Title: Running an Avalon 741
Post by: edrich on October 26, 2017, 02:46:39 PM
Hi, I am thinking of buying a second hand Avalon 741 on a local site, Is the setup of the miner easy? Or is it a complicated process to get the miner running? Sorry if its a stupid question, I just want to make sure that i'll actually get it going.
Thanks

If you are buying it second hand it might not come with a controller to run it. You will want a raspberry pi 3 flashed with the Avalon OS image if it does not come with one. Other than making sure you have that the setup is quite easy.

Along that ^^ line, does it come with the AUC adapter and cable to go between the RasPi and miner?
Info on creating the RasPi Avalon OS image is here (https://canaan.io/question/how-do-i-connect-an-avalonminer-721-and-avalonminer-controller-including-raspberry-pi-1-2-and-3/).
