Title: America's Future Heroes
Post by: Franz McDinglehofmeisterb on October 22, 2017, 08:02:54 PM
Was reading about Bowe Bergdahl, and will point out the obvious that not everybody sees.

Back in the civil war, fighting was all about loyalty to your group. The pretext was a higher value but the reality was that the individual had to fight for a side.

By the Vietnam war the individual had become more important. There were still a lot of slow people, cowards who took their power from gangs and guns, but a lot of individuals were strong enough to defend whatever they saw as truth, even unarmed.

Today the military in the u.s. is a mix of horny old guys trying to fuck young soldierettes without getting caught, gays trying to externalize underdeveloped gonads, gender binary warriors trying to share confusion etc. Not everybody is on a viable long-term path but there is freedom to err.

The next obvious step, the future leader, is the person who engages the enemy alone, without gang or supporting firepower.

There are a few versions of what Bergdahl did, but the truth seems to be that, like Pat Tillman, he walked away from security and took his chances to find the truth.

Pat Tillman was shot in the back by coward scum afraid of people like him, and it seems likely that Bergdahl may meet the same fate.

Regardless, how the military treats him will be how the world treats the u.s. near future.

IT might be that you are trying to generalize the whole US army with this case while i believe that there are a lot of patriotic and good men who are trying to protect what is in their korals and codes while I think that you have a point we should always try to analyze and try to understand what the whole story is

Bergdahl is a home schooled type who was taught to verify truths.

He went out on his own to go face to face with the enemy, try to talk to them and understand their side.

Now the army is trying to blame him for soldiers who died while looking for him.

Part of what he did was take risks others were afraid to, and he paid the price.

When generals try to shift responsibility for a poorly thought out war, and shift responsibility for it's casualties, onto one of the very few people brave enough to look for real solutions, something is wrong with the army.

It's fine if some people want to be cowards, but he should not be punished for failing to be a coward.

And that's an unfair speculation considering that we, in the comfort of our homes, have really no idea of whatbots like to be out on the field. Probably there are those kind that you mentioned, but a lot of our soldiers are good people forced to be away from their families and being asked to risk their lives

And that's an unfair speculation considering that we, in the comfort of our homes, have really no idea of whatbots like to be out on the field. Probably there are those kind that you mentioned, but a lot of our soldiers are good people forced to be away from their families and being asked to risk their lives

That is one of the big lies about war.

Thousands of years ago a clan would sometimes be forced to defend their people from external attack, and those defenders became legends, heroes.

At some point recently, young people are taught that if they want to become a legend there are certain shortcuts they can take. For example they can obtain a lot of money. Or they can get some kind of social or political power. Or they can join their countries military and pretend that they are fighting evil.

Bowe Bergdahl went along the path, up to the point of pretending, at which point he demonstrated leadership and put the common pretense to the test, which others were afraid to do.

There is a lot of social pressure to pretend soldiers are heroes, but in fact the vast majority of soldiers are cowards hiding in a group. They make a social contract to defend one another on the basis of membership in the group, rather than on ideals or values, and that is the signature of a gang of cowards.

Bergdahl stood above and outside the group, and the fact that he was then attacked by the group he stepped up to lead bodes ominously for the United States.

You might believe you are helping your buddies by pretending they are heroes 'forced to be away from their families and risking their lives'. But you are enabling cowards who are destroying the country. You and the coward soldiers you defend are in the majority, and honest people like Bergdahl who do not respect gangsterism are easy for groups of coward soldiers to attack, but it would be wise to give Bergdahl a chance to articulate himself publicly without being forced to pretend things by coward gangster thugs who are trying to pretend they are heroes.

Kind of ironic that America's official motto is Anybody can be a hero, all you have to do is put on a uniform and go to a stranger's country, whose culture you don't understand, and kill them and yet now we are allowing people to become heroes by attacking our own best soldiers, people like Bergdahl and Tilman and others.

America's future heroes will be completely imaginary, they will live only in the fake news and fake documentaries of the mainstream media.

Those are today's heroes.

We won't have real heroes again until we stop calling the real heroes traitors.

Well, I was implying exactly what you have said in an explicit way :) So we agree :)

You can even disband the army and support rumors that you have a huge army

As technology goes, the most dangerous armies in reality are the fake ones built on rumor.
