Well, what's the problem, after the fork bitcoin falls a little, you can sell a little and invest in altcoyins, they are promising, and now the price for them is acceptable. So I am for developing the alternative and the emergence of competitors.

It is not definite that the price of bitcoin will decrease after fork. According to veteran traders, the market of bitcoin is speculated to touch $7000.
However, if you are still interested to sell some amount of bitcoin and want to buy altcoins, i would like to suggest some altcoins which have long term potential.

In short you are "gambling" because no one can tell Bitcoin price will go down or go up after the fork. Don't be too greedy, whatever you decide to do, friendly advice ;)

Theres no problem about that, that was the life of traders sometimes if he not longer hold it maybe he can sell it in a good price the only thing that I am telling you is that bitcoin is not yet over. Yes, it's good now to buy altcoins while btc is higher this will be the great season for us to buy some good and potential coins. It will make us more excited while btc getting higher, buy some alts.

What do yo mean altcoins should be bought when important news comes out about them? That is explicitly when the pump occurs and you would want to sell them if you want to get some profit. Buying should be on the dip and not the tip. However you may think otherwise.

The second part of your post is also not correct. There is currently a pump occurring in the price of bitcoin and the altcoins are generally showing a dump. This is a good time to buy some altcoins which you previously could not buy due to high price.

For me. if the occurrence of segwit2 I will still hold my bitcoin after segwit2 finish, maybe bitcoin will back up from current price.

just to remind you that BTC has forked before, and many said back then (BTC Cash) that the coin wouldn't survive, it's sitting at the moment on about six billion US dollars and it doing just fine. It initially reduced the price of BTC but it later stabilized as it's usually the case with crypto coins in general. Buying altcoins even before the fork would be a good idea imo, since everyone will run after them, you'll be already invested and get the early gains from all the players "escaping" BTC. If something big (bad) would happen to BTC the closest thing to profit from it would be Litecoin, it's the most likely competitor and a good hedge against the king of crypto's. Make sure to have a stack in ETH as well, as it's the "main" altcoin and everything is being build around it nowadays (it's having soon a fork itself, which will settle in a couple of months after it has been thoroughly tested). It will add some privacy features which will definitely give an important boost to ETH.

To my mind you have two options and it depends on your beliefs about bitcoin gold, either sell now and buy alts or sell immediately as the fork happens and buy alts then. You may not get your alts quite as cheap doing the latter but you will get free bitcoin gold.

I like to sell some Bitcoins when the price is high and buy a good altcoin that is low. I think the real trick is getting the altcoin at a good price. Really both the Bitcoin sell price is important and the altcoin buy price as well.

If you have a portfolio of several coins, this strategy can help you increase the coins you have by timing the highs and lows. I suggest sticking with some of the major altcoins that are going to continue increasing in value.

Then if its true that bitcoin value will become higher then to make sure of it i will buy altcoins after the fork to ensure that everything is ok. We really dont know what will happen to crypro currency this time during SegWit2X because no one can see the future that all are 100% speculation that bitcoin is good during the fork. To make it 100% sure i suggest we will wait for the event to happen because this is not a race of altcoins but just to ensure that we are safe to invest the selected altcoins because we are selling our bitcoins.

I personally doubt that the alt coin bottom is in yet, at least for the market in general. There may be some that show short- to mid-term potential, but to me personally the risk would be to high to bet on the wrong horse. There's simply too much bullshit abound.

Why you want to buy the altcoins with the bitcoin bro. If you hold the bitcoin you have in your wallet also increase the as price rises in the chart. You will get the profit according to the amount your saved only. So you can save the bitcoin because altcoins are not stable since it is very cheap and you bought huge amount altcoins for one bitcoin means you will loose more than the amount you saved in the form of bitcoin.
Cheap altcoins will be more cheaper after the fork since we are seeing dump in all the altcoins from the past two days.

I agree and I also did heard a lot from veteran traders stating that Bitcoin will reach $7000 next month. I would hold on to my Bitcoins if I were you and if you have spare money to spend on some altcoins then these would be good choices for long term investment including NEM and Ethereum on the list above mentioned.

After the fork is definitely not the best time to buy altcoins in my opinion, as it's most likely that people would be hoarding alts after the fork as well after claiming the bitcoinGold coins, so I personally expect a slight sharp rise in alts moments after the fork when people realize that they already received their bitcoingold.

I disagree and definitely NOT all altcoins will have their glory days. There's too much shitcoins out there to glorify "altcoins" in general. Probably only a small percentage of all altcoins will live on to the next decade.

Yes, for sure, after the hard fork there will be a changes in  BTC price because investors will invest in some altcoins because it will be a great chance to earn more when you invest in altcoins when it is at the lowest price.

What are we really all about here? Hasn't Bitcoin been forked already? I doubt because the bitcoingold is already listed on some exchanges as we speak at over $600 per coin. Yobit.io has it listed. Binance also has it. So, is there another fork after this important listing?

well, maybe this is a good time to buy altcoins because their prices are very low. And after the hard fork, there is a big possibility that they will sell their bitcoin to buy altcoins. Bitcoin is now expensive cause of the hard fork. And people will focus back to altcoins when the hard fork finished.

I always try to follow the Warren Buffet's principle of investment, he says when others are greedy, be fearful and be greedy when others are fearful. Thus, I would suggest you that go with the alt-coins where others are not willing to buy (but still the coin is having a good potential). Do not buy everything in one single order, diversify your investment in multiple price levels to reduce your average investment cost as less as possible in order to gain profit immediately in case of bounce back in the price.

It's your choice depending on your risk appetite. In cryptocurrency trading, you must consider how these cryptocurrencies differ in demand, supply and value. Bitcoin has already been number 1 for years now and makes it more stable in terms of return on investment compared to others. But if you want to risk out and try altcoins, which can eaither give you higher and better returns or lower return, then try on analyzing the Altcoin history pricr graph and make an educational guess on where to buy at low price and sell at high price.

This kindbof scenario after hardfork of bitcoin are always happen so yes that was the right thing to do sell some btc then buy some altcoin that really have a potential. But i must say nit all your btc cause we all know the ability of this coin we know that the price of this coin will surely pump again.

Actually you should start buying altcoin at this stage only because during the fork period only alts are deepest down and can get you loads of it at cheaper rates. That’s the strategy everyone follows in first place and that’s why we see bitcoin pumping and alts dumping. Those who dump alts actually creating opportunities for those who believe in alts for future investment. So it’s like someone is loosing for you and you should create the wealth at that right point.

I would like to share my honest thoughts in this matter with all of you. Recently, I have seen many people who want to sell out bitcoin and buy altcoins because they are expecting few famous altcoins to make large price jumps when the BTG will be released. Past has a great way to repeat itself.

In the previous BTC correction at 4500usd. Alt coins are not yet on its lowest deep so theres no pumping happened. But now all coins specially Eth, Ltc, Dash, STR are now on its perfect takeoff position.

if bitcoin price is down too deep then it is time for altcoin to get increase and there is many altcoin have the good potential to gets back higher. and you can trying from now on to search the altcoin that could bring you a good profit but you need to analyze for every altcoin you want to buy and don't forget to take a look in the chart about the trends of the altcoin because sometimes we are trap in lower price but the price is down for more so be careful to decide.

That’s correct thing to do at this point. But we should really wait until November because that’s the exact period when we will know what’s up with the bitcoin and altcoin rates. I mean during this fork period it might happen that people start dumping the bitcoin and buy altcoins so as to pump all he coins. Which means it could be good to buy bitcoin at lowest and wait for its next pump it’s come. As demand increase bitcoin increase by couple of thousand dollars thus making it more profitable as compared to alts.

At situations like this, wherein bitcoin's value is considerably high, I would suggest to hold, however, if already have enough bitcoins with you, it is up to you if you want to cash out, still as investors, we cannot pass on this moment that altcoins are on a bargain, we should also invest on altcoins that we see are going to be a leader in crypto currency as well. For me, rather than choosing which among the two should I go for, Bitcoin or altcoins, I would rather have both, since both have positive sides and negative sides, and in time, will give you profit, so why not have both, but if you mainly want to focus on bitcoins and not altcoins or vice-versa, it will be up to you, since both investments will just have the same risk, and Bitcoin having a high value already, could give you a glimpse on what altcoin's value could become.

Bitcoin price is about %5600 now. I think you should wait until it recovers at least $6000. After that, you can sell and buy altcoin. Some altcoins I suggest are Modero, Ripple, ETH and Monacoin.

btc had its pump the last 3 weeks. next 3 weeks dont expect to much, so yeah, try the altcoin train. but none of those bubble/nofeature/nocommunity coins...

Any sort of coin if you are dealing in, don’t matter what is it, what properties it hold, that would be best when it comes to the highest price coming in market. Since there is a fork happening. I am not changing my altcoins into bitcoins and store it to have BTG. I would lose a big amount of money if I do that. So I will just hodl my altcoins. Oh, this time around is the best buy for altcoins. Almost all alts are blood bath so go and buy right now. Selling bitcoin is now good since it is still at 5,500 mark.

I think you should wait a little more since November fork is not yet finished ( obviously) but you can get the opportunity to buy waves while it's price is very low. "Forking makes your Bitcoin higher" ? Maybe before forking but as what we can see bitcoin dipped after the fork.

It actually going to be on the basis of where you have your allegiance. While some people will hold the believe that this is the time to buy altcoin, others will prefer to stick and hold their coins. In my own case, I would prefer to not sell all bitcoin for the sake of alt coin rather, I would spread my risk to ensure that I don't lose out on both ends and at the same time be more careful about the choice of investments in alt coins because as they could return profit quickly, they could also return losses as well.

Well, if you can find yourself some pretty good altcoin, you can just hold some of them a little while you still have your bitcoin for the fork. However, even though we do not know how fast most of these altcoins are going to get pumped, I would advise you wait a little until after the fork and quickly buy some and then see how events turn out while you cash out profit.

Do not get too greedy though, no matter how little you get, dump it and wait for the next fork cause I still perceive some more bleeding before then.

No one can tell you which coin to buy at an exact point in time, you just have to watch closely yourself and make those decisions on which one you are purchasing based on the value at that point and the possibility of it increasing in value in a shortwhile. As good as you can make profit from altcoins is the same way you can lose badly when they get dumped. So you have to just stay smart.

Everything you said was a hammer to the head of a nail except those in bold, altcoins are more apt for speculation and their relatively low capitalization, creates room for manipulations, so they hardly worth the while as long term investments.. 

We can see that most almost all altcoins made some recovery after the split, but the market generally is anticipating  Segwit2x (B2X) so the market for altcoins would most likely be ranging as most traders would prefer to still hodl Bitcoin to collect  B2X airdrop.

yes, that is the good time to buy Altcoin. Because 1 week ago, Altcoins price have fallen down because people sell altcoin to buy Bitcoin for hard folk.

Given the recent drop in alt coins, this does seem like a decent time to buy.  But be choosey.  Don't just buy an alt coin because it dropped 20% or 50% or even 90%.  Look at historical price ranges for where a coin's price has bottomed in the past.  Check out the latest news on the coin.  If it looks cheap compared to where it's bounced before, and if it has news going for it, now might be a great time to buy.  Otherwise, be careful since the next fork in a few weeks could cause another drop in alt coin prices.

lf we were expecting a major correction in the price of Bitcoin, I think we're going to have to wait till the November hard fork. Until then more buying pressure on Bitcoin should be expected, that is the bias of the community and so we might see price attempting the $7000 mark before then.

Currently buying altcoins is a good idea as everyone thinking that bitcoin price will drop and altcoins will rise. There are some altcoins which are highly profitable to hold if you are planning to hold it for long term then invest in ETH, Waves and XRP as these coins are great for holding long term.

The cloud is still not clear yet but since some coins have not really risen that much, it is still very good to buy them now with the hope of getting some profits before the next fork. It is normal with the altcoin markets, most are still not receiving that much attention yet as most traders do not want to go in too deep yet knowing that there is another upcoming fork.

I feel this is just the best advise anyone can give the OP. If the OP knows he cannot trade effectively and probably know the right time to buy into a coin, then he should not bother.
Now is good anyway, knowing most of the coins will get pumped back and as soon as a decent profit is realized, it is best to sell and wait for another dip. Being too greedy looking for a very high profit is what has caused most people to lose their coins.

My strategy is simple, I do not want to watch the charts all day long. If you do not have a lot of money it is always going to be risky trying to multiply your investment jumping here and there. Therefore find a small coin and save and the rest is history.
I am in for the mid to long term. Therefore there are good entry points right now for the long term coins

Altcoins too provide good profit with the growth that happens with time. Here the risk is big, because we have lots and lots of altcoins that need to be chosen for investment. Recently focusing fork lot users switched to altcoins for security reasons and now few could have got lucky to profit based on the choice of coin selection as altcoins have begun to grow in value.

It is apparently not definite and honestly, from my own point of view, I do not see so many people dumping their BTC for alts knowing even the November Hard Fork is coming. I foresee people dumping their BTG and using it to buy alts anyway for profit but will not  last long. We hopefully just wait and see how everything turns out.

I guess only people who are not believing into the future of bitcoins may go for dumping bitcoins for securing altcoins. But in reality no alt can secure our future :o

There is something to be said for diversification.  People certainly have the most confidence in bitcoin right now, but that means that it doesn't have the same explosive growth potential as alt coins (but of course it has less risk).  Even some of the other big-name alts have good potential.  Some people have even speculated that coins like Ethereum could catch up to bitcoin in price someday.

I don't think that we should wait for the future to start  trading , Because every time we should look towards the perfect timing not the perfect day to start.
Here currently we can see that hardfork has been completed and we need now to start trading blindly .
Here the question is arise that which we should buy and which we should not .
Currently the price is high and I don't think that it will go to  dump Because it is stable price looking much ( but may be can go to dump 100-200$ maximum which is not a big amount .
Currently best suggestion to buy the altcoin is bitcoin cash and bitcoin gold both .

Why do you think that bitcoin cash and bitcoin gold are good investments?  Everything I've read from veteran bitcoiners says that they immediately dumped/will dump everything they have of both of these because they're basically worthless.  Neither was created with the consent/approval of the broader community, and with how similar they are to bitcoin (and inferior in some ways), it sounds like there's virtually no chance that they will ever be competitive with the original bitcoin.

as long as they cant show any relevant uses then they still don't have any chance to be on top from the original bitcoin because of the popularity and the actual
purpose of this system people already got engaged and love investing their money, they might be using btc to buy alts and start to growing their assets its another way of earning bitcoin.

Altcoins are reciprocal to bitcoins. It means whenever the price of bitcoin is increased, altcoins are enough in market that makes the price of altcoin decreased. As now, bitcoin is touching $6000 while altcoins are just stacked to $400 or around.

So if you want to take a wise decision, buy altcoins but don’t sell bitcoins. If you have enough money, buy more altcoins and later trade them.

It is a good idea. You must try altcoin trading because there are a lot of altcoins today that are really profitable. Bitcoin is a good investment and also altcoin is a good investment.

Exactly, you have to be vigilant, watch deeply and be sure of the coin you want to get into. Analyze the charts pretty well and see a coin worth buying at this stage and the possibility of quickly getting your profit so you do not get to buy a pumped coin already. Some of the pumped coins will still experience the same fate and it is best to relax and get back in when the chance is right.

The time to buy alt coins was yesterday after they announced that the fork wasn't going to happen since it seemed like a lot of people dumped alt coins to get more bitcoin before the fork (of course it's easy to say that in hindsight).  However, alts may still see some good rallying in the near future, especially if bitcoin drops some more.  A lot of the more minor alts have been beaten down pretty badly, and even the major alts like ETH haven't kept up with bitcoin's rise the past couple of weeks.  Watch for breakouts.
