I have ask to baikal about the new algo on Giant+ and they answer me that was not possible !

that's really bad for many people like me that on September bought Giant+ for more than 3000 USD and now ear about 2 usd a day !!!

Well, it is still strange that difficulty is skyrocketed on Groestl, while we can't see any significant diff drop on other coins.

Actually, We have been collecting all feedbacks about algo from customers before a quite long period of time when we are not so busy, we recorded the algo that was mentioned on conversations, sorted them out, and emailed to our boss. So, now, I assume some of guys can see their "algo wishing list"  come true.

Did they force you to buy the unit at that price? If you had an item to sell would you sell it for less then what people are willing to pay? If you invested in the stock market and your stock tanked would you request a refund? I understand that their customer service leaves a lot to be desired but I fail to see how the price you or anyone else paid for a device is their fault.

purchase of an ASIC hardware is an investment, and of course there is risk for every investment...
baikal sells ASIC hardware at high price sometime (Giant+), and at low price sometime (Giant X10)...
it is purely buyer's decision and judgement to purchase which hardware and at which price...baikal does advertise their product with something like "grantee ROI in XX days", right?

Bittawm is a reseller, your not buying from Baikal if you buy units from him that is why the very large price markup.  It is an indirect pass through purchase if you use him to buy miners.

For second batch you accept crypto payment ( btc, bch, litecoin , dashcoin , other coin.... ) or only wire transfer?

They won't accept Crpyto-s becuase of regulations in China.

If in the future they will use other payment method ( for example credit card, Paypal......) it would be better.... wire transfer is horrible... for my bank is difficult...  the fee of bank are hight, you don't know when arrive the transfer in China... Baikal... ( or Bitmain... or other crypto industries) tell you after week that is arrived.. the payment is not correct... the payment arrive but there the miners are sold out......

You can control fan via " baikal-fan" option in setup. And of course it depends on your room temp and chosen algo.

It is deisgned to disspitate heat of 800W, but different algo has different power consuption. However don't expect it would be silent...

Myr-groestl have a consuption of 150 w... with this algo i think that the fan is not too noise.... if you use x11 is possibile that the fan is noise....
I have some Cube and at 100% fan with a distance of 1 meter the noise is 54 Db.... if you see the photo of the Cube and the photo of Giant the fan seems like the same......

I made a comparision with old algo for these 2 miner, x11, quark, qubit......
Mini Miner have got 4 Chip and a frequency of 300 Mhz , one chip have an hashrate of 37.5 Mh/s
Giant 10+ have got 192 chip and a frequency of 420 Mhz ( +40%) , one chip have an hashrate of 52.08 Mh/s ( +38%)

It's possible that is the same chip???????????

I Think that is the same... only the construction process is better... for example... the old proces was 28 nm? 22 nm? i don't know... and now the process is? 16 nm? 10 nm? this explain the low consuption.....

I think You have to make do-it-yourself-pool in order to solo-mine...

Its an odd mix of algos. It helps divide up the hash that's being added to market, but that's about all I can say for it.

No solo mining support. But you can create your own pool. it is so easy.

which PSU will you use for the GIANT X10 ?

I have one corsair cx 860I and one cx 1200I... i use this.... and probabily i use one... because i think that x11 is not a good idea... the 2 new algo are interesting an the total of watt for 2 giant is 300....

I'm getting 2 baikal so I wonder if it is better to get 1 PSU that power both or 2 individual  - any recommendations ?

But if I receive my x10 miners late, i will lose money again.

Is there a Myriade-Groesetl firmware upgrade for Cube Miners?

if you are in the first batch, it would be very very hard to lose money...
even if you would receive the miner, for example, one week later than the other people who also get the first batch x10 miners, you could still make decent profits from it...
just remember, for now, the ROI for a X10 is just 5 days, even if you double, triple, or 10 fold, still less than two months

That is all of my hopes.
If it works well, i will buy more and more miners.
I always support Baikal Team from the beginning - mini miners.

yea, me too.. I think that was the ealier account baikal uses as payment for the cubes and part of the x10 1st batch. After that they changed to Baikal Holdings, which I think are having issues because of the name “baikal”

Now I can confirm that they did give me this account for the wire transfer after my wire came back from their first account.

The Company I've bought mine from have confirmed stock shipping today and expected to land next week, but cant confirm which version to expect between the older (October is it?) 3x 6-pin connector open end version and this backplated, 6x 6-pin connector, lower power consumption v2...

There is only 1 version. All of that stuff was prior to final production.

You shoud get EVGA powersupply because most of them come with testing clip so you can power the unit easier.

Most Evga is single rail and test switch can power the unit easier.
My issue of getting a lower wattage powersupply is the unknown power requirement of the other two algo that is add in the future update. I would get a 500 watt in a heart beat if the other two algo require very little power.

Wow so it seems baikal is now following with innosiicion business model. So im guessing no one recieved shipping or tracking yet for the pre orders of baikal x10 miners yet huh? Bitmain really made these company struggle to deliver on time to customers. I think because they need to run these machines and mine back what they can while giving out fake shipping dates to paid customers.. shame!

Last time i ordered from Baikal i had the same issue with delivery...... I think its safe to say that they are using them to boost their own profitability with the miners. Mine one month then sell them.  :( :(

I purchased Giant Plus 2000 for $7,000 so will never recover the money for that... but I see that X13 & X15 on it is doing ok.. and I would probably do much better with with X10 which has 5 times more speed.  I have two questions:

1) Why was X13 & X15 dropped?
2) Any chance of getting the new algo updates for the owners of the old Baikal miners?

When you pay for this order? I think that the "First Payd, First served " not working...... when Baikal post on twitter the sales of First batch of X10 after 40 minutes were paid and confirmed now i don't recive anything.......

How did you manage to do wire transfer and get confirmation in 40 mins? I received order instructions shortly after the announcement but it took them a solid week to confirm they had the money.

Oh wow. I didn't realize that as by the time I was chatting with them a couple hours after announcement that wasnt an option. It's becoming obvious that there was a ton more units sold in batch 1 then any speculated. Im guessing a few thousand. Maybe the 500 number people were throwing around was just customers and not distributors as it looks like more then that is already in the hands of them.

Hai, u can use any modular psu that can support connection up to 6 graphic card (850Watt and above recommended).
But, if u plan to mine Skein or myriad algo, you can use lower psu power. As long as it can support up to 6 pcie connection.

Most easiest u can use bitmain psu or any oem psu that specifically use for Asic miner. Shouldnt be any problem at all.

The last time I bought an ASIC was Avalon batch 2! Don't get me wrong, it's tempting. But after having experienced bAsic, BFL, etc... I know better... No matter how tempting it is, I know i'm going to end up getting fucked in the end. I (and some engineers) developed an X11 RTL we were trying to turn into a X11 ASIC back in 2014?? No investors wanted on board! It was a "stupid idea"!  ::) ::) -- Have to develop your own asic or stay out of the asic mining market -- but don't expect investors to invest.. They'll just waste your money having you fly all over the world for meetings that will inevitably be fruitless.

just make a spreadsheet -  for 500 pre-order customers, not a bit effort, right? group customers into small group by shipping time, do a simple calculation...ship to the last group with longest shipping time first, then group by group, just try to let people get the miner at roughly similar time frame...

I disagree. I made my step in crypto with Antminer S7. It was a brilliant maschine and besides of that an amusing IT experience. Baikal mini and Cube also made profit, and more IT related enjoyment, with extra parameters and multi-algo.

For me it was fun and made some coins. I love Slushpool community. This is a passion.

But of course if you look huge profit within 1 month, you will disappointed. People should look inside themself. Greedyness is the main problem from the client side as well.

Don't worry! they're having "customs issues"... They need another 30 to 60 days to process!  :D :D

After customs issues... "Sorry we ran out of packing materials! Another 14 days to receive our packing materials!" then, 30 days later... People will receive waybills... Then after they receive waybills it will sit in a "Waybill printed." state (package not being given to DHL) for another 7 days :D

I wish people would stop giving their hard earned money to these companies. The pre-order customers are assuming 100% of the risk and being abused on top of it.


Come on, stop shilling. They took customer money in pre-order, used the customer money to do development work (customers are essentially investors as they're putting money into something that may never come to fruition)... Then, they're mining on the customer hardware to create profits for themselves instead of rewarding their investors by actually shipping out the hardware. They can do whatever they want with their second batch of hardware... But this hardware was promised to customers and now customer returns are being reduced by baikal's greediness. These batch 1 customers are the ones who accepted 100% of the risk of this business NOT baikal. If baikal had accepted the risk, they wouldn't have need to sell pre-orders and it would be totally fine for them to mine on the hardware.

Anyone who thinks what they did and are actively doing is ok or makes justifications for it, is... #1) Chinese or #2) A shill.. You appear to be both..

So they are doing the exact same thing as Bitmain is and mining the heck out of the coin.. Kill the value and than collect on the equipment when the equipment no longer making any money.. Damn glad I got screwed by them and did not pay for an X10 miner.  There is NO WAY the coin could of dropped that much in value unless they are mining with the equipment themselves.

sorry, rectify what is said in advance, it depends heavily on the crypto being mined but the profit to me has risen to 0.00375 in the last 24 hours

Seems like they are sending out randomly. I saw on the forum at least 1 in asia, a few in north america and a few in europe.

On this forum, we can only see the delivery service affecting baikal only (bitmain is a big company, sure to have ties with airlines and delivery services).
But if you look at forums where taobao alibaba or any chinese ecommerce shopping is being discussed, whole china is affected, delivery companies are "queueing" to get their goods on the planes. Domestic flights are affected, international flights are affected too.
Reason being the 11.11 singles day sales in china, it's even bigger than black friday.

So I really hope everyone who ordered for the first batch will get the miners real soon.

I use the Bitman APW3++ and it works fine. Should be ok for up to 2 Giant x10 as the power output is 1600W on 220-240V supply (as in UK). If you are in the USA or other country with 110V supply, the output is 1200W, so would only be good enough for 2 Giant X10's if you don't run the X11 algo - which you probably won't as it doesn't make you any money!

So people are actually buying this used, worthless junk from Baikal? Is it some sort of masochism? You know they are over-priced and treat their customers pretty badly. Their equipment will never ROI, I think the way they treated their costumers means the end of their company.

I totally agree about treating customers badly, but over-priced and never ROI? For a 7 algo asic, show me something of better value! I'm currently on track for ROI in another 20 days (32 days in total).

OK, it's not as powerful as a D3, but since non X11 coins provide 4+ times more profit currently, it's a better ROI. As for the future, who the hell knows!  :)

I talked to an Alibaba vendor a week to two ago about the X10 and she told me that the next batch had been delayed and was probably January delivery.  There were also some questions about stability raised. 

Don't want to scare anyone, but pass along what I was told.  Who knows how reliable the info is, but this vendor claims to be selling the X10 so I assume the info is somewhat accurate.

Finally i got the email from baikal,they seems are checking the shipping address now.Really can not wait to run my little X10

Just on a positive note, the X10 is still the most profitable asic. You can easily get $40 a day, and if you do your own homework rather than stick to the big pools, you can double that. While Nicehash was down, I made $200+ a day for 5 days by solo mining. Now they're back, I'm averaging $90 a day.

Yes indeed I hope it will be a third batch..and another giant-b batch. Somebody promised me a spot for a giant-b here, even got payment link. When I asked to pay cash by wire, the person would look into it. Then he stopped replying me. Won’t mention names, but seems like keeping the giant-b was more interesting. It was NOT bittawm btw, but another trusted user. If he said: only crypto as reply I would buy some eth straight away, but instead he chose to pass my promised spot along or keep the miner himself. Anyway, hope I get my chance.

why do you want to install new image? Unless your x10 is not working properly there is nothing significantly new on that image.

yes, you have to disassemble the miner to reach micro sd card. On a new image there is no support for two additional algo's.

I need to remove the backpanel by unscrewing the 4 screws. Then pull the hashing boards out a bit. On one side one side is the orange pi connected via GPIO pins. Pull the orange pi up carefully and remove be micro sd card from it by pushing it in until it clicks. Now you can flash the image onto the sd card. Remember: your pools and other data will be wiped, so better save them!
Now rebuild the miner: Put the sd card in the orange pi, stick the orange pi on the GPIO pins, slide the hashing boards back in and install the backpanel again.

From experience i know that these re-flashings are pretty picky, hence the reason i prefer new SD cards and not overwriting the old
ones to have at least a backup in case it does not work.

In the past i had to write several times that image to the SD card to have it working, no idea why, but it seems not every writing and reflash is the same for some reason.

Maybe some of the guys that managed the reflash can give some step by step instructions for the guys that are not that advanced with it. Maybe some hints and tips as well.

What I did:
- Flashed the original sd card: no difference.
- Flashed a new 8gb sd card: baikal didn't start.
- Flashed again the original sd card, different usb port: new algos there.
I can't tell what did the trick.

Tried card that came with it. tried my spare 64gb card. no luck
tried built in card reader in laptop, tried usb card reader. same no luck

I tried it with several fresh cards
I tried it with different usb slots

and I even tried it with 5 miners.

Results ?
I see the pool but it's not possible to swith to new algos

What I think you meant to say was they presumably have marginal ROI vectors. 

Don’t forget the effort that goes into inventing and producing an ASIC miner in a foreign land. (deduct for respective marketing/support lost thru translation)  IMO, Baikal, Innocillin, Halong & Bitmain all deserve some level of respect, but to you I may seem like a piece of garbage.

I just purchased new BK-X and updated the PI Image. The miner will not connect to any USA Nicehash stratum's. Currently I have to use EU stratums to mine Nicehash. Tried numerous times to contact Baikal but they never reply to support request via email and Skype. I am sure it is a hardware issue so I just want a new board and PI unit. Any ideas for getting support would be appreciated.

Since all the formerly worthwhile coins that they could mine have forked to new algos, and the rest of the coins are shite, these miners at current conditions:

• Giant A900 earns $0.47/day -> ROI in 1,277 days -> 3.5 years
• Giant+     earns $1.16/day -> ROI in 776 days -> 2.13 years

and it's safe to assume that they don't come with PSUs since you don't mention anything about PSUs, that means in reality they'll never ROI.

Wonder when will Baikal release new more efficient n powerful miners! Hope they can improve their customer service and after sales support. Baikal miners are good but can be better if they can response to support inquiries their customers need after buying Baikal

After the baikal n pricing and release fiasco ( n, n+, n70 n240 etc) and their algo's being taken over by other manufacturers with far more powerful miners (blakes) , and the threat of fgpa on the horizon and even currently taking over baikals algos and future ones, baikal has really lost its appeal.

Why do you say that? A competing FGPA seems kind of out of reach and pretty expensive.

Would you guys buy another Baikal?  I'm interested, but seems like there are quite a few issues with just purchasing and getting delivery with these units from just reading the posts...

Yes, if shows up with new profitable algos.
Heat is not an issue and noise depends on Your fan settings, but yes it's very loud even at 50%.

Yes, they appear to be the same. I have it, and it doesn't say either name on it itself, but it does 10 Gh/s so I'm assuming it's what I have. I'm trying to change the firmware now, it's still on the original 5 algos. It's been making 12-16 dollars a day for X11ghost just on nicehash, a lot more on the coin people are hitting(SIB). http://

Wow that would rock if it were true but no.  Here is my daily profitability going back a few weeks:
10/20    $3.54
10/27    $3.51
11/3    $3.23
11/10    $3.13

So for each of the dates there, the dollar value is an average of the previous 7 days.  This is 100% on nicehash with Nist5, Qubit, Quark, and X11Gost enabled.  It spends 95-98% of the time on qubit.

Maybe you missed that it doesn't do 10GH/s on all algos?

awww crap, you're right. I can't figure out how to make it mine those anyway. I took the machine apart and the TF card only holds 60 Mb, so how can I flash the .img file that's 4 gig? I also see some other small .bin files but can I just copy them to the TF? There's a script.bin on it, and the boot.scr, and uImage. 5 Mb of files on it.

If the SD card you have works I wouldn't mess with it.  Get a different microSD with 8GB and put the image on that one.  Then just swap the SD card and boot with the one you imaged.  Then get comfortable with the fact that qubit is what you want to mine anyway so the new algos are pointless  :P
