I am very new to this and would like to know more about bitcoin. My very first concern is this internet currency bitcoin is legally approved worldwide?

The thing is, crypto currency is something new, countries and goverments (most of them) didn't have time to make laws for that. There is China, Russia etc which are giving laws to protect the customers ( for example ICOs are a big risk for investors ), but not to forbid the crypto.

There are some country that does not allow bitcoin and they restricted it or banned

I won't say bitcoin is legal worldwide. In some countries, it is neither legal nor illegal. Please check whether bitcoin is legal in your country or not in order to avoid legal problems.

No one can ban bitcoin. Government can ban trading and other actions with it, but not bitcoin itself or other currencies.

Russia and China are well known for banning businesses operating in Bitcoin such as exchanges but to my knowledge no country as banned Bitcoin completely.

No I don’t think so there are a lot of places where bitcoin is legal while also there are a lot of places where people scare and hate bitcoin and also in some countries people love to invest in bitcoin but their government don’t allow them and that’s why they invest illegality which is not good, now I days I heard that JAPAN make bitcoin legal which make bitcoin price more grow up and now more people started to invest in bitcoin.

Yes you are right I am agree with that there are some countries where bitcoin is illegal and they banned bitcoin there while some countries like JAPAN, USA, CANADA these countries give more importance to bitcoin when they allowed bitcoin and that’s why I also impressed and now I am investing in bitcoin happily and safely.

Bitcoin isn't nearly legal as it should be, unfortunately. And the landscape is ever changing, one day it's legal somewhere and the other day it's illegal. The technology is still so new, that there aren't any laws that prevent or allow it, this has to evolve throughout the years and it might take some time. The first countries that will legalize Bitcoin and see the benefits that it provides, will hopefully be a good example for other countries to follow them, because it's a shame really. The blockchain provides such a fantastic way to do so many things much more effect, efficient and transparent that it would be a shame if we didn't implement it. It's a gift given to us by someone who had a spark of genius and has now spread throughout the globe. People will start using it more and more, and we'll see more countries putting laws and slowly, but steady legalizing Bitcoin in one way or another.

it is legal in pretty much the whole world, there are a few countries that are having trouble but you can use it mostly anywhere. Altho you'd be using it online mostly so no need to worry about anything.

It is completly legal in some countries while illegal in others. Countries with good economy and advance technology infrastructure are accepting bitcoin as a new digital currency like Japan but other small backward countries with poor and bad infrastructure of advance technology are fearful to legalize it as they know nothing how it works

China, unfortunately, banned Bitcoin.  Many other countries haven't passed any real legislation about Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency.  As its popularity grows I foresee more regulations for cryptocurrency and coins like Ripple, whose business model is to work with the establishment, will help the crypto market gain worldwide support and acceptance.

This issue is relatevely different from country to other , so you can't judge the legality of bitcoin through the entire world but from state to state

And yes, and no, it's new and not every state/ country has time to deal with writing the law, but there are also places where payment can involve breaking the law.

It is not legal or legal in my country. Bitcoin is not yet regulated, there is no place in legislation.

It is certain that bitcoin would be legal worldwide someday but it being used as a currency by all is just a pipe dream. Using cryptocurrency as a main currency all over the world is very unlikely to happen since it is hard to replace fiat completely. The governments all over the world will need to exert a lot of effort in order for citizens to use btc itself as main currency. Also, they would need to provide every citizens with electronic devices in order to use crypto currency, and doing this would be hard.

Because the goverment make a statement Bitcoin is ilegal on their country.
But in my country , bitcoin its neutral , because the goverment not create a statement about legality of bitcoin , maybe on the future my country will make bitcoin as legal payment

Most country doesn't have any regulation for BTC... So it is possible to use BTC for transaction and investment nowadays..

My answer is not all countries but someday one by one will adopt bitcoin and approve.
Generation to generation would know what bitcoin is.

some of the countries that feel the good presence of bitcoin their country makes it legal. but some of the countries are lost their mind because they do not know the benifits of this so they ban the bitcoin. but in my country is still pending if they want to legal this bitcoin. not all country is approved with this.

First of all I want to say that no one can "ban" bitcoin or other crypto currencies. The government can ban buying, selling or making any other actions with bitcoin, but not bitcoin itself!

These days many countries are afraid of crypto currencies and of amounts of money which are unregulated. Governments want to control all of those things, so their first reaction is to restrict different actions connected with crypto currencies. In my opinion: their second step would be taking cryptos under control and allowing all actions only under their control. Governments want to get money from it.

Some countries have strict policy about the bitcoin existance in financial system (especially Asia countries). Overall, different countries goverment has some doubts and fears about the bitcoing being too powerfull to "own" or "subdue" by them. Thy want to regulate everything by themselves. :-\

there is a lot of places where its not legal. there are a lot of places where people not believe in bitcoin and Onlion transaction they believe in cash money so they prefer cash money

No! And I think as long as government in other countries gain no profit from it for themselves they would stand as walls against bitcoin. But seeing the progress of crypto world is actually undeniably unstapable.

Countries place and remove, change regulations on cryptos fairly often... it's good to keep up to date with regulations in your specific country as they can change often.

I think bitcoin is legal everywhere. Of course banks and politicians wnat to control cryptocurrency.

China hasn't banned bitcoin, I think it just banned ICOs. it may have also "closed down" exchanges.. although many are still operating (and the gov is turning a blind eye).. maybe the gov is buying time until it figures out how to make a profit out of cryptos

in my country the use of bitcoin as a means of payment is not authorized by the goverment, i have to change the local currency first if i want to make payment, but to buy bitcoin is not prohibited

Bitcoin is legal all over the world  there are  a few country where  Bitcoin is illegal , like Bolivia  Ecuador and more . A lot of people and country's don't know about Bitcoin,  and can't access Bitcoin. 

In Communist Countries, it's illegal to have or using CryptoCurrency.

Proof? I have not read about countries that can ban the posession of bitcoins. Your wallet is not attached to your ID, so best of luck to the government that tries to bann all bitcoins in their country.

It's kind of new is most part of the world, so Goverments are still trying to figure it out. My guess is they will try to make it illegal.

Bitcoin is legal in some countries but other people use bitcoin in illegal activities,why because its the safest way to make illegal transaction cause its hard to be trace. That is one thing why some countries dont bitcoin to operate.

Unfortunately not... I hope that in future all goverments will just open their eyes and see what we see now, i mean that crypto is future for global scale payments.

It is said to be legal in every corner of the world, but differently to the authorities of poorly developed countries. Officials are afraid of the fall of the currency.

Not only, sometimes there isnt anything written in law thats why it is on the board of legal and illegal concept.

It's funny - there's a lot of crypto exchange machines in Moscow, though government doesn't accept any "foreign" crypto currency yet, and the russian one still doesn't exist (they are trying to work it out, but are soooo slow with all the movements in that path)

The truth is countries did not create any principles about cryptocurrency because they do not think it is important think now

Secondly, some governments will be unable to control money inflow and outflow. Because of this, many governments try to ban bitcoin transaction. Thirdly, the banking system does not like that. The bank will lose a huge amount of money if people prefer to use bitcoin rather than cash. I found out that highly corrupt countries will try to ban bitcoin or punish bitcoin's user.

Well, from what I know in most countries the cryptocurrency is nor legal or illegal. Cryptocurrencies were around for just a few years and gouvernments don't have a good plan on how to treat it.

It isn't legal worldwide, it's a shame BTC can't be accepted in many places. Remember when exchanging fiat didn't require an ID and a phone call to the president? Those were the good days - unfortunately exchanging BTC is complicated because the legal aspects are as well. Not to mention the insane amount of stolen credit cards used to purchase BTC back in the day. I was surprised to see how long circle was able to maintain their exchange.

But BTC is accessible from all over -
its not widely accepted -- Funny story I saw it accepted in a coffee shop way back in like 2010 in Edmonton Canada -- Imagine what that latte would have been worth today if bought with BTC back in the day  :o

Regulations are weird in every way in some countries. Some allow to extent of exchange and some dont ..it really depends on the way for some authorities. They dont support yet they trade. They stop trading yet many coins came from the country. Always do this with caution

They forbid exchange BTC in China at September and other country is doing the same thing . But there are still some ares support BTC , for example : Japan .

but in most of the world there is actually no real rules for bitcoin , in my country bitcoin isn't legal and isn't illegal the same time since here there are no rules for it

It depends on regulation country in where you live. Each country has their own regulation about bitcoin. Few country already legally bitcoin as their payment, but many others doesnt yet. But they doesnt banned bitcoin it self.

I'm new in this forum, but already following cryptonews about a year. I think it's not worldwide yet as you ask. I read some news, some countries are banning Bitcoin, and there are some countries still considering it. And also there are some countries support and clearly stated using it.

Well, Bitcoin is legal all over the world except a few countries. Bangladesh, Bolivia, Equador, ....

Some of the economies are so large that it is hard to track all the changes and new technologies appearing. The more progressive learn how they can use and integrate new technologies and some of those a little behind are trying to implement rigid regulations which do not help. As a result, people are trying to figure out different ways of work around it.

It is recognized world wide but some countries banned the BTC for some reasons. Like China. I think theyre just against decentralized money coz banks are going to be useless if people can trade freely without a middle man (banks). But dont worry even if your country bestow a judgement to ban this currency. Theres a lot of other countries you can spend your bitcoin.

As far as i know not the whole world, because some countries are unacceptable and it is forbidden.

Based on what i read, some countries are imposing some regulations on their bitcoin exchanges, others did not welcome the bitcoin to be use as a currency.

This is the easiest way - if you can't control something just ban it:)
