I have made nummerous clean installs of Windows 10 PRO. But every time i want to install the AMD drivers and restart my pc. My Startbutton & taskbar stops working and computer is slow.

Things i have tried.

Installing Windows with Ethernetcable connected. Then letting Windows update do his thing. Then install all my MOBO drivers. Then install my AMD drivers.

Installing Windows without Ethernetcable. Switching Windows update off. Then turning on ethernet and installing drivers MOBO following by the AMD drivers.

Installing the AMD driver in first pcie16 slot and then hook up the other 5. If i install the drivers on the first gpu and restart everything works. But when i hook up the other 5 and restart . Start and taskbar doesn't work.

Ive tried other drivers. Ive tried doing it manual.

Im getting desperate now. Don't know what causes this.

When i delete the drivers with DDU in safe mode and restart the pc. Everything works again.

Should i use the HDMI cable connected to a gpu  when installing AMD drivers ? Or do it need to disable integrated gpu ?.

Im using the integrated gpu for installation...

Anybody!?

How long are you waiting after the install? I ask because I know sometimes after installing a fresh copy of Windows and/or even Drivers, the system still is updating things in the background that can cause symptoms like these. If you have 6 GPUs, the driver needs to install for each one, usually you will notice this by the periodic screen flashing. Again, this process can take awhile making your system appear to not be working when indeed it is still installing drivers. Depending on the speed of your computer, hard drive, and Internet connection, it can take upwards of 20-30 minutes for all these background tasks to complete.

This could be perhaps the problem. When i install the driver for my first gpu. I switch off the pc. Hook up the remaining 5 and fire the pc back on. Tinder of they are listed on device manager. If they are i usually restart the pc. So maybe im restarting to fast ?

Check your PC Utilization, you can see which processes eats up your CPU and memory resources, try to install 1 GPU first and observe, if successful and seems fine, then add the GPU's one at a time.

Well, if they are all listed in Device Manager without any ? or ! mark errors  they should be ready to go. But while you got it open also check DM for any other drivers that need to be installed. Usually HDMI sound (part of the GPU) also needs to install, and possibly some PCI related components if you are using risers. I usually just let it do its thing and come back to it after some amount of time. However, even if you do reboot too fast, Windows is pretty good about picking up where it left off.

Best you can do is try to give it more time after installing the drivers and report back. Another thing you can try is under System->Advanced System Settings->Advanced Tab->Performance->Settings is to check the radio button for Adjust for Best Performance. This cuts down on a lot of the visual fluff which you don't need to mine with and may be contributing to your problem.

Okay should i install Windows without ethernet and disable it right away and do the drivers manually.

Or should i let Windows Update do it's thing ?

Do you have both NVIDIA and AMD drivers installed? Have you tried DDU-ing the NVIDIA driver?

I have the same problem as yours but it only starts to become slow after around 30 minutes of mining. Im using the BIOSTAR TB-250 mother board and latest win10 version.

But i've actually learned to live with it lol. Mining hash rate is unaffected anyway.

Yes i have the integrated Intel gpu driver installed.
I haven't ddu the nvdia driver yet.
I just installed a fresh OS and installed all the GPUs seperately. And after the sixth card restart. Windows start/taskbar stopped working.
I know hashrate is not affected. But you cant OC with AF because it's hella slow

DDU all AMD/NV drivers.
Disable igpu. Check bios settings to choose PCIe first as display. Check specific bios settings for mining(4g encoding and so on)
If you changend PCIe Slots of your Cards maybe your mainboard bios needs a reset.
Are you sure your PSU is able to handle this?

8GB DDR4
H110- D3A MOBO
1000 WATT PSU
4400 CPU

I had it already run with windows @ stockspeed ~820-830watss. And OC'ed ~890watts. Don't think PSU is the issue here.

The problem aswell. I can't use the HDMI port on the GPU's because the fans are mounted there.

I think more likely its Windows side. I had it working with Windows with a previous build.

The bios MOBO requires 1703 or more. And everything in the BIOS is set like it showed in the manual.

Should i do a MOBO reset and restart ?

I just manage it to work.
Looks like the DDU of the Intel GPU die the trick.
After the restart of DDU i turned off the pc and restarted.
Windows works normal again.

So i guess it was Integrated/extern GPU issue.

I'm doing another stock run. At the wall i'm getting 820w.
Is there other things in the bios i can switch off to reduce my energy. Except my integrated gpu ofcource.

EDIT: So i just did a restart and issue is back.
If i switch off pc and restart. It's gone.
When i do a normal restart it's back....

Windows up to date?
Mobo Bios up to date?
Chipset driver installed?

You can switch off everthing in bios you don't need, sound, usb ports.

Everything is up to date. I think have Windows build 1709. Andni ran Windows update for the remaining driver updates.
Mobo has latest BIOS installed.
Chipset driver is installed.

Instead of wasting all that time troubleshooting Windows you could just install one of the linux based mining distros and be done with it. You will have a stable, reliable miner that you dont ever have to mess with. Windows is shit for mining, it is only used by people too lazy to learn something better.

Display attached to GPU in 16x Slot?
RAM compatibility with your Mobo is ok?
How many risers on one 4Pin Molex/SATA cable?

I just tried another AMD driver latest one 17.7.2
And problem still persists. When i turn off and on the pc. Problem is gone. When i do a restart.
Problem is back.

I do have to note when i want to open Sapphire TRIXX it's extremely laggy and Cant even insert the right settings.

Could this be due to a bad flash of cards?

Maybe yes, could also be a a power/usb connection, faulty riser, too much power draw on your rails.

Tried disabling igpu and problem still persists.

Try this:
regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTME/CUrrentControlSet/Service/WpnUserService
Double click on the value (DWORD): Start
Change Data to 4 then OK
Reboot.
