As Bitcoin keep climbing and altcoin keeps going down, is it better to invest in bitcoin or altcoin now?

In my opinion, I think the best thing to do now is to invest in altcoins since the values are currently lower. You will start making profit once their values recover. Its actually a wise move to invest in now, adding to the fact that bitcoin is higher in value, which means that you will get more altcoins at lower value.

If you currently have BTC I would trade it and buy alt-coins right now, their price is so cheap and almost inevitably will increase after the fork. With regards to the fork I do not think bitcoin gold will be worth much and so expect that you will make more holding alts than you would receiving the free btc gold.

In my opinion btc price is too high to buy now, it's better to buy altcoin but of course altcoin which have good future. But if you have lot of money to throw in BTC you can buy it and get new free coin in the end of october

It's all depend on the trader,
but i suggest you to get into altcoin right now,because most of it is underwater.
the reason is very simple,
because after this run we should see another pump caused by the whales for every altcoin.
but it need a time to do that and it should take a time for more than 3 months.

I suggest hodl your BTC at the moment. Never chase an altcoin. If you missed the train, don't worry. Wait for a correction and buy.

For bitcoin investment?No it isnt the best time to invest specially if you do go shorting unless if you do go for long term then anytime would be a sweet spot to buy bitcoin.Regarding on altcoins since most of them are on bargains as of now then if you do have the funds then i would really purchase on those coins which i do saw that has a potential and not carelessly choosing them up.

The altcoins are in their correction right now. Some even dropped to an All Time Low.

Altcoins are no longer crashing like they were. They are starting to rise again, although they are not still catching up with bitcoin , since it's dominance is now 54%, and it normally was around 49/50%. So I would say it's still better to invest into bitcoins than in alts. Of course that there are still some cases of great climbs from alts, because of pumps, but it's hard to get on those.
LTC on the other hand, seems to be rising quite well, so for me it would be BTC and LTC investments right now.

The majority of alts has taken quite a beating due to the recent BTC-rally, and it certainly is damn tempting to buy a bunch of 'em. However, the bottom of many alts might be even lower as Bitcoin could shoot further up towards $10K as the market still looks extremely bullish. Don't know how I'm going to act myself, probably going to be a 50/50 situation (alts/BTC).

Not because if ever btc crashes it doesn't mean altcoin's price will go up, but it can be possible if people move their bitcoins to altcoins after the fork. Not to mention most altcoin's prices usually goes up and down together with bitcoin's price. No one really knows for now. Your guess is just as good as mine.

If you are planning on to BUY BTC then you should probably drop the idea because BTC has increased way too much in a short span of time.
If you already have some BTC and if you want to invest in altcoins then you should try to hold it for a while until the price of BTC increases.
Then BUY altcoins when BTC starts crashing as Altcoins will be seeing a spike in price at that time. So you will get a profit in holding BTC and then you will get a profit while selling Altcoins.

It's hard to say but when a good altcoin is down, I would consider buying it. You want to buy low, so whether it is a good altcoin or Bitcoin, if it drops in price and it's a coin I believe in, I will consider buying it. Right now I'm buying Iota because the price has dropped and I think it has a good future. If Bitcoin drops in price, I will buy more of it. Sometimes you have to sell more of one coin to buy another, so I will sell a coin that is high in price to buy one that is low in price. I think this is a strategy that a lot of people use and as long as you are dealing with good coins, it should work to your benefit.

Bitcoin at this point still serves as the 'gold standard' among cryptocurrencies. Trust and reliability are important, and bitcoin has withstood and grown through almost a decade of scrutiny, attacks and fear/fud cycles. It will probably remain the gold standard and entry currency for some time to come. Bitcoin doesn't begin to cover even a fraction of the total possibilities of blockchain tech. Other projects are taking over in these areas, and these no reason why they couldn't ultimately end up replacing or overshadowing bitcoin.

bitcoin is probably going up because a lot of people are moving their altcoins money to bitcoin, so they can get free bitcoin gold after the fork is done.
So altcoins are cheap, you can buy some right now and wait until the price goes up again, this is a very fair move and probably you are going to make a great return once that altcoins recovers again.

It is better to wait till the forking events takes place and see how things go ,there is a possibility that the price would go down eventually after the fork and if you are planning to purchase bitcoin when the price is on an all time high ,the risk is yours and so is the case with Ethereum ,there is nothing wrong in investing in good alt coins if you think that it wont go down further as some of the coins are going down.

so much spam it is hard to find trustworthy comment here, many people invest in many
different alt-coins, ICO`s, how to know in what to trust.
   Bitcoin for me is the best and safest investment, it will rise over time and that is now
clear to everyone. Some alt-coins can grow much more, some of them are in early stages
and investing $1000 in bitcoin and $1000 in some alt-coin is not the same. Bitcoin will
be profitable a little on that amount, but if you have luck with some alt-coin you can
have big profit with higher risk.

Both is good to invest as of now . I believe even the price of bitcoin as of now is very high you can invest because I believe it will continue to increase more in the next few weeks and if that happen you can earn more profit. I think you just found your answer. Either bitcoin or altcoin both had a different price range which is basically making bitcoin as the top cryptocurrency because basically it is the original bitcoin. But mostly for us traders here are investing on altcoins because it has a very low price. If this coins will have a potential it will going to boom up in the sky and that's where you will gonna get a very good profit but it is too risky sometimes because you'll never know if it has a potential or not because most of these altcoins are dumping forever and didn't make it on the top.

It depends on you investment plan and the level of risk you are ready to take. Altcoins are at the accumulated stage in trading circle why bitcoin is currently at the distribution stage. I think professional traders buy into an assets at the accumulation stage for long terms big profits purpose why most times they buy into an assets at the distribution stage to take advantage of short term's price's fluctuations which is exactly what is happening now. If I should invest now I will buy many of the coins that are very cheap now.

 in my own opinion if you have enough funds that supply you until a month or two. better to invest in altcoins because the price is down but be careful better check first the coins if they have future. all investors had focus on bitcoin now because of the upcoming fork this is the time to buy some good altcoins and have good profit in the upcoming months.

Both have good prospects. but if talking the current situation then I recommend bitcoin as an investment that we must do. the rising bitcoin price makes us able to profit fairly easily. we can do a short trading to get a few dollars. while the altcoin state that continues to decline at this time does not affect anything because most altcoin based on the USD so that when the price of bitcoin increases must altcoin price also affected the impact. so you have to choose between bitcoin and altcoin, there is no best choice because it all depends on the condition at this time.

Bitcoin price is currently above 5.5k USD and I would not recommend buying more at this price. Rather if you are holding bitcoin continue to do so. The market has been red today and its a good time to buy altcoins like ethereum and litecoin and maybe dash if it dips again.

Altcoins that pop up everyday are never recommended before you have done your own research. There are so many shitcoins making false promises and wasting people's money - good example is the current bandwagon of these e-prefix coins. They are all pump and dump schemes.

id say altcoin is the best to invest now because their values are still low these days and i believe they can still pump in the future or after the november hard fork and i think bitcoin will begin to drop again back to 4000$ or maybe lower because people will more likely sell their bitcoins after they got their bitcoingold/bitcoin2x after the fork.

Altcoin investment is definitely profitable, but its for longer period of time. Yes, for quick and short term profit, I would also suggest to go for Bitcoin.

I totally agree, now you really dont know how the trend will go, will it be 5k again or even dumped harder? Specially before the fork it may dump even harder and than go higher again, with altcoins you never know since they depend on btc and they act in a strange way, best thing to do now in my oppinion is to hold bitcoin till the 25th of october and after that see what happens with altcoins, maybe they will get back in ip trend.

I'm not sure why are you confused here. The straight thing is altcoins are down which means we have created ourselves opportunities to invest in best alts at lowest prices possible. That's the part of swing trading and buying at low is the ideal step to follow.


As bitcoin already spiked way lot ahead I believe is time to buy alts more than bits. The reason is simple we may not get sufficient margin for bitcoin now because it will take time to rise by 300-500 USD which can get 2-3 % of profits on any investment. Seeing from the rising bitcoin price movement up to now I think everyone would strongly agree that investing in dibitcoin today is very profitable. can I expect the price of bitcoin will continue to increase to $ 6000 until this weekend and that I think is a pretty pantastic value so I think it is very profitable for bitcoin holders who still maintain their bitcoin today. this is just like the fruit they picked from the tree as long as they planted it patiently and did not experience panic so I think bitcoin is really great.

It is always better to invest in bitcoin on long term and specially if you have alot to invest, bitcoin will go up higher every time and on long term it is going much higher, we are almost hitting 6k and it wouldn't surprise me if we hit 6k on the 24th this month regarding to the hardfork that is happening, if you have not so much to spend like tens of thousands than altcoins will give you also much higher percentages back.

as a general rule Bitcoin is the best choice. it made very good gains over the years and it's the most popular cryptocurrency. however NOW it's a  different story...sure alts are cheap now and probably will recover in the next weeks, but it's very risky because bitcoin might continue to rise and alts might continue to fall. trade with caution and always set up a stop-loss.

I don't see altcoins being cheap at all. If you consider that the far majority of the altcoins are nothing more than blatant 'copy and paste' coins, then literally ANY value is too high, especially in current days where even the altcoin market is quite pumped up. 99% of the altcoins serve no purpose other than speculation - if people end up investing their money into whatever coin, or even ICO, then it's straight gambling. You have to look for altcoins actually solving a problem, and exactly these coins are insanely scarce (i.e almost non existent).

I do think that both altcoin and bitcoin is a good choice for investing.  Many people will say that bitcoin is better but for me I see potential in investing in altcoins too. As for example is ether,  ether was just a coin until it became a leading altcoin and is now being compared to bitcoin. We should not underestimate altcoins because they are the main source of bitcoins in trading.

No, I don't think you are crazy. Everyone has his own opinion. Ethereum is a good crypto coin and if you think it is the future, it maybe one day. After all, digital currencies are going to become our new money method. However, I don't see it as the only future coin. Bitcoin will also exist in that era and it will be the number one digital currency even then. It is the best of the best.

BITCOIN would be a better investment than altcoins simply because bitcoin is the mother of all cryptocurrencies.it is the most popular crypto available in the market . it has higher acceptance than any other crypto available in the market right now and looking at the current increase in popularity,i think that it will be used by everyone in the coming years.

BTC is always a safe bet whenever you want to invest in anything, if you are not sure about a specific situation or about the crypto market, BTC is your safest way - at the moment it's one of the least volatile crypto coins out there and many use it ot hedge. Btc is a must for the investment. Altcoin it will depend upon which one you are investing in. Because btc will make a rise in coming time but not all altcoin will make a upward movement. So do research accordingly and invest in the right coin.

I don't think Bitcoins and altcoins are having inverse trading relationships, but yes few coins do pretend to trade in opposite relationship. The best opinion from my side is that invest in both, mean to say invest half of your capital in bitcoin alone as it has high value and demand behind it. Then invest second half of your capital into the Coins like Etherum, Litecoin, Dashcoin, Neocoin which are having good value, good volume,and are likely to become future bitcoins. And you can also invest in coins which are not yet started to rise, but are capable to rise to new higher levels similar to other good altcoins like litecoin and neocoin.

I would not pay attention to all other currencies than Bitcoin. It seems to me that it is Bitcoin that has all the positive prospects for recognition by mankind and for the replacement of feat. Reality can be difficult only because many people are not ready to switch to the digital currency and this will be a bit difficult.

My primary choice would be Bitcoin. I expect the prices to reach somewhere between $10,000 and $25,000 by the end of 2018 (if everything goes according to the plan). It seems to be a cycle of altcoins where every week or so 1 lucky altcoin will have a huge price increase. Ripple not long ago, eth a few days ago, dash a few months ago, then they go down eventually and they are not always following bitcoin price, I mean look at the recent bitcoin explosion, most altcoins went down hard because people were selling their alts for bitcoin.

About my choice, both are good opportunity getting nice profit. It's mainly depends, user point of view. Just imagine present situation, everyone intend to invest on BTC for getting free gold. I guess it is possible that people sell before the hardfork, thinking that cheap altcoins would be s better pay off than Bitcoin gold. Simple math but decent profits.

Yes for me they are bith good interms of investment especially on bitcoin and yet there is no wrong to in investing on altcoin too so trying to invest with this two currency is profitable the thing is it depends on the people who investing on how he handle it.

I go for bitcoin, the price continuously increasing and if this will not stop I'm sure in the future the save bitcoin has a huge value.  In altcoin the coins has so many you can't know which coins will become successful. There is coins that time it is good but after months it will crash. Additionally in altcoin trading it has many steps before you trade successfully your coins, and it is time consuming.  Unlike in bitcoin that if you think that the price is better you can convert it in just one click in your wallet.

I think bitcoin is for long term investment but in my opinion, erethreum as altcoin is very trustworthy. But I think with forks that are continuously coming I think bitcoin is much wiser to invest in. It's much safer, then store it in a hard wallet if you are trying to hold your BTC.

I think it's best to diversify at least a little.  Bitcoin certainly has the popularity and momentum right now.  As bitcoin sort of represents the cryptocurrency space as a whole, it's kind of like a stock market index--more stable (compared to alt coins, at least), more desirable, and somewhat safer.  But of course the drawback is that it's now much harder for bitcoin to experience the same kind of explosive growth (e.g., 10x in a month or two) as smaller alt coins.  So I think it's good to have bitcoin as your primary investment, but also hold some good alts to take advantage of any outsized price rallies that they may experience.

In my portfolio I invested 60% Bitcoin, 30% altcoin and 10% for ICO. Because invest in altcoin is more risky than Bitcoin. So many altcoin and token so become hard to choice it, but it will be better if invest in altcoin that has good in fundamental and has big volume & marketcap like ETH,WAVES,XMR and DASH. And for the ICO also in high risk, so that why only 10% in my portfolio.

I will put invest 50:50 on both is good choice, 50% on bitcoin and 50% on potential good future altcoin to reduce the risk of losing my capital. So better to invest to both will give us more potential huge profit investment.

If you are looking for a short term investment then altcoin market is very very lucrative specially if you know what coins to invest and maybe ride a few pump and dump groups in order to get a good profit. I have only been watching a couple of months but btc really tends to suck the market dry with upcoming forks. The price is soaring again. I dont know a lot of other interesting things are gettingignored. Some ICOs you get clearly below ICO right now even really good stuff like cindicator or powerledger (6 cent!!!). BTC will keep rising up to the fork and this is a real fork. My original plan was to go the for fork but for my part I feel safer with ETH related things right now.

If I compare to invest in Bitcoin and Altcoin I think investing Bitcoin is better than investing in Altcoin.
But if you want to bet in altcoin you need to know the price of altcoin is very cheap now. and if the Bitcoin price starts to stabilize I'm sure you'll get a double benefit of the benefits of altcoin and Bitcoin.

When bitcoin's price stabilizes I observed that altcoins started to pump with its price. People were just choosing between alt and btc investments into parallel assets, and nowadays many holders of alts now returning back to bitcoin assets holding and waited for another price surges.

I think the best to invest is altcoin because the value of the altcoin presently lower, and the value of the bitcoin now so high 6.9k so sell our half of the portion of the bitcoin and invest it to the altcoin. So if already invest in altcoin I predict that the value of the altcoin will increase when the gold fork.

For me, Altcoin and bitcoin is the better invest now. Bitcoin because the value of the bitcoin is contentiously increasing. why altcoin one reason the altcoin like ethereum fall the price or have an lower value so this time to invest in the altcoin. I like the way you explain as my opinion is the same. But if you have more bitcoin just hold it till reach resistance point and then just buy some altcoin then you will get profit.

You need to search and invest properly. As you know nowadays bitcoin are more popular than the altcoin as more people are investing in it. And the history of bitcoin is more popular than altcoin. Altcoin is really risky to invest in it if it goes rite then you can have huge profit. On the other hand  bitcoin are comparatively less risky but it can surely give profit. Bitcoin are more time consuming then altcoin. So according to my knowledge bitcoin is much better then altcoin.

Splitting your funds and investing in more than coin will be very much difficult thing and it will not be easily managed. Whether its BTC or altcoins, i guess this really depends on your taste, Right now BTC is trading at an all time high. I feel a correction is near, but in the digital world nothing is certain.

Yes. Altcoins are pretty  much at good bargains right now and the best time to get them is now. Some may not get lower and some may depending on the level you got them but all the same, after the fork, the profit from the pumps would pretty much be  a great one and I am so waiting for those moments.

No need to choose only one between the two. Although I was going to say Bitcoin, I think it is much better to consider investing in altcoins also.
