Title: User BUYER - Sock, Possible SCAMMER, Fail Coder of sellbitcoinforcash.com
Post by: crumbcake on June 07, 2013, 01:51:21 PM
User:buyer, an established sockpuppet account, is running a self-moderated thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=224763.msg2400890#msg2400890
While both sockpuppetry & thread self-moderation (threads in which OP is allowed to delete unfavorable comments) are both common & approved in these forums, buyer's aggressive exploitation of both marks him as likely scammer.
While promoting (his friend's according to buyer) site (http://sellbitcoinforcash.com/MPOut.php), he sistematically deleted all critical reviews, becoming beligirent & replying with slanderous comments, while deleting the original posts.  Since my deleted posts were automatically PMed to me, they could be verified by mods, so evidence is available.
The site is a scam, but fortunately this lolcow can't code for sour apples, though even this may be a part of his scam ("my site was haxxored!1") see screencap:

Edit:  Lolz!  "divide by zero" :D

User attempted to hack my site.  I have had no business dealings with the OP.  He will now remove my post because I've removed more than 450 of his troll posts in my threads.

The OP is from Virginia.  The same state who just shut down a major bitcoin website.  I wonder if this is another avatar of the operator.

Verizon report:
[AB-xxxxxxxx] hacker in your system
96.233.24.119

DOH the OP FORGOT to self moderate.  LOLZ!

Buyer is delusional.  I've never hacked his site, i'm not from Virginia, and i'm not associated with any major Bitcoin websites other than bitcointalk.org, this site.  I understand that prohibiting sock accounts is pointless & unenforceable, though asking me to remove a post exposing him as a scammer is a bit absurd.  As far as i know, there's no stated TOS for this forum, a fact exploited by scammers such as buyer, but that sword cuts both ways. :)
'day, buyer.

edit: Buyer stated that he has reported me to my service provider.  Buyer claims he's deleted 450 of my posts.  Unless i've created this account exclusively for trolling him (i'll admit, he's a prime lolcow), look at my post count & decide for yourself :D

OP is from Virginia using Verizon's network as identified by his IP address above.  OP did try to hack my site per the 450 posts he's shared in the bottom of my threads which I am forced to removed one at a time until Theymos bans this particular avatar.  (Same account owner as OldSport, known scammer).

Feel free to come to my site yourself, or join the adults in the thread here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=224763.0

You'll quickly see me deleting the trolls posts.   Thanks for all the top posts, stooge!

How do you know this is his IP address?

Also, it's a rather crass to link one IP address to an entire state and then say it might be the same person.

I have the server logs.  He locked up my inventory and tried to steal the codes.  I have the logs and that is the address who attempted the hack.  The address has been reported to Verizon.

I know what he did because he posted that he had done it, which made it REALLY easy to identify him.

Put away those server logs.  Dick and Jane is a bit hard, though still more your speed.  Watch buyer squeal -- on the wrong IP! :D

How did I scam you, you've done nothing but hack my site and try to steal codes.  Do you have some evidence to the contrary?  No, I didn't think so.

I banned crumbcake for spamming pointlessly in self moderated threads. Seriously, pointing out a scam/accusing of a scam is not an offense in itself, but doing that in big flashing letters and pointless commentary, plus re-spamming that after being warned...

Anyway, theymos will come along and sort this out later when he's online.

Yea, but I mean how did you link the IP address to him? If you don't have that, you have no evidence.

For clarification, I'm not taking any sides here.

Maybe he can get some sleep now. He's been at this the last 20 hours or so. Gotta be fatigueing,

Because of the actions the user took.  The user pressed specific buttons on my site which locked up inventory.  Then the hacker stupidly posted the above screen shot of a now-defunct order.

I can tell from the screen shot he posted and my error logs and the timing and amount of the code he selected.  I backtracked the actions and CLEARLY identified his IP address.

Initially he was just trying to be an ass, but then he deliberately tried to steal codes from the site without paying for them.

Here's my comment on his first post of the image:

Yeah, it was a PITA having to see the reports too. Theymos originally instated the self moderated system to let the OP in the thread moderate himself and not having the moderator do his job there, but guess in this case it turned out to be the worse.

And you don't even test the IP Adress?

That is correct.  Per the TOS we expect the user to be familiar with their local rules.  We do not exclude any address (except crumbcake's) from our service as we do not believe we are required by any known law to do so.  Here's the legal question:

MoneyPak is a code it is not geographically bound.  I am unaware of any rule that it cannot be used outside the US.

Are there no mods assigned to the currency trading forum?  These scammers are trivial to identify.  They repeat the same scams with new alts each day.

Not worth an answer. Mods, PM me. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=227702.msg2412006#msg2412006

Edit: This interfed wannabe fails at *everything.*
  • A cursory search for OldSport shows that he's on a fixed ip, listed repeatedly since 2012 here: http://otc.armed.us/otc/?%@%.76.124.34.93% .  That boy don't hide b'hind no 7 proxyz :D  He stuck with that ip longer than most folks stick with a cell number.
  • Buyer claimed Crumbcake ip to be 96.233.24.119, which he placed in Virginia.  When informed by a user that the ip in question was a bit further up north -- in Boston, MA -- he stubbornly insisted: " Yea, that's not what the authority reports: http://whois.arin.net/rest/net/NET-96-224-0-0-1/pft "

Regardless of who I am, crumbcake could not possibly be OldSport, unless he's awesome.  For giggles and shits, i just clicked on buyer's links above.  More lulz:

The first link is my profile.
The second is Crumbcake.
The third is a user named "scrumbly" :D
And fourth, and last, is "KidCrumbles"  :D :D  DeVry learningz. :o

After today's posts, I honestly don't think buyer is scamming.  What originally looked like inept scamming has turned out to be honest American stupidity.  I hold no grudges against the less fortunate.  Buyer, I forgive you.
