Further rumors are surfacing that Amazon will announce a Bitcoin-related innovation Thursday, as a German newspaper fuels speculation.

In an article Tuesday, Die Welt reported that fintech sources in Silicon Valley were echoing previous hints from investor James Altucher that the global giant could soon integrate Bitcoin as a payment option.

Altucher made the comments in a report last month, citing Thursday’s conference call as a D-Day moment for Amazon and Bitcoin.

Ahead of the call, which anyone can listen to, momentum that the rumors actually hold substance are mounting.

“Even if the Oct. 26 date is not set in stone, Bitcoin introduction should probably be expected soon,” Die Welt writes.

Amazon has proven itself as one of the best, if not the best, online retail in all the states and even other countries. With that, as Bitcoin continues to increase in both demand and price, Amazon is just taking advantage of what might be the options and preferences of their customers in paying. Bitcoin as the number one cryptocurrency or digital currency is a good avanue for businesses like Amazon to let their customers that they are still improving and open to these developments.

I still consider it rumors unless amazon has confirmed that they have indeed accepting bitcoin. But I have doubts that they will, if they will accept it, they should have made their announcement yesterday. So I don't know what's holding them for announcing it expect that they are not going to accept bitcoin for now. I try to remain positive but their silence proves otherwise. Maybe we need to wait or a few more years before amazon will re-consider it.

It is still a rumor and nothing else. But yesterday the price peak up because of this rumor, we even almost touched $6000. However, the price goes down to $5800 today, which is still a good and strong price. Going back to Amazon, I think there's no update yet so everyone has its own speculation on whether they would really give in to the demands of its customers. Maybe the team behind is still deliberating as to how it can bring more profits to them, but common sense will tell us that it can really bring tons of customers and profit because a lot of them will really used bitcoin as mode of payment on their store. Let's wait though, maybe they can come up with a concrete answer at the end of this month.

If Amazon was smart, they would start to accept BTC just to spite Overstock.com. I don't think it will bring too much money to them, tho. Everyone I know with BTC is a HODLer...

I don't believe it. Today 27.10. Amazon said that they will accept bitcoins 26.10. Where is the action? It seems to me that this advertising campaign which must be constantly warm interest in Amazon. But even if they take this step it will not be soon. Sorry. This would give a good impetus for the development of bitcoin.
