I'm looking at getting 2x AntMiner S9
they are the most powerful bitcoin mining machines after reviewing a comparison of the available bitcoin mining machines

I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with these machines
I want to know what it's effect on your power bill is
It also says you should use 1400watt psu minimum for these machines yet they sell psus with lower amounts of wattage and hook them up to it? I find that a bit strange.

I am doing some mining since July but i abandoned the route your are looking at i.e. buying your own hardware and running them from home, costing a lot of power etc. The mining i am involved in is cloud mining whereby you invest in a mining platform and take a dividend for letting the mining pool use your investment. I've looked at cloud mining but i don't want to invest real money into it.

I feel that bitcoin mining is better.

I just need to figure out what the power drain is thats all are you able to shed some more light on that

The gains for 1 month of bitmining with 1 of the s9 machines is roughly $2.5k AUD a month

Dont even think about investing into cloud mining websites, they all are fake and you will only get a huge loss if you get into there. If you have that amount of money, then buy as many rigs as you can, or maybe some antminers for dash or ltc that they are giving a lot of profits right now, and they are less-power consumer, so it is a nice try if you are still a newbie for this kind of investments.

For a while now, bitcoin mining has become pretty obsolete unless you have a place to store hundreds of mining devices. Don't run into the cloud mining scam either -- most of them don't work. To earn bitcoin, you could start off with investing some of your own cash and putting it in and then trading altcoins. Mining is just not nearly as profitable as it once used to be.

I really don't think it would be that profitable unless you have solar power or free electricity. You can always try and see. You can also sell the s9 s if it does not work out to be profitable.

Mining with 2 AntMiners does not make sense fiscally - you will take an extremely long time to make your investment back. and/or see any ROI - I used to mine take it from me.

Keep in mind that miners generate a lot of heat; I know you're already aware of this but in the event you aren't, I'll assume the place you're in, in Australia, is relatively hot. Make sure to keep the miners cool because the warmer they get the more damage occurs to the internal components past a certain threshold, which would be about 70*C-80*C. Keep this in mind when you are finding out what it is going to cost you to maintain these mining platforms.

As for the effect on the power bill, find the kW usage and multiply that by your kW/h rate, that's the expenses you'll incur. I would recommend joining a pool so that you do get paid enough to cover costs initially, and make your own pool once you know your hashing power is big enough to actually earn some money. Pools are best used when offered without restrictions; often the larger the better.

Ok then why wouldn't I be able to get the 2.5k aud a month with 2 antminer s9's

Can you explain how bitmining works I have yet to find a reasonable explaination im a newbie and the jargon is confusing.

Could you please explain how the bitmining works.

I have a feeling that users with more machines get the results because of some rules im unaware of.

So i obviously need to join a pool :)
