Couldn't your argument be used for essentially every other alt coin, since they are all valued lower than bitcoin, so they all have a potential for greater percentage gains AND losses?  ???

BTC lost more buying power last night than the dollar has in the past decade !

Something that doesnt:

  • Have vendors
  • Have media coverage
  • Have widespread use
  • Is popular
  • Has cash flow
  • etc

Does NOT have potential.

end of story.

Sorry but fuck off with your "look my coin has potential, pls make me rich. here is my webs.com website" bullshit.

We dont need a fake market place to fool people we have got some FAKE services.

We at least didnt hype our coin with FAKE buy and sell transactions as some other coins.

We at least arent in for the quick profits. We are in for the long term. When we have the right people, right ideas than we will launch our services.

No drugs.

Narrow minded people think that something that is just a temporary thing will last forever.

Bitcoin will hardly be mentioned much at all if at all, in the long term future;

whereas Gold has stood the test of time, and is likely to continue to do so.

End of story

Man, you are crazy. No wonder the cult banned you...Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but currently, you can only buy GLD with LTC...So, you are suggesting, that people buy LTC with their BTC, then, use that LTC, to buy GLD...And since LTC volume, is pretty low on Cryptsy, which is the only exchange carrying your super coin, They'd have to send what ever BTC they are storing on Cryptsy, to another exchange, buy LTC, than send the LTC back to Cryptsy, to buy GLD....
That seems like an awful lot of work and fees, to buy a failing coin....

And I agree, he's not on drugs. He's diffidently on glue...

No it is not, it is just a name.

We live in a digital world. Bitcoin has become widely known and spread. Just because you coin has gold in its name doesn't mean people are more inclined to use it..

What? Do you want me to prophecy against the bitcoin?

English?

Anyone who thinks that 'bitcoin' will be anything at all in the long term future, is really stretching their imaginations quite a bit.

Computers or digital, are a temporary phase that will come to an end at some time, but Gold will likely still be around.

If Gold is still around, there will still likely be Gold coins too.

End of Story

That doesn't make any sense. GLD is digital, you idiot

I just named my lawn mower the 'GoldLawnMower' since by your logic anything that you lazily cram the name Gold in front of instantly becomes as valuable as actual physical gold bars.  I'm planning to survive the rapture by selling my GoldLawnMower for it's weight in food and shelter.

Also, I'm launching a mining operation where any of you GLD idiots can come to my yard and mine it with my GoldLawnMower.  I also have a PlatinumWeedEater that you can merge mine with.

I believe this is possible. Yes I do. ;D

In fact, I think that perhaps many of the alt coins may start to corner more and more of the market, eventually having more than bitcoin when all the alt-coins are combined.

Remember how internet explorer had such a monopoly, but now firefox and others have taken market share off of ie.

I try to buy a bitcoin, but they are so darn expensive, whereas I can get thousands and thousands of alt-coins for the same price,

and alt-coins might go up in value by 10x or 100x or 1000x much easier than the already inflated bitcoin

I think most alt-coin investors like this reasoning ?  I have sat and watched some of the alt-coins double or triple in a very short period of time, whereas bitcoin is very boring in comparison.

The saddest thing is that you are NOT trolling I think. Sure, some alt-coins double of tripple, and after that they go down fast and hard.

Title: Re: Bitcoin collapsing, Gold Up
Post by: YacLives on June 11, 2013, 07:19:09 AM

Due to the current high prices of bitcoin, speculative investors

might gain greater percentage gains from investing in

one or more alt-coins.

Alt coins are much less expensive than bitcoins at the moment.

Goldcoin is a new alt-coin that just started in May of 2013.

The potential rate of increase of GLDcoin is much greater than

the potential increase of bitcoin.

That is what I think anyways.

GLDcoin is currently traded at cryptsy.com under the symbol GLD

GLDcoin is traded with LTC at cryptsy.com

gldcointalk.org is the main forum website of gldcoin

GLDcoin has a blog at gldcoin.webs.com

And below is the main thread for GLDcoin in the alternative cryptocurrencies section
at bitcointalk.org
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=205789.0

I just thought I would let you all know, that there are likely much better opportunities
for large percentage gains in the altcoins, and GLDcoin is currently low priced.

Mate i see what your trying to do here but imo you are treading on some toes with no solid foundation of argument you are just putting words together in hope that it will all come true

but what i think you dont realize is what actually goes on behind the scenes when a "decent" product is launched and i am referring to a product because your trying to sell GLD and really it should sell itself

and its just about putting it out there for people to see and be able to use but what your doing is trying to compare something that isnt even established yet against something that paved the way

and sure Bitcoin may take a hit one day but its got a ton of stakeholders prepared to do what it takes to mould it and refine it

so you are talking about something that has built the very foundation you are using to build a currency on and if you want to make any coloration to gold itself then you must embrace the fact that real gold needs to be

heated and refined and in that process must go under alot of heat that brings all the dross to the surface it takes alot of energy to do but once all of the impurities are gone it is pure and appealing

this is what you must do with GLD imo and not bring attention to GLD by making wild uninformed unfounded claims about how it has more potential then something else

so keep at it mate but really u look kinda crazy atm and in my book have not done GLD any favors but as i said keep at it

P>S sorry for the crappy typing im really bad at it but im sure you get the gist of what im trying to say

I almost want to create an alt-coin called "Platinum Coin" (PTC), just to match the logic (well, anti-logic).  Just hang out on BTC-E; a lot of people are very public when they are about to perform a "pump and dump" and there are known market movers.  Right now I'm going to hit the town with some Asian co-workers attending E3... actual .999+ proof gold may be worth a lot in the long run but free booze and karaoke works for me right now =p.

nonetheless Gold will continue to be.

Share prices are inherently unpredictable short term and to some degree long term prices are a statistical phenomenon

as with any statistical effect you cant make a prediction except with some degree of probability

and since investors  some of whom own large blocks  can change their minds on a whim you can only make educated guesses about what or when those choices will be

Smart people ignore coins that have lousy names, and go for the coins with the better names.

I probably held more GLD then anybody at one point.  I would of held it longer if people wouldnt of continued to argue that it was the best coin because of the name, or continued to say it should of been worth 1000x more then it was.

Smart people know that the coins are all relatively equal, as being copy and paste from the first coin called bitcoin

Smart people know that it is the name that sets one coin apart from another coin, all things being equal because they are all copy and paste from the original coin called bitcoin

While I agree that the name holds value it is still worthless. Just because you call it gold doesn't mean it is gold... when it comes down to it it is all just ones and zeros

Smart people can see that buying a bitcoin at $100 is kind of expensive

Smart people can see that buying a Goldcoin at fractions of a penny is very cheap

Smart people can see that the potential percentage increase of Goldcoin by far, exceeds potential gains of bitcoin

Therefore Smart people are buying Goldcoins

Smart people can see that buying a house is kind of expensive.

Smart people can see that getting a box to live in for free from the grocery store is very cheap.

Smart people can see that the potential percentage increase of the cardboard box by far exceeds the potential gains of a house, if you sell it to someone who is really in need of a box.

Therefore smart people don't buy houses, they instead live in cardboard boxes that they can get for free!

Smart people know that the coins are all relatively equal, as being copy and paste from the first coin called bitcoin

Smart people know that it is the name that sets one coin apart from another coin, all things being equal because they are all copy and paste from the original coin called bitcoin

It is getting a bit repetitive, but I quote from myself again.

Goldcoin has the edge

How does GLD have the edge? You have no facts or at least any well thought out theories to support your claims.
