If you want to find a good ICO, looking for 3 main point:
1. Team dev is star ?
2. Maximum raising during ICO. Too high => might lose money because price drop when listed on exchange
3.Their product ? I should have a real product first, and they will do anything to follow their roadmap.

Read the white paper clearly.
See some themes that join there
The purpose of ICO and coins that will develop well
see ICO participants
Number of tokens for sale.

At least there is a follow up of the project, I think it is a good ICO.

Look for a good team with a project that actually may have some real world implications and be a bit unique in the way it approaches the issue it is trying to solve

it seems that choosing good quality ico is no longer an importance..it is really hard for the market to be able to win any ico in such a bad situation in this process.I have 4 projects that I have researched and joined in a really good way. All but one of them are in bad shape. I lose much from all of them. There 's nothing I can do. I'll wait for it. maybe I can make some money if the altcoin  market revives in the coming months. or at least I can minimize my loss.

Try to understand the whole concept by reading the complete whitepaper of the project.
Then check their hard-cap (if they have set any) that will the expected amount really be complete enough to satisfy the needs of the project's expenses?
See if they are really providing some (real) updates during the beginning of their project as well as remain active on all of their social media that they handle. Check if they are really getting some attention from the users who are willing to invest in such programs.

I think there is a good choice of ico items for my friend. these rules are known by almost everyone. but knowing these rules is not absolutely helpful in choosing good ico. If it really did, you would not find anyone writing this post right now :) in general the rules can be listed as follows. team is important. who are team members and who dominate this market?   really have they  experiences. how reliable they are. how are other people's comments? how is your interest? What are the github codes saying?

Well the first thing you should look into is  THE TEAM behind the project, that's is the basic jewelry of every project (ICO) out there.

A team with great & decent background in their domains meaning they are there in that project, IOC, for some serious reasons, they are not there for playing or scamming.

Shady ICO's with unknown teams doesn't necessarily means it's a shitty ICO or project, but it will give you the trustless issues since we all deal online.

Well, I don't think dev team is ever that popular. It just has to be educated and rather experienced IMO. Then again, who would've thought that a coin created by a 20-year old (or even less) boy who decided not to study at the university and came from a country with not the best reputation would become #2 after bitcoin and bring lots of people plenty of money? I think this illustrates that the team might not be that important.
Another thing is that you didn't mention whitepaper which explains what the project's all about. This is a good indicator of whether ICO is worth talking a look at.

it seems to me that many coins can only show themselves over time ... of course, when a coin is created by well-known developers, then it has more confidence ... but as mentioned above, no one could have thought that a coin created by a 20-year old boy would have such success

2) TOKEN USE. This is the most important
3) Team can be famous or not, there are a many unknown people with really good ideas
4) Roadmap
5) Talk with devs/ceo and ask some questions and read again whitepaper
6) Soft and hard cap

1) White Paper - Must be a solid one
2) Team - Vision and background
3) Investors
4) Soft cap - Hard cap
5) Most important: Token Usage. The ICO must be useful for smth not just a way for a startup to raise money

You did already mention on the things that should really be done before choosing and ico which you should really read up its white paper and the transparency on its developer which this is the primary thing I do check out first when I tend to invest. It is really important to search up first before investing because we do know there are lots of existing scam as of now which its really dangerous if you are really careless on putting your money.
If you do have the money to allocate then just remember on diversifying it and don't put your egg on a single basket.

hard cap very important ,if hard cap is high at ICO,there are higher chanced that it may not do too well on the market ,more like an 'oversold ICO'

White paper is first thing, then review usability of the product, check devs team and their history. Most importantly check for the red flags like fake teams, overhyped product and much throw away tokens that dilute the value of your investment.

the team and the concept are two very important things.
for example:

Crowdholding ICO (https://ico.crowdholding.com/) is very solid, due to:

1. The concept of co-creation
2. Working platform was launched 8-9 month ago
3. Backed by Fintech startups
4. The team, always available, 24hour, on their landing page and on a telegram  (https://web.telegram.org/#/im?p=@Crowdholding)

Yeah. It can get very tiring and discouraging with so many ICOs. What I do is that I monitor how fast they reach their maximum token sale. When I see the coin is reaching its target quite fast, that's when I invest.

Just like what I expected, many answered it's about the road map, the team, whitepaper, the experience and other the same stuffs. What's happening here is that we are grading ICO's and speculating on it with through it's beginning and we don't really know if that ICO will be successful. Choosing a good ICO can be identified if they are a legit company that were their token/coin will be used for availing such services.

Read whitepaper.
Try to find out if team is real or not(pictures, names)
Check if they are using escrow - find more information about escrow.
4. The team, always available, 24hour, on their landing page and on a telegram  (https://web.telegram.org/#/im?p=@Crowdholding)
Actually this is not good way to choose ICO. They are all active during ICO and most of them don't even bother to reply after ICO.

In choosing a good ICO. You need to background check the team behind of that project. If it is real or not. You need to read to whitepaper of their project to know more informatuon on how is the process of the coin. Not all ICO are going to success. You need to choose the best

It's very easy to know how to choose a good ICO and identifying if that is a scam can be found through knowing their background, who are the people developing that project.

And if you are still looking for an ICO that you want to focus with, you may try to invest with angel token.

This is their whitepaper - https://angelinvestors.io/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Angel-Token-White-Paper-3_0.pdf it says there that developers has one goal and that is to make a better community through this project.

Only few projects are thinking about their investors that way.

This is their website https://angelinvestors.io/ it's for all of us.

Correct. They always want to fool investors with their big team with advisors and investors that are the top of the class but if if you examine carefully, you'll notice that it's like all of them are not real judging by their profile photos. Some look like a profile for modelling and some don't even look at the camera. It's also a good way to base if you are on a good ICO.

1. Check the crypto currencies forum page on bitcointalk forums
2. Flashy images and good page setup
3.Transparent team
4 Long term use.
5.Mining should be low on list of forum page.
6.Market capitalization

yah there are untrusted ICOs but there are still who are trusted
try visiting the ICOs rating at icosrating.com on this site you can see the currently running ICO and the project they are leading and also the status of their project. I prefer looking here first before joining any Campain..
Also better review the site and all the information about the ICO and the project to avoid misfurtune..
I also choose a campaign with a good promising deal ...

Just check the whole thing on their ANN thread and you'll know what are their reasons for starting up that project. But still we don't say that "Just do your own research". Some scammers are taking the advantage with the use of these ICO's to hide their intention of bringing doom to this type of source funding and popularity so people who are behind the project are also a big factor so if you'll know who are they.

Good question. I have several stages before making a decision.

Let's say, I browse an ICO calendar and go through projects one by one.

First impression
1. Website (design, style, template or custom)
2. What is the idea in a nutshell
3. Projects's social links (number of members, real or fake)
4. Team and advisors (if Vitalik is not on board:)

Deeper insight
1. Whitepaper
2. Where company is registered
3. Team's Linkedin profiles and past experience
4. Social activity, interviews and overall communication style
5. Token model
6. Advisors involvement into the project (are they just faces or their input is substantial)
7. Development plan, target market
8. Reviews on rating agencies if available

Choosing the right ICOs for a right project is not an easy tasks especially when you are new on this kind of issues.
Having a lot of research about such ICO's is the best way to do. In researching for a right ICOs where to invest with and participate/work with I may suggest the criteria I used on ICO Hunting or hunting a right ICOs.
- check  the rating of such ICO and the status of the campaigns that he manages.
- check the reputation of the ICO from the reviews of his or her past campaigns.
- check the main information of the  project of such ICO tobknow how realistic his / her ideas.
- check how good and secured their website, whitelist, roadmap and etc.
- have a better look and consultations about their ICO via Telegram, email and other form of communication.
- Popularity
- The Idea of such ICO.
-background of former Ratings.
These are the criteria I used to on finding a right ICOs.
I also provides the links/ sites that may help on ICO hunting

https://icorating.com/
this sites shows the ratings and reviews of an ICOs pertaining how good their past projects are and also the status of their current projects its free so better have a peek on it.

This sites also are pertaining to ICOs Hunting and "it is a premier resource for obtaining unbiased information on current and upcoming initial coin offerings. They have gained a huge amount of experience monitoring and analyzing hundreds of ICOs at their fundraising stage. They also are dedicated to improve your understanding of the exponentially growing cryptocurrency and blockchain ecosystem.
They provide a place where you can browse a wide variety of projects, learn about the technology and creators behind them and choose the ones you want to support.
This site are requiring 1$ payment for first 3 days and 200$ monthly,

And if you are still looking for a promising and trusted ICO for a certain campaign, I may suggest you to have a look and try the Daneel.io. Its former Bounty manager is Sir/Ma'am Sylon but dew to its revamped or part 2 of this campaign new promising bounty mananger/ ICO has been sprout and these ICO's is Sir/Ma'am mazzer.
Daneel.io is a project promoting an A.I (Artificial Intelligence) create and develop to help and guide investors in this cryptoworld. It's really a good project they all pass on my criteria.

3. Projects's social links (number of members, real or fake)
4. Team and advisors (if Vitalik is not on board:)

Deeper insight
1. Whitepaper
2. Where company is registered
3. Team's Linkedin profiles and past experience
4. Social activity, interviews and overall communication style
5. Token model
6. Advisors involvement into the project (are they just faces or their input is substantial)
7. Development plan, target market
8. Reviews on rating agencies if available

These are some of the things we have to assume and more we have to check with their advisory team and we have to check whether they attend any public meeting. This another way of marketing their product to which it will boost their activity.

Read the white paper clearly. A project can succeed if it has made a good investment at the same time

Hi,there are plenty of ico Here
I dont really know how to choose the best ICO, because some are totaly scam or shit
How do you do that ?

Finding a reliable ICO project really needs a lot of researching, you have to review always the whitepaper of the project that you'd like to invest in, and identify also the members behind the team if they are really credible members and not fictitious characters only. And most of all, you have to make sure that the project has the great community that are active enough to answer all your concerns about the project.

Lets share my suggestion about finding the good ICO.

I will read the white paper completely whether they are legit project, what is their focus about this project, how the team has been emerge with this idea.
Secondly I use to check the project developer team whether they comes up with the legit perfect team or completely newbies involved in it.
Next need to check their Linked-In profile that whether they are old profile or newly created only for promoting their project.
This is how I check the good project.

It can be a good help if you will read their whitepaper clearly but that's not enough to choose if that ICO is a good one.

how the team has been emerge with this idea.
Secondly I use to check the project developer team whether they comes up with the legit perfect team or completely newbies involved in it.
Knowing the team is also a good way to know if they are running a legit ICO as the life of that coin will depend on those developers.

Next need to check their Linked-In profile that whether they are old profile or newly created only for promoting their project.
Sometimes there are developers who are faking out linked in profiles so verifying who are the dev team is also a challenge if they are not for transparency.

before you participate on ICO try to
check their webpage you can trust them via webpage.
it has a 75% sure that it is not a Shit coin provider.
checking their ratings might help too

Read the white paper, meet the team if possible if based in your city, understand the project on which they have introduced the coin and their future and usability in coming years. Also see if they have any bounty or promotion happening and how are they being treated with answers of the questions raised. Also are they paying regularly to their participants or not. If you feel comfortable after doing your own research and with this points you can invest in such projects right at the beginning of the PRE - ICO stage to get the better deal.

Best criteria for choosing a good would be a good whitepaper because all of the details must be there in order to satisfy the potential investors without putting into consideration the marketing and hype of the project, if we talk about a potential coin that could easily pump in the future i think having a regular updates and being active in cryptocommunity must put into consideration as well, as for the team well that's a no brainer everyone should check the background of  the team and its advisors.

I think you should first look at the project, whether it can be trusted or not. see the level of interest of investors, whether many enthusiasts or not. because more and more enthusiasts then the price of tokens will rise and vice versa if the demand a little token prices will decrease

Looking out for great ICO's and finding a good ICO to invest is usually a challenge to the average person out there with limited information on how the crypto world works, unlike the traditional IPO's of which is highly regulated by the Central Banks and the Governments.
To find Good ICOthis are what you should look out for;
1) the team behind the project ICO
2.) Utilization of the technology,
3.) what purpose it going to serve to the world?
4.) Does it solve a major problem in society?
All these are very important feature to check out when looking up a good ICO

He's not asking about bounties, he's asking about choosing and investing on ICO. And those rating sites are just guides so doing more research about it is still the best thing to do.

Correct. Those ratings for those ICO's are just guides for someone who's looking to invest into ICO's. Don't get used to it, sometimes they are wrong with their rating and what I'm thinking is there are ICO's that are even paying for good reviews. And when you invested to that type of ICO who are also investing with good reviews, you better get yourself some education on how to choose good ICO. Don't be dependent with those ICO rating websites. Make your own measurement on how to choose and it is indicated by others through many threads about ICO.

Before taking part in ISO it is necessary to learn as much information as possible about it. It is important who the people behind him are, what they did before, what are their plans for the future. It is necessary to study their pages in social networks, find out how long they have been registered. To study the roadmap of the project and understand whether it is possible to realize everything that they came up with

Here is quick checklist that you go trough always before investing in coin:

1. Check the crypto currencies forum page on bitcointalk forums. Checking for several different things from lower part of checklist.

2. Flashy images and good page setup. Solid structured page is what i look for, anything that is scraped up quickly without images or videos often means that developers put little effort into marketing of coin, which is not a good sign to see for investing. Remember you are not in it alone, you want other market participants to get in too if you want to sell coin for profit.
Generally people think completly wrong on this one, thinking that flashy images mean developers are just looking for profits and coin is more likely a scam, while the reality is if you do deep statistical checking and pattern checking of the coins, it is exactly the opposite. The more work developers put into the coin the better, there can be exceptions but in the end its overall statistical performance that matters not single picked example.

3.Transparent team. Images and names of all developers on project, coins developed and released by hidden developers are way more likely to be scam or eventually loosing overall value. This is a fact. Its logical, if someone has ill intent its more likely that staying in shadows will guarantee better safety or perception of it. A good sign is team with experianced members who produced previously successful projects.

4 Long term use. Coin, token, system no matter what the ICO or release is it needs to have long term useful value. Just releasing currency for the sake of it doesn't cut it. Whatever the asset is, it has to provide some real use in order for market to see long term value in it. This means when one sees coin always make sure to think ahead how could such asset provide value to certain people, organizations, companies etc...
For example it could provide platform for developers to develop other blockchain softwares on top of it, which gives it intrensic value of whole ecosystem build on top of it, it could provide capital flight in reppresed countries such as privacy coins allow, it could be distributed power sharing and use such as certain coins that distribute computer power might allow in future, it needs to give value to certain market.

5.Mining should below on list of forum page. When you see coin page that has mining explained and front pushed right bellow the tittle or near it, its usually red flag. It means that developers did not develop any other significant feature to represent it in coins description that could drag in the investors. Mining is only process that helps functionality of currency, it is not the actual use of currency and its only sole feature.

6.Market capitalization. Very important and often overlooked. When investing in any asset it is important to recognize what current market capitalization of it is, if you are value investing and looking for asset that will produce long term increase of use for certain market, it needs to be as under priced and under capitalized as possible, this means that you as investor are entering at best possible price. If market capitalization is way above the actual real use of market it very often leads to strong price drop in order for price to stabilize around intrensic value.

If you want to know the ICO is good and legitimate, you see first the history and rating of ico, and then read the whitepaper, see the future and features that will be provided from the platform, and don't be easily influenced by fraudsters or scammer who sent you for the transfer but it's not from team ICO, thats my opinion

but initially all the above friend reviews are the same now back on us how to judge a project by looking at teams, managers, white paper, official sites and more

All these are the major steps to identify them but you also need to learn the white paper thoroughly and ask the question in concerned channels for answers. Most of the companies have the ability to develop but after seeing the huge money they will start scamming the people without any developments.

To choose a good project, you need to learn as much information about it as possible. The most important thing is to learn about the people who create this project and do not believe that you will get rich in an instant. Such promises are made only by scammers

Read the white paper. Evaluate how much useful and unique technology the project offers. see the ratings of the project. Evaluate the project team. This is a great work. But you can not do without it.

When deciding on a good ICO for you, read the ico whitepaper, take note of the manager or management team of that ico, the aim and objective, how the ICo operates and other things you might want in a particular project of your choice. You should also ask questions in concerned areas that you are not clear about.

There are several factors that cause an ICO to succeed or fail. Like the lack of preparation, the project is not interesting and useful, or may also fund for marketing less. Also be careful with scam ICO, I suggest you to understand the project that is conducting the ICO in order to convince the decision. Because there are also projects that megnadakan ICO, then after the funds collected they bring a run for the money crtocurrency investors.

For me I always take into considerations the team behind on each projects, the concept of the project, the possibility of the project to succeed, and its marketability to the people. These are key factors in choosing a good ICO, if you do your research thoroughly on each ICO, scam projects sometimes have flaws on one if not all of the things I have indicated, and that's a sign to tell that the project is just a scam. Anyway, right now based on my research using the key factors to consider one of the best ICO's to invest with right now is EOT, OPP, and MENLO.

yes you are right now many ico are failing in their campaign and they are many who only give false promise as promised high price but at the time of coin division of the price down it for me is familiar in my ears hearing. then from that then you must be careful in choosing a bounty campaign you should really examine and read it so that you are not wrong in choosing the ico. and when you should be beruguna do not follow a failed project. for me time is money

of course you need to read white paper. In many project's white paper there are a lot of words, but there is no definition, and it is clear that this is scam. Also check the team in social networks. And good projects do not spare money for promotion. Projects are promoted in many social media. It does not matter how they do it - themselves or using services such as upvotes.io (https://upvotes.io/buy-reddit-upvotes/), but they are looking for their audience.
