy it in good health.

I had the chance to have extensively driven a few (short term leases) and let me tell you it is an amazing experience.

ps: when you want to open the gas tank, there is a little procedure to follow haha. Pm me if you have any trouble. I looked like an idiot at the gas station the first time LOL.

Many congratulations to you btw. That lambo is my dream  ::) and will remain one atleast in this lifetime. Have heard that company lets you drive it in a track in Italy for $1000 or something. Will try that sometime in the near future, if I will have enough fiat to travel to Italy.

You can do stuff like this in Vegas as well

In NY you can do that as well. I did the Gotham Dream Car Sprint, I got as a birthday gift, I drove a Ferrari 458 and I got to drive a lambo. I enjoyed the 458 a lot more, because of the tunnel noise.

I guess since I've never been to thailand I'm missing a joke or something.  But yes, we should have a serious meeting about BTC in Thailand sometime next year when I actually have vacation, er..., business trip time.  Less of the sketchy things though or my girlfriend will murder me when I try to explain this trip to her.

Although my Gallardo was not the fastest, most powerful, or best handling car I've owned, what I found was that it was certainly the one that got the most attention and with the Tubi exhaust was also one of the loudest!
