I posted this thread because I  have money right now and was thinking to like invest!
I wanted to know is it is beneficial to invest in new ICO, or should I just buy some BTC and wait for the value to increase.

For me at the moment, buying Bitcoin represents better value, an Ico may have potential and could grow and make good money, but bitcoin is the closest thing to a sure thing. Not saying there is anything like a sure thing, but it comes closest.

For me it depends on the person who owned the bitcoin, not all of us are the same which wanting to risk our money, some of them are scared and just keep it to their wallet for long period of time but me i always wanting to invest in other method to maximized the uses of my bitcoin and it could helps to increase my earnings.

Some ICOs do fail at the end and you may not get profits as expected. It is must to investigate all aspects of an ICO before making investment.
While choosing ICO for your investments, it is necessary to read their whitepaper carefully, check social media connections, idea of business etcitra before putting money in it.
Buying bitcoins was always good and still known as a stable trade option in crypto economy.

It depends on you, Honestly Investing is a BIG thing and you must learn what is investing first and the risks behind each investment. It also depends on what ICO you are investing, some ICOs or let's say mostly of it were made for pump and dump, so you have to choose wisely on what ICO you are investing in. Again, it may Altcoin or BTC , Investing has risks, know the risks you can afford.

There is no business without risk and for ICOs,there is risk of future uncertainty but remember that there no venture no success. If you have the money to invest in ICO that is a good business idea.

BTC is a steady investment which will take time to grow.

If you are looking for very HIGN returns - invest in ICO's - I have bought at 0.02 USD and sold at 0.89 USD in a matter of weeks on carefully researched ICO's.

For me, Ill just do both :D ,because I cant rely on investing on this many ICO's spouting alone since we dont know if their project really is successful at the end right? ,so we jsut better buy btc and hold as we all know bitcoin is really beast to its price.

Buying Bitcin is just like holding gold in your safe,price flunctuation will determine your profit and this migth take a while,but when you invest in a well research ICO your profit can be access in a day, I advice you settled down to research about a promising ICO,you won"t regret the decision.

If you have enough money, I think choose both of them is good for future. But, if you don't enough money, I think buy some BtC and wait for the value to increase, because I have experience join an ico but not paid until now. I hope you are successfully in your ICO :)

Many people struggle with this same question, to invest in a lower risk cryptocurrency that is established or to invest in a ongoing or upcoming ICO. Better off buying some alts that are low value at the moment as most have bottomed out due to the fork. Will most likely see better gains there rather than holding BTC after it has hit a new ATH.

The price of bitcoin now is quite high so if you think that's expensive go with some cheaper alt coins that you can invest. And later on if those alts that you chose to buy started to pump, that will be the profit taking time and for sure by that time bitcoin will become cheaper so that's a good entry point for you to have bitcoin if you really crave to have it as your investment, since everyone prefer to go with bitcoin.

I will not tell you to buy ICO or bitcoin but I will give you some tips and then where do you want to head where is your choice?

Investing in ICO is quite risky but at the same time it can also be rewarding, its like gambling but if you can find out some of the promising ICO than you can easily multiply your money.
For example, KICKCOIN had successful ICO but current price of it is just half of their ICO price in terms of $.
                    Bitdice (CSNO) token were sold at around 8 cents and now it is trading over $0.20 withing few months after ICO

You should be able to find the most profitable one, on the other hand investing in Bitcoin for longer term can insure profit without much risk.

I would advise you to buy bitcoin and do not make sharp moves on trade and investment until the market calms down a bit in the forefront of forks

Bitcoin is become the giant in the cryptocurrency market, so it is advisable to buy just a small quantity as a means of exchange because it is almost widely acceptable and reliable. But then, for major investment and higher profitability, it is advisable to buy the new coins that has got prospect and find out which of it has a good platform to pick up in time especially country and higher company coins. So, depending on the funds that is  available, you invest in both bitcoin and other coins.

I'm also thinking about what you are wondering. I think it is important to join ico to make the most profit possible, although it is risky. If you invest in bitcoin, you need to hold it long enough to get more profit from it.

if the ICO is highly underrated, has a good team and project idea and nobody is buying into it at the moment and the price is just at the right point for buying in then sure. Buying into the ICO may turn out to be a better investment than BTC.

Buy bitcoins and invest into alts with those bitcoins. Alts you see are very cheap at this time. Investing in bitcoin and remaining in it is the safer option, but if you want to grow your bitcoins, invest in alts.

Since, you are asking if you must invest in ICO, (please dont take it as a rude comment), but you must not.
you need to do a lot more research before you invest in any ICO, its your money and it is you who must do the reasearch instead of asking in the forum.

As you must have seen a lot replys like (99% ICOs are scam/fake), there is a truth behind it and most of the investors learn this the hard way.
However, If you are looking forward for upcoming ICOs which you want to invest in and can give you good returns, you have to look forward to the market sentiments, the team behind the project, the supporters, advisors, companies which support and back them up and ofcourse the whitepaper. 8)

Alts and ICOs are completely different investments in terms of both risk and reward.

If you want to invest in ICOs then make sure that you do your homework. Make sure that you have done your research every single time that you are tempted in investing in an ICO because there are lots of scams out there.

I think it depends on your strategy. If you want to invest in long-term, you can choose to invest in BTC though its price is so high now. If not, you can choose ICO projects to invest. Let's say if you are a risk taker and smart enough to gather information then diversify your investment. Investing in an ICO is like gambling, you either loss big or win big and investing in BTC is not that risky but it takes long time to profit. Well you could do 50% to ICO and 50% to Bitcoin, that way you can win at both if you are lucky enough and reduce the risk. But beware most of ICOs are scams now, it is hard to spot legit ICOs but when you do spot one then it's a big win.

It depends on that what profit you want to receive. If you want fast profit you need to chek some altcoins and invest in it, but if you want profit from a half of a year or more certanly buy bitcoins and hold it.

I would do both. There are some potentially very good ICO's out there that may be good investments. However, make sure you do your OWN research an don't rely on the word of others. Some low market cap ICO's don't have the marketing budget of others but may still prove to be a good investment.  

Wait for any dip before the fork and buy it.

actually you can do both, invest in ICO or continue to buy BTC and do hold. if you want to invest in ico you have to think and examine which ICO you will invest and give you a profit so you do not lose.

Do both just to keep it safe. Whatever amount your thinking of investing altogether, put half into bitcoin and half into altcoins. if the alcoins multiply by 5, you'll have a lot more money than if you have it sitting in bitcoin

it depends on the ico, if that ico is verry promising and has a good project that will likely to succed on the future, then go for it but dont put all your eggs in one basket . i suggest put 30 to 50% depending on the ico then the rest is put it all in bitcoins. just beware because most ico these days are just likely to scam inoscent people like you and all they want is your money, so just be careful and choose wisely.

It depends on your investing capacity. If you are a religious and passive investor, then go buy BTC and hold it for a while to increase the value. But if you are an aggresive one, try to invest on ICO. But before that, research and study the ICO you want to dive in. I suggest all my fellow investors is to split your portfolios as desired like various percent of investment in bitcoin, some in ethereum, some in waves, some in ripple etc. It all depends how we diversify our investment based on the performance of the coins periodically. At the current rate of ICO like fraudulent are still rampant the best thing to do now is buy some pieces of bitcoin and secured it.

Well I guess you're probably asking this because of the craziness in bitcoin price lately. I think this is temporary and the price will get to the somehow stable ranges again. Because investing in btc is usually a long-term investment which you expect to earn from in terms of months.

Actually in normal conditions, a good ICO which proves itself as a useful project is much more profitable. I'm talking about the time frame of investment here. Earning double or triple your investment in 4 weeks or something is actually much better.

I'm not gonna lie. I did this twice before and went with the wave. What happened ? Ended up selling the tokens for 80% of ICO price and I lost money.

So basically, btc is long term (but don't buy at the highest price it's ever been and then wait for profits. Buy low) and ICOs are quick but dangerous.

Buying btc and jst holding can fetch u some gains but with the upcoming fork the price might fluctuates heavily.

If you have enough capital, you just invest in bitcoin. If the amount of capital is too small, you accept the risk of investing in ICO. People only contribute comments, you should trust yourself.

Dont listen to people who tell you to go in an ICO! Do so only if you are 100% sure what you are doing. This requires a lot of research and due diligence nowadays. I made the experience, that in 9 out of 10 ICO's you will be better off holding your BTC and wait until the Coins hit the market and let them dump to buy in at a cheap price. Sure you could also pick the 1 out of the 10 that immediately goes x10, but the chances are very low to find this one. Nowadays its more likely that its 1 out of 50 that isnt overvalued at the ICO sale. Thats just my point of view though. Its always better do make your own experiences, but most importantly: never invest what you arent willing to loose!

If you buy BTC you are buying an asset that isn´t without risks but that has proven itself for some time. Going for an ICO is an investment and you should consider it long term. So you have to look at the project behind it and the token itself. Are you buying a part of the company? a token that will fuel the company itself or just some useless token to go on pump and dumps on an exchage? all can be profitable but be careful and take care of your capital.

Well I wouln't recomand any of them . Better it's to gather money , wait for bitcoin to calm down , then jump into btc for long term or try to speculate some alts for quick profits. Also there are some very good ico projects right now but make sure you triple check them before engage into one.

I think if u are a straight  shooter or a conservative investor u should buy btc but now is not a good time to buy btc since it has been on a steady rise of late.u can wait it out for price to stabilize or attain a stable support level.then u can ride it out.but if u are willing to take some risk,u can do ur own research and buy onto an ico u really believe in or u can buy into an already established altcoin since most of then are still really cheat since u can make 10x profits in the event of an altcoin boom.but at the end of the day the decision rest with u

ICO is too risky in my opinion. You can go 10x in both directions. Win or loose. I know it's nearly the same with Bitcoin, but there is a large community behind this cryptocurrency. I think buying BTC is a good move at the moment. The price is not so high ($ 6100) and will definitely rise up because of the next fork in November.

Both preferences are important choices for earning . money can be earned in this way by making logical choices. you do have to join or not join  any one of them. both can be done at once. there are many projects that can be really to be valued in the future. if you search from them and make a good investment in a few, you can make a lot of money in the future.

 

Dividing the budget is the best option in any scenario guys. Getting into ico with all is wrong, but buying all for bitcoin is wrong too. So making a diversified budget is the most true decission on the market now.

Hmm I would suggest you to invest a little into some good good ICOS and the rest better keep them untill bitcoin have it's correction. BTC is so close to edge. Everybody looking for a sharp down movement now. 15000$ is a hard resistance line and i am waiting a fast down to 10000$ in few hours after the start.

Yes you can invest on new ICO but the quality of the ICO must have good quality safe, profitable, good planning, and low risk. For me i'm not recommended you to investing on ICO which have bad management and the team. Buying Bitcoin is also profitable for future because the value of Bitcoin will keep rising every year.

Honestly, I would just stay put at the moment, and just watch the market. Most ICO's the past few months have lost much value once listing on exchanges likely due to BTC's crazy run.

Bitcoin is very expensive and you would just sit on it. It is a lot safer but also not as exciting.

Personally I would invest into Ethereum, save some and invest some into some interesting ICO's (around 15-20% invest keep the rest). ETH is still growing and also you are diversifying your wallet.

First, you need to dertemine what you want to do : Day trading order hold for long-term , mid-term. If you want to day trading, altcoins are also a good option. Hey man! It all depends on the ICO you are investing. For me the ICO have made great returns, like x25 times and x64 times my inicial invest. Remeber that when bitcoin started it is just like a new altcoin introduced today. For me, investing in Bitcoin is always the first choice and than to invest in ICO.  If you want to invest in ICO, must study the product first.

It depends on you and your mind. Bitcoin changes it values very quickly. You can’t say it’s rate will increase or go lower.

Again, if you want to invest your money to any ICO you have to check the full whitepaper very carefully. Some of the ICO says it’s let’s say most of it were made for only pump which is very harmful to any person. With a new ICO there is no certainty that the new coin will do well and get me a good return on my investment  but with bitcoin the future is better. You can do both. But because there are so many ICO scams these days, i would suggest you invest MOSTLY in BTC because you have definite profit from that, especially if it rises.

I'd like to diversify 20% to BTC, 40% to alts, 40% to ICOs. There is a huge chance that BTC will drop down below 10k so I don't recommend to keep more than 20% in btc atm.

I think you should do a research first before investing to a new ICO. It is now more riskier than just buying and holding BTC in your wallet. Today's ICO projects are sometimes not profitable anymore.

BTC for sure has a tremendously high value, thus, if you buy and decide to hodl, you will generate a significant return on income. This is a good decision, in my opinion. I think that the question is about your capital, It is given that altcoins is cheaper than bitcoins and it is good for trading if you want to practice. Next is that, You can work on bounty campaign if you do not really have the good amount of capital to start otherwise just invest on bitcoins immediately.

If you have already invested in BTC then HODL it and perhaps take a small portion of that investment and invest in ICOs that you feel it will be successful.

Searching for a good ICO could be tricky but definitely rewarding. Bitcoin has gone up to high quite quickly so i would be tempted to go for an ICO of my liking and perhaps an altcoin with high upside.

You can segregate your investment like 50% in bitcoin, 50% in any ICO. When you invest in ICO, you need to research completely and take a call. To avoid disappointment, you may split your 50% investment in to 3 different ICO's like 15% + 15% + 10% like wise.

Definitely you should go with bitcoin, it only have a lower risk compare in investing in ICO and a 99% of sure profit afterwards.
