Simply tell'em it's a 6000 $ per unit  ;) ;) he will run from starting statue to pro one ... Just tell him it's a virtual money that doesn't exist physically , it's a new tech allowing people to send money online in a decentralised way ; in such case there's no need for 3rd part

I'd tell them that Bitcoin is a trustless, transparent, peer-to-peer decentralized digital currency. But that depends on how technologically literate the person is generally. I wouldn't say that to an older person who might not be as familiar with technology as younger people.
I would then direct them to this page: https://bitcoin.org/en/faq & this forum.
And tell them to Google any additional questions they have.

I would tell them to read satoshi whitepaper themselves thats the only way they will be able to understand it and they can revisit it when they don't understand anything.

I can explain to a newbie how bitcoin works in a very simple to complex way. Ofcourse,  they are just a beginner so they wouldn't understand the deep side of bitcoin. I will first let them to become interested about bitcoin by telling them my own experience, hard work, dedication I've spent to earn money and knowledge here. After that, if I've already seen the curiousty in their eyes,  then I will them to them what are the ways to access it and also I will give them some beginners tips  so that they would not experience too much difficulty in joining bitcoin.

That's a lot like the version I tell them too! I actually just say it's just like a currency, it's digital and it doesn't need you to trust a bank or service to make sure you can send and receive it. Let's face it: this is how most of us first learnt about Bitcoin... the trustless, decentralised P2P nature came in next and that got us hooked.

It's way too early to show people technically complex videos and guides. I recall that experiment in 2014 when MIT students were given Bitcoin. More than half immediately converted it to cash, and only a handful of the rest went on to learn and understand Bitcoin properly. It's not as easily understood by the majority of people.

We just need to accept the fact the some of the people don't know bitcoin yet. Some of them know and become interested of it but do not know how to start bitcoin. In order for you to explain the concept of bitcoin in a simplest way to them is to ask them first what is their knowledge about bitcoin. It could be your starting point and that is knowing where you coukd start explaining to them about the concept of bitcoin. After knowing how far their knowledge is, start explaining and correcting the false ideas they have said. And then tell them to get access unto it and how they can earn due to their hardwork and determination.

There are a lot of use cases for Bitcoin, some for which Bitcoin more viable than others. You don't have to be rich for any of those, however.

I would going to tell all my experience here in using bitcoin. But before that I will explain how bitcoin work and what bitcoin is by giving an example so that it will be easy for them to understand it. Giving an example is the best way for me because its like an evidence that you can show to them. I will also give them some articles about bitcoin that they can read if they are really interested on it.

Well if ever I saw that they are really interested to know the essential things on bitcoin then I will be willing to explain it to them . Explaining it to them is not that really hard it will be only complicated for them if we are going to put such words as "you can earn money here" because their focus will not be on bitcoin but to the way that they can earn, just tell them what is its purpose, what makes it to be good to consider on its purpose, what bitcoin is capable of and the common question from others is "how come bitcoin has a value" .

Explaining about the bitcoin is really what matter's the most for its growth and now explaining more about the bitcoin is what makes feel good when we teach the guy who is in need of using bitcoin transactions at the most important level. Actually i was referred to this forum and about bitcoin from one of my friend's clear explanation and today even i am referring bitcoins to my friends,to my relatives and also about this forum. there is No need to worry about anything you just need to explain in simple and understandable way with recent or past example like this "Peer to Peer payment gateway system with less commission" and i am sure that you will explained in much better way.

I would say how bitcoin started, when it started, its uses on the world and so on, bitcoin protocol was started in 2009 as a digitized currency by the pseudonym satoshi Nakamoto. Bitcoins are stored in a wallet only the user's have sole right to control their own wallets, bitcoins can be transferred from any where in the world to anyone without a third party involvement unlike banks, this system has brought financial freedom to everyone and all the bitcoin transactions are recorded in the public ledger called the blockchain technology anyone can keep track of the bitcoins in the blockchain technology. Bitcoin is a good investment option as the value of bitcoins always keeps on booming over time.

The most difficult it is that most of people they do not even know how FIAT works, they not even imagine that FED it is a private bank which sells USD to USA...even a lot of people still thinking that money it is backed by gold... so I think the best way it is to explain them how fiat works and after that explain what is bitcoin it is going to be very easy.

;D most revealing advice so far.  Ask why they might be interested in Bitcoin and pitch to that.  You can tell them about anonymity, transactions to anyone in the world etc and they'll shrug their shoulders if none of this applies to them.  You can start explaining about how it bypasses the banking system and they may well roll their eyes, do they care?  Or you could pitch that its a global internet based investment that has grown from nothing, worth thousands, get involved and it has benefits of transactions etc.

But I think it is not so easy to convince a person and specially a newbie. If you are going to explain bitcoin to a newbie, it is too much important that you must also have good knowledge about bitcoin. you can also give him a practical example of yourself, through which we can more easily convince a person about bitcoin.

I think what you're going to explain to that person is this forum website not the bitcoin itself.
It is better to explain to the person if what is the potential of the coin in the future. And the
difference of the coin to gold and fiat currency.

My answer would be on how it was explained to me. Provide the link to beginners & help section and have your buddy read the post in there. Explaining bitcoin will complicate things especially if someone was talking about bitcoin and have no idea about. When my friend was talking about it, I really don't understand a thing. I told him to send me the link and I will try to study it. Until now, there's a lot of things a don't know but I can learn things by reading the threads on this forum.

Bitcoin is a digital crypto currency that is not controlled by any country's central bank or government. Bitcoins can be traded for goods or services with vendors who accept Bitcoins as payment.
Each user's Bitcoins are stored in a program called a digital wallet, which also holds each address the user sends and receives Bitcoins from.

Those cookies are Bitcoins and you are the teacher, and your classmates are the computer, you command your computer. First, when we want to teach a newbie about bitcoin, we must have a very patient attitude and understand how bitcoin works to make everyone successful with the cryptocurencies. After that, teach them step by step about what is mining / faucet / trading or ect. and the last let them try to work alone.

Especially older ones, we had to admit that young people are most technical than grandma and grandpa. But i really do believe that it just depends on the person explaining the BTC. I had read some comments/reply regarding to this and i found out that theres a lot of videos and articles that really explain well about BTC.

Lol, well as a newb still - I tell anyone that asks that Bitcoin is the flagship of the crypto-currency world. And that crypto-currency is digital currency that is created from using dedicated computing power or bought and sold through exchanges just like stocks etc which can either be used for investing in like gold, or used like fiat currency for day to day transactions dependant on the crypto you have. I also tell them that all of this happens semi decentralized from governments and banks depending on your location in the world and that you can use it to move money around the world without traditional forex restrictions.

The responses I have to put up==> all I'm doing is giving my computing power to Russian hackers and that most likely I'm supported drug dealers and terrorists and mobsters and that all my computers are most likely just ovverrun with viruses and that I'll end up paying 10x in power what I can make on mining....

Verdict - don't explain crypto to a group of negative people. Just tell them its an digital asset and if they want in to go research it themselves.

But they can't touch it. No government hold bitcoin so people will freely mine it. Then they will ask you why bitcoin value has very large. Then I would answer them like this. Bitcoin price is very large because bitcoin has a limited stocks. Bitcoin are limited becase 21,000,000 bitcoin only had made. So time by time bitcoin will grow up his value.

Being a newbie to the bitcoin needs more learning. The same is possible with our forum and for reference can go through Google and other sources. This is how I've been insisted to follow to make myself strong in using of bitcoin and to gain good knowledge about it.

At the beginner's place, first of all I would take care of the good security of my coins, good protection is the basis. At the beginning I would not invest huge sums because it is easy to lose by excessive risk. All you have to do is be patient and step by step you will reach the goal.

What is Bitcoin (bitcoin, btc, Btk, bitcoin) in simple words? This is a new generation of decentralized digital currency, created and operating only on the Internet. No one controls it, currency issuance occurs through the work of millions of computers around the world, using a program to calculate mathematical algorithms. This is the essence of bitcoin.

In my opinion, one of the best ways to actually understand a new topic would be "Explain like Im five" kind of articles / videos.
When you understand the core and the basics of anything, it becomes simpler to move forward with it.
I like this video - https://www.cryptoryx.com/what-is-bitcoin/

Goes through the general idea of what is Bitcoin in less than 2 minutes.

It's quite a difficult task, so I do not do it. My friend told me about Bitcoin a few years ago and I did not believe it myself, which is why I know that others will also understand what a virtual coin is.

I always explain Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies by explaining what the blockchain is. In general I do that with the example of a phone book. A distributed ledger, as the blockchain is, is like a public phonebook (register) where everyone has the same copy of, if anyone makes a change in it, everybody has to verify the change. Its hard to explain this in english to me. In my language I can explain it pretty good I think, and most of the time people understand it after I explained it to them.

As newbie, I prefer not to get explanation from other people before I get knowledge from my own research.
Then when someone explain to me, I'm not blind at all. And it's become something like enrichment.
That's my preferences as a newbie, and I'll do the same when I have to explain to newbies.
I'll let them get their own references first, and I will explain and complete information he/she didn't get.
