Title: Is it too early vs late to buy bitcoin?
Post by: MaggieDeng on October 31, 2017, 09:02:57 PM
Bitcoin has been soaring over the past few months.
The argument between "is it too late to buy Bitcoin" vs "is it too early to buy Bitcoin" was debating among lots of hedge funds.
Some think there will be a big price correction later at a certain point, the others think the blooming will still continue going on no matter what.

What do you think?

I think we should move on to another topic before we beat this one to death. This question has been answered too many times before, really.
I will ask you one simple question - do you honestly think that current bitcoin's price is the final and definitive price?
Of course, there is no one who will guarantee you that price will be constantly rising, but at this point in time, I can't see the reason for BTC to retreat or crash.

I think that in the long term (2-4 years) price of bitcoin will rise, but right now we are waiting for a correction. Growth cannot be eternal.

I'd wait for a dip then hold long term.

Well it is not too late to buy Bitcoin for all depends on the purpose for which you want to buy Bitcoin. And is never too early to buy Bitcoin because its market value is currently so high as compared to when it was below  $1000.
Whatever goes up must come down at some point, time for serious correction may come any time but nobody can tell though, there is need for you to apply your discretion when making an investment decision in crypto currency.

That actually depends on your investment outlook towards bitcoin. If you are thinking of short term profit, it is better to try day trading in altcoins. There are a lot of youtube videos available to learn trading. But if you have the capability to block your investment for longer term, bitcoin is the best option. No matter what price point you buy it, you can always make profit in longer term.

Yes of course that it depends on your investment, if you are very afraid of losing money, then dont invest money on bitcoin because you will lose your investment in just matter of weeks, all those people who are afraid of losing their money are the first ones in making mistakes who make them lose their whole portfolio.
But it is still early, if you want to make money just invest now that there is going to be a new fork on a few days, so yes, it is a good time to invest.

It is never too late to start buying bitcoin, people might be afraid of buying 1 btc because it is either too expensive or they won't be able to make profit that will get them back the money they spent, but the thing with bitcoin is you have to be paitent in order to make profit, if you buy it now you might not make a huge profit in a week or a month but eventually you will make profit, and also poeple don't know that the ycould buy any amount they want from the peer to peer bitcoin exchanges.

I am sure people were told to wait for a dip to buy back when bitcoin was trading for $1, $20, $100, $1,000, $5,000 and so on. Some maybe are still waiting on that dip. You never know what will happen, but with all the mainstream involvement, Wall Street, potential hedge funds, and investment giants such as Fidelity and Vanguard getting interested, in 2 years time looking back at $6k might be considered cheap.

I think that soon bitcoin will become cheaper by 10-30%. And it will be a very good time to buy coins. Then again there will be growth. And this is an excellent chance to get your profit from bitcoin in a short time

As human beings, we can never predict the things. There is no early or late for bitcoin. There is only targets and budgets. You may find $6200 as expensive, but other rich people can see this as a buy opportunity. Totally up to you. I would buy more with these prices.

I think it is never too late to buy btc. Even if there will be a big price correction later on, it will just do another pump in the future that will give profit to those who will buy it. It also might continue going on no matter what like what others say. After all, adoption rate is increasing at crazy speeds. Still, I think it is wiser to just hodl for now and sell some later on rather than buying. It is the wiser move because if the expected correction happens, then we will have fiat to debut back again.

Actually it is never too late to buy bitcoin and still you will earn profit for hodling as long term. For me, bitcoin will still be rising high even we invest today. But in this case, we should move forward for saying always it is late to invest in bitcoin. Instead, have a firm decision and invest in bitcoin surely thing gaining profit will claim.

Even the price of bitcoin is really high now a days i think investing  and ignoring the present price expect that you can make profit in the future not this year if ever the price drop again back after nov. 16 we will see the impact of new fork.. Always buying bitcoin is a good  idea than you are just waiting for the price to decrease or drop  before you buy it will be hard to know the movement of the price of bitcoin there is possibility that the price will be increase more so you can get benefits if the price of bitcoin will increase more..
So is not too late to buy bitcoins nor not too early..

It's never too late to buy bitcoin, especially for long term or daily basis use.
It's too early due to bitcoin price may drop back again? I don't think so, depend on your purpose, as bitcoin price tend to increase over time.
Although there will be some correction along the way of bitcoin development, but bitcoin value constantly growing bigger in the end.
Bitcoin created to be an alternative payment method which better than bank transfer in several cases, it's better if your intention get into bitcoin world because its usability, not for instant profit.

I think, it is the right time to buy Bitcoin, knowing that the increase is continuous also there's an incoming hardfork to look forward to. The succession of the segwit2x would be a huge factor for its value to be more expensive that would also make the profit of its users especially the investors, bigger as its value again, go skyrocket.

I think that it is still too early to buy bitcoins, but it is upto you, it has increased a lot during the last two days, and you can see it by yourself if you look at the charts.
anyway, i am still buying some bitcoins and i am looking for selling them right after away that the price reaches a fair price for me, but i dont know, it has a very good potential and it seems that it will keep rising during the next months. but honestly, who knows how much can bitcoin increase? nobody knows exactly.

About the argument too late or too early to buy bitcoin that depends on the people's mind. Remember if the price of bitcoin increase a lot and they are saying about too late to buy the bitcoin and  if the price gets plunged or hammered and they've said that too early to buy the bitcoin.
Every person has their own arguments about the direction of the bitcoin market. But the big correction will be eventually true. But i just think after the hardfork and that will have happened. That depends on the people's reserach about the bitcoin itself.

Some people are now saying that Bitcoin is going to just keep going up because some companies are starting to notice and want to buy as an investment. If this is true, we could see the price of Bitcoin rise high very quickly.

It’s hard to know who to believe and whether they know what they are talking about but I think it’s probably fair to say that now is still a good time to buy Bitcoins because the price will eventually go higher and you will make money.

Much better if you buy bitcoin early than buying late, because bitcoin is continuous increasing and i notice that every hard fork happens the value of bitcoin goes up more that is why if you have more bitcoin before every event you can gain more profit but i think there is no late investing in bitcoin, me until i have extra money i keep on buying bitcoin because i believed that value is nonstop increasing.

Early or late, it doesn't matter on me , the same thing will happen. You'll going to have profit at the end but of course the earlier, the better. The bigger the profit you will make in a shorter period of time if you buy earlier plus less regret.

[/quote ) Now still provide the best time to buy bitcoin and we expect price to be growing for now till end of 2025. Corrections will be under way and it will be many minimal correction's along the lines. To me the bubble will continue for a long time and I don't see bitcoin too expensive now to buy. We are still at the early stages of bitcoin development and implementation , we still need a lot of bullish market than bearish market.

If you look at the long term then it is still very early in the development phase. Right now we are just seeing some acceptance of bitcoin in society as a legitimate currency and teh price is already going up like crazy. Just think of what it could do for us in the future.

But on the flip side, if you are a short term oriented investor, then right now isn't the best time to buy. There will probably be a dip that will come before/after the hard fork that will take bitcoin price down a bit, and you can buy then.

For me none of the choices that you've given, becauce the price of it is not predictable, maybe it is the most highest crypto right now but there is a chance that the price of it drop and other crypto will surpass the lead of bitcoin, so that's what i think we can't say it's too early or too late because the price of it is changeable.

It is not too late to buy bitcoin because we all know that it will increase in the future than we expected. I would definitely hold the bitcoins and wait for its value to increase and then sell it. Obviously , we are still in the concept of acceptance of bitcoins in other countries. Aside from that, whether it's early or late it doesn't matter anymore , as long as you started it, everything is worth it.

I can very well guarantee that non of the coins in the crypto currency market will surpass bitcoin in terms of price ,you might be able to see better coins with new scaling techniques but you wont be able to over come the price of bitcoin and corner the market because bitcoin is special .The price is always breaking new all time high records all the time and it might reach ten thousand soon.

For me it is currenty a bit late. I bought my last bitcoin in the 3000 region. And looking back at that. I am confident I will not buy more before the prices dips under 5000.
Even tough it limits my altcoin purchases. Because I believe a correct will come.

There is no "too late and too early" in buying bitcoins because the most important thing is you already started here in bitcoin and obviously we can still make profits through it. The bitcoins you have now can be used for investing and trading. And as the matter of fact, no one knows what is the peak value of  bitcoins. So start believing and you will see.

Long term, bitcoin has not really reached the forefront of popular culture and spending, so it's going to be rising in the future.

Don't wait the crash or the correction to buy, most of my friends keep on waiting the price to go down, but the price never go down and they never invested in Bitcoin and in the end they regret about it, so if you got spare money go and buy now, no need to wait the price to go down

I would probably say "No", because some are just familiarizing and learning about how bitcoin works which means you are not the only one and it's not eight to say too late to buy bitcoin. Whether we experience a big price correction or crash, i bet all of us know that it's a part of bitcoin world. If you want to make money and if you are profit loving it is good to buy this currency now and hold it then in the next year invest this money and wait for the price to become high in the market. In the new year the demand of the people will high because the companies will use bitcoin as a payment method online then it is good to buy now.

Yeah if you can manage to hold it for long term then its never too late to buy bitcoins as the price will be very high in long term but if you are looking to make short term profits then this is not the best time to buy bitcoins as now price is close to $10k and if you buy now and if price crashes then you are likely to make a loss.

Well if we compare the price of bitcoin from the past up to now I think it is really too late. If we buy bitcoin during the beginning of bitcoin I think we are now millionaire. Imagine from 4$ up to 9k $ it has a great changes and bitcoin continually soaring.

That's how you'll compare long term investor vs short term investor as firstly indicated by revere. When I did knew about bitcoin before I thought that I was too late to the party and I consider the 3 digit price of bitcoin as something that's really expensive but seeing it's pumping without any limits and if I just held all of my bitcoins before I'll definitely encourage everyone but it's fine I did benefit from those early profits.  ;D

It is to be expected that most people in this forum are going to think the growth it is going to continue and when you look at all the factors I do not see why we could think otherwise, bitcoin price is this high despite the fact that the user base is quite small, bitcoin had a major upgrade with segwit and the lightning network is going to be in full operation in the next year and now the money of many investors is about to enter the market.

This is not too late or too early. We have entered the market at the right time. Maybe it seems late when we think of the price or the growth it has attained, but at the same when we think of the user base we're very small. For this reason we're the one who are gonna get profited after years same as that early adopters experienced.

Well if we compare the price of bitcoin from the past up to now I think it is really too late. If we buy bitcoin during the beginning of bitcoin I think we are now millionaire. Imagine from 4$ up to 9k $ it has a great changes and bitcoin continually soaring.
Bitcoin will keep rising until supply ends and there may be a chance that supply will go further than 21 million and i don’t believe that bitcoin which is becoming the world coin is in limited no satoshi must left some of room to creation of more coin to serve whole world and as when 21 million coin will meet their investors what will happen next and all this thing will be sorted out so become millionaire before ending.

Don't wait the crash or the correction to buy, most of my friends keep on waiting the price to go down, but the price never go down and they never invested in Bitcoin and in the end they regret about it, so if you got spare money go and buy now, no need to wait the price to go down
Investing in bitcoin is a risk, people need to understand that, so all of those waiting for the price to go down are not understanding bitcoin at all, if you want to make money with bitcoin you need to invest whenever you have some spare money to do so, that way your bitcoin holdings are going to keep growing and in the long term your profits are going to dwarf your costs.

Spare money does not happen. The money goes to us with great difficulty. No one wants to lose them. But I think that buying bitcoins now possible and necessary. it will never be below 9000 even at the dump. By the end of this year and next year, bitcoin will still grow. All who are waiting for lower prices to buy coins will be to buy them at 13000 dollars.

There is no early or late for bitcoin. As with any investment, Bitcoin comes with risks and be ready to take it.

I'd say it can always be too late, but it can never be too early.
In case of a growing investment like this whenever you jump in you'll make money. The only difference is how much, as you can always buy in a short term dip and gain more later. On the other hand you can always be late, because no asset keeps growing indefinitely. There will always be a point when it slows down to a stop, or worse starts going down because people have found something newer and better.

We may see some correcting in price in coming days so I will not buy now and will wait for the dip and if it does and goes below $10k once again then will try to buy as much as I can as in long run price will again go very high and if you are a long term investor and can hold your bitcoins for long term then its never too late to buy bitcoins as you will make good money from it if you save it for a right time.

It is never late to buy Bitcoins, nor it is early anymore. Those people who really have the intention to invest in Bitcoin should not see its price, they should see its market movements and they will understand they won't regret their investments later in future. Bitcoin has been growing since its creation, and that is the reason why it reached $11k already and there is still a lot to come. So investing now should still not be considered late, and it is also not early as the investors had already lost many chances of getting profits out of it.
BTW, this thread was started in Oct 31, and now the price has grown too higher than what it was at that time. So the one's invested at that time must have already earned some profit by now.

Bitcoin is a long term player and you cannot expect that it will reach to the moon overnight so to make money from it you should have patience of holding it longer and if you can do that then you are never late in buying bitcoins as if you buy now and forget it for next 4 to 5 years then you will be making very good profits so buy it before its too late.

i think it is too late to be rich by paying small $.

if we back into 2011 you can buy 200 bitcoin for 1000$ and safe it and buy now for 2,000,000 $ from 1,000$

but it is good to earn fast money .

Its end of the year and bitcoin price is very high so it’s very hard and expansive to buy bitcoin now a days and I believe its  late already normally people buy bitcoin when the price is low then it’s easy to buy and then you can keep it on hold because after some time you can sell it out with high price and you can get your profit so selling and buying is a very good source of income and that’s what I’m doing it and it always give me profit you just need to do hard work.

It is not too late nor too early to buying bitcoin as now is still the best time to buy bitcoin. For those who had about bitcoin but cloud not buy in as early as when bitcoin is less than  $10 are now saying it is too late to buy bitcoin and for those that things it is too early to buy it are those that think that bitcoin future is bright and even at $20,000 will still be early to them.

Forget about 2k11 that was the time when no one believes in bitcoin but now everyone is praising bitcoin and bitcoin deserves all this at the start when satoshi created it but there is a bit late appreciation but the time is buy is now because maybe price will be 1000$ high on tomorrow so think sensibly that what suits you either to wait for the rises or to buy and just get your hands into the profit what other are also earning.

Forget about selling, bitcoin did not spend a single day at 13k and now it is above 14k, this is incredible, but at the same time it is worrying while I like the high price I'm wondering if maybe the price is being manipulated at the moment or if there is some news that I do not know about that is making the price that high or if so much money is being invested in bitcoin in just a few days.

I think that everyone should think carefully if does it or not,it works according to your expectations,so the result will be more in line with that, only from the perspective of each one is the decision that must be followed,
the most advisable is to read at least a little before doing it,from my point of view that is still in experimental phase in some way.

It's too risky to buy bitcoin right now because of that massive pump, no one knows when this increase will end and when is the bitcoin will go down. Imagine in just a matter of hours the price go up to $15k, we all know we can reach that amount at least by the end of this year but not in just a matter of days.

And if you buy right now I think you're ready what's going to happen in the next days whether you continue to earn or just loose your money. So better to prepare your mind and your money before going to buy bitcoin.

Being an early or late time to invest in a new cryptocurrency is matter of perspective and what futurist look can you have to that project which just saw light .
But investing in a coin that have been present for over 5 years now and that proved itself able to make profits and realize over 800% of growth in a single year is not a multi choice question at all ! Just buy ,invest , get yourself into this Bitcoin land because you can easily make profits without even having to make any efforts at all !

Bitcoin hasn't reached it's peak yet and it's supply hasn't ended yet , in fact there are over 5 million coins that haven't been even created yet so it's the perfect time to invest while you still got the chance to , and while the charts are still going in more stabilized pace of growth and not just jumping over walls .

it is never sooner or later to buy bitcoin you must wait for your moment to analyze your situation and see what happens taking into account the instability of the currency as it can rise as it did lately and low depends on your haste

Seriously, this is a perfect time to buy bitcoin because in the last period there is a small decrease in price (drop by 5%). As well, It is certain that after this decline, there will be a big jump and maybe this will be developed at the end of this month or at the beginning of next year and at that time may exceed the price of 30K. So it's not late to buy.

Of course not, it is never too late to buy bitcoins.

In fact, this is the perfect time to do it, because the price is not expensive, and it is not cheap too, it is just a half and a half.

I would definetely buy right now if i had some money to do it.

everything depends on your desire to invest

It is never too late to buy bitcoin, you would have to analyze your moment and collect some information based on the currency and the last statistics that as truthful these weeks were not very positive.
taking into account that the bitcoin value has begun to increase in a short time

If you purely focus on the long term, it basically doesn't really matter at what level you buy. Waiting to see the market to go down with like 10 or 20% before you pull the trigger won't do much, especially not in case of Bitcoin.

If you look at the gains this year, then a potential 20% discount is nothing more than a tiny dot compared to the almost 1900% increase at the top, and that's just the increase for this year.

Who knows how much more we will go up before 2020. People just need to understand that even current levels are nothing more than a joke if you think about Bitcoin's potential that likely will greatly exceed $100,000.

yes it is verry late to buy it because the value is now kinda expensive but there where still times that bitcoin goes in a dip or decrease at some point therfor people can still have an oppurtunity to buy it and make it an investment so that they can make a profit to it when bitcoins value could pump again soon.

no, bitcoin is still expected to increase on the next year 2018. most people says that bitcoin is still on its infant stage therfor it can still have more time to grow and develop. bitcoin can possibly tripple its current price on the next 20 years.

no , your absolutely wrong. buying bitcoin can actually bring fortune to someone who owns and hold it because bitcoin has been already proven and tested to generate an income as a form of investment, not only on investment but also in trading , mining , etc.

It's not too late to buy bitcoin because this crypto now are strongly increasing again, I know a little bit more time and this coin was totally recovered. Actually holding is the most exciting part of keeping bitcoin, because you cannot know it this time it was raising up or not.

In addition make sure that if you buy bitcoin you can keep it for long time because I'm sure that when days past bitcoin value are increasing and increasing.

Naa, I think there is still a lot more juice in Bitcoin that can be used. Bitcoin can probably be used as a proper currency after this transaction fee/ waiting time BS has been fixed. Its absolutely horrendous and there is very little we can do about it.

May the lightning network come sooner! :)

It would be best not to simply base your decision on the price, but also the trend and news.

Agreed, but you have to be careful when you read news from the major publications online such as The New York Times, CNN and etc, as they can be loaded with a shit-ton of propaganda.

Well its late if you are going to compare the price few years back because the value at that time is not expensive for us to buy however only few users believe in the potential of btc, who would have thought that it can be a successful crypto. Nevertheless buying at this time is still a good opportunity specially the price is in correction process.
