Title: WTB bitcoin using USD on a credit card, I am a EU citizen, what exchange?
Post by: Agraoleom on October 20, 2017, 10:50:25 PM
Want to buy bitcoin and other cryptos using USD on a credit card, I am a EU citizen, what exchange would you recommend?

I want to do as little verification steps as possible.

The problem I have had so far is that I have signed up from a EU country, and therefore The exchange I have now is in Euro, not in USD.

I need an exchange that accepts me paying in USD even though I am in a EU country.

I do not see a reason why that would matter.

It's important because a lot of people are using stolen cards, so where do you get a US CC when your from europe? The only answer here is that you bought a stolen credit card.

You can try to buy at Coinmama but I’m sure they have strict verification and KYC checks to stop fraudsters on their tracks. If you are the true card owner, then this shouldn’t be an issue.

The rates might not be good for credit card transactions because of the higher risk of fraud and reversibility.

There is another service offered by Simplex but I forgot which exact site offers it.

CNP (card not present) transactions are a very high risk payment system so you can’t blame people for being paranoid.  Coinmama and Coinbase offer a card-based purchase platform but I am very sure it won’t be as simple as typing in the card number and expiry date. They will ask you to identify yourself and prove card ownership. You can also expect miserably low purchase limits after passing the verification procedure. That’s how paranoid the industry is. They know the tricks of carders and account phishers.

Ok, that makes sense. But the way the other guy was attacking me calling me a thief is not very civilized.

Thanks, I can deal with that, even though I would prefer to not have my passport/ID card floating around the internet more than necessary. Will check out coinmama. Already have an account at Coinbase and I have everything in Euro there, and at least to my knowledge, I can't switch to USD. Or can I?

Yeah, I guess we cant really blame them for being careful.
