Title: What exchanges will support Bitcoin Gold?
Post by: CryptoCracker on October 21, 2017, 08:40:58 PM
hey guys can someone let me know what exchanges will support the Bitcoin Gold (B2X). If you have links that would be awesome. I know YoBit is all over (https://yobit.net/en/bitcoingold/timer (https://yobit.net/en/bitcoingold/timer))it but ...I m hoping Bittrex and Cryptopia and some others make statements soon. Thanks

Im still sorting this out too, it seems only yobit has been vocal about its support of the alt. Im betting that it wil go down like this; exchanges with chronically low traffic, or less popularity will absolutely embrace this fork. the trading pairs will generate a ton of commissions, and they will eventually get to claim the forked coins from inactive/closed/seized accounts. the major exchanges have a vested interest in seeing bitcoin succeed, so they wont be so keen on adopting a rival alt that uses the same mining algo. Remember how Coinbase was staunchly against most of the forks, but eventually relented and gave users their coins ;)

it seems to me that legally, you pretty much have to give the users the coins, eventually. and waiting to do so might put you in legal jeopardy. :-\

Have you tried their site? They have some exchanges listed there, and they keep updating it. For instance, they only had one wallet on their ecosystem, guarda I think, but I'm not sure, and now they have coinomi as well, which is good because I like that one.

As for your question, you already said Yobit, and I think BitStar was already on their list, last time I checked, but I don't remember seeing bitpay there, and now they will support it apparently. There are 6 more exchanges listed there, but I don't really know them.

I think only yobit is planning on doing anything with BCGold or whatever the ticker is going to be, but Poloniex might end up doing something at some point. I haven't been hearing a ton from most exchanges simply because this fork has less enthusiasm behind it than the Segwit fork, so there might simply be not a lot of interest related to it all. Bitcoin Gold seems like someone just trying to capitalize on the success of the Segwit fork, and they didn't do a great job of advertising it, for a lack of better terms. It seems pretty obscure for a fork, compared to others I have seen.

how about this bitflyer? whether you will use those who have plans for bitcoin gold

A chain split (“split”) related to Bitcoin Gold (BTG) is scheduled to occur on October 25th. Our response to the chain split is as follows.1

・We will credit you with an amount of BTG corresponding to the amount of Bitcoin (BTC) in your bitFlyer account prior to the split. 2  If the BTG split is deemed by bitFlyer to be permanent and secure in regards to customer assets, you will be able to own both BTC and BTG in your bitFlyer account.

・Services allowing users to buy, sell, deposit, and send BTG are planned for release.

・No suspension of service is scheduled around the split. All bitFlyer services will continue running as usual.

I think its a japanese exchange although the texts are not in japanese but they are only accepting japanese yen, furthermore i sense a lot of uncertainty in their statement above^, in short your BTG's might get hold off for some various reasons. In the first fork a lot of exchanges/wallets made it seem that they'll credit their users BCH asap but they did not.

You can view the list of exchanges and wallets for BTG on their official site https://btcgpu.org/ although there's a bunch of exchanges I've never heard of so be careful if you're planning on storing your BTC's there before the fork. Still go for security
