Bitcoin in 2018 will probably reach the 10,000 mark by end of next year. It is gaining increasingly large exposure in media and is clear that this will only increase.

Momentum will fall after reaching 10k, price will hang out between 10-12k until July/August, creeping to 13.5k Aug-Sept, and touching 15k for a brief moment in November. It will close 2018 sub-15k.

After the events occurring last time I don't even know what amount to call. We have another 2 months this year and bitcoin has already increased the price by 700%. If we assume that bitcoin will never expensive less than 200% per year, the price next year will not be less than 14,000 dollars.

Maybe factor in volume compared to market cap? Often low comparative volume is sign of low interest/community or very uneven distribution if a few wallets hold a very large amount of coins.


Development would be hard to work out if the devs are anonymous, and I think inital distribution should not have so much weight.

My prediction would be heavily relient on the outcome of the whole segwit 2x drama. I expect a fork but from there I don't know what to expect at all. Since bitcoin's weekly chart is looking extremely parabolic, I'm expecting a drop to around $5400-5500. If that happens the lowest price will be our support level going into 2018.
If, in 2018, we are able to integrate lightning network we could very well hit $10000 around may.

I think it'll hover to what it's at right now. I don't know exactly why I feel as so, but I just think that the huge amount of support for bitcoin will peak sometime next year. There will be some conflict and whatnot, but after bitcoin is accepted by major players in the tech business, there will be a little crash due to the lack of continuous support from numerous companies that spark investors to put their money in.

I do not know why people think these big numbers can be easily accessed!

I saw others are still not good with $5,000 floor so they think that $3,500 will still be seen on 2018 but I don't think so, we have to move forward bitcoin's price now is great.

On 2018, possibly that we will be able to witness more ATH's by that year. $8,000 - $20,000 I guess that will be enough for the whole year round.

You know why people are keep on giving this big numbers of bitcoin. We are only expecting the price of bitcoin to become stable this year at $1,000.

But look at where are we right now, it's shining $7,000 mate and that's a lot an 700% increase for less than 1 year.

We can come up more in the next upcoming years, come to think of it that bitcoin is still not widely accepted and adopted so what will happen if 50%+ total population of the world will start in bitcoin?

Looking at the start of the year I would say $10,000 as we roll into 2018.  It could be more if we keep moving like we have been the last couple of months but I think $10,000 is a safe bet.

I won't predict until December. I can't give an amount when we are near to that date as most of our guesses here are really too high. I don't want to go further and beyond with those expectations. I will go with more realistic and believable prediction on 2018. Hitting $7,000 as November enters > coming to an Hard fork this can lead to <-- $3,500 but it can lead it up to --> $7,500 - $8,000 and Christmas season is coming many will got their bonus so it will be invested to bitcoin that will make the end of this close to $9,000 and will be reaching $10,000 as January enters.

I was reading through the replies and was dissapointed to some or even majority who just gave their prediction. I don't know if they are just giving wild guesses but everytime you make a strong statement or conclusion, you need to support it by either technical or fundamental analysis or even both.

Anyway in my opinion, it is really hard to predict since it has gone far and high in price right now. I am actually affraid it may go down sometime next year with the rumors that the government may follow other countries who banned it already.

Yes, I also have that feeling that when bitcoin continues to gain high price then governments will interfere and might ban it when they think it will affect their country. I just wish this will not be happen in the near future.

I think the price of bitcoin in the year of 2018 possible become 10k dollars price more . Because this year possible become 8k dollars.  But actually we don't know what is the exact price of bitcoin in the year of 2018 we only give prediction. But I hope in the future the price will increase more so we can make more money. Buy more bitcoin to make more profit.

Its difficult to reach a clear cut price as it's Bitcoins, currently also if you see its only rising because there's speculation that there will be futures coming, and what happens if there is indeed futures and there is no futures so you need to consider this. So fork and everything goes well, I see it at 8k at the start and 12k by mid year, and if more countries adopt then 15k is a reality, on the downfall I see it at 5k and at max 8k by year 2018 end. It's difficult to read between the lines.

I don't know where you live, but most of us in " third world countries " don't trust our goverments so much. For example, I invested a little of fiat in bitcoin when no one in my country heard about it, and when Goverment issued a warning to practice extreme caution when buying Bitcoin, and generally took negative stance on crypto, I invested much larger amount of fiat. Goverment ban is basically a good thing to raise awarness of Bitcoin, because awarness, in most of the world is 1% or less, and we will not see full price without 50%+ awarness.

Anyway, yes I agree that in first quarter of 2018 the price will probably go down, to 3-4000, but simply because of the people who invested heavily in 2017, in hope of high return. And they tent to get nervous and drop at first sign of price declining. I see lots of that kind of guys lately.

So my prediction, 3000 - 4000 in January and February, and 12 000 - 18 000 end of 2018.

I am also quite sure that Bitcoin Price in the Year 2018 will increase quite high. Now the price will be up to $ 7500 and this has proven that the Opportunities increase is wide open. If accumulated with Systematic Price Raises then Price Can exceeds the expectations we predict. Increased demand for Bitcoin use will also affect how bitcoin prices move in the future.

For me, the pricing would be at $8000-10000 at first quarter of 2018. $10000 on this year might be close but I don't think it would reach it by December.

If we look at the current trend and if it continues in the next year as well, then bitcoins will easily reach around 18000 by the end of 2018. There should not be any negative news around bitcoins which could be the reason for panic selling and price burst.

12,000 US dollars on March or February 2018, that would have a huge uplift for us sellers of bitcoins who are currently waiting for continuing rise of the price of bitcoin in the market. I mean if you buy at 4,500 you get a selling price of it now as 12,000 US dollars that would been a huge boost in our investment.

I predict we go to somewhere north of $80k in this bull run. I think this bull run could last another 2-3 years. How fast we get there I do not know, although I do think we will have 2-3 major tops before. If I would guess those would come at around 9k and 20k.

I think $9k-10k in 2018 is a certainty. I think $25k is a possibility. I think $80k would mean the bull market came faster and lasted less time than I thought.

Most are just speculators and just give out price predictions here and there with the hopes that the prices would go in their favor. It really is hard to tell and predict.

Woah, 3000 - 4000 would be a massive price drop. Is that so? I think we'll experience a price correction because for 2017, the price has been continuously going up. Most have predicted that the price would go up by next year so a prediction of a price drop like that is shocking. Also, how is a government ban a good way to raise awareness of bitcoin? Because it brings bad publicity? I think that a government ban would still negatively affect the price of bitcoin even for a third-world country because it would deprive a lot of bitcoin users.

Well it's possible I guess. By the price reached so far, I estimate or guessing the price in 2018 seems to be at $9000 upwards. And I'm sure more and more people are going to be on bitcoin to make investment, and it's likely more the countries that will be accepting bitcoin as a legalize currency I guess.

It can reach $10000 easily by first few months of 2018. The price would skyrocket if Bitcoin has been widely known by then. It might even reach $16000 at the end of the year 2018.

By the end of this year i think bitcoin will reach $10000 and it will remain for some time in that value early next year. If you noticed the previous price of bitcoin, each year its increasing and price drop are not likely to happen.

I think the price will depend a lot how the hard fork will end,and I think it is very difficult to predict can this growth continue at this speed in next year.If it continues like this even with some corrections price should be in range from 15 000$ to 20 000$.Of course it is difficult to predict what can happen in one year time,some bad news like big exchange hack can pull as back.This is something like when you go through the minefield with a minefield map which is not one hundred percent accurate.

Short and simple! Year ago I would say this is impossible to happen so fast, couple weeks ago I would say there are some little chances this to happen. Yesterday when I saw price when I woke up I was surprised, today I see price is still rising I thin 10.000$ by the end or the year is now more possible then ever before.
25.000$ before the end of 2018 means that price need to rise a bit more then 1.000$ every month. In two days price went up more then 1.000$, so it's possible we to hit 25.000$ before the end of the next year, it's possible, that is all that is matter, bitcoin can do it!

due to a lot of forks that happen this fast few months and big companies are considering to use bitcoin as their payment gateway and also holiday season coming up we can expect in early 2018 that bitcoin price will hit 10000 usd and maybe by the end of the year 2018 it could go as high of 20000 usd

I think the price in 2018 can be high after looking at what this years is not about expectations but reality,in the current year 2017 this BTC increase of 700% is something I cannot predict.The period I see in 2018 is a 14K$ increase of just now prices 100% maybe more.

the price in 2018 will stick at $10000 because the possible price in 5 years from now is $25000 according to wall street they predicted it and I think their predictions in 2022 is close enough to reality. remember in 5 years from now the whole world can implement bitcoin as one of payment method in all stores so the demand would increase that can cause price to blow.

By the beginning of the year 2018, the price will start from $9.5k-$10k, moving from January-June it will be around $10k-$12.5k then July-November will be from$12.5-$14.5k and by Christmas, it will drop to $14k by the end of the year.

Yes i am agree with you that the bitcoin price goes to increasing more at the end of year and also in 2018 because it is possible in the world of bitcoin, so i also think and many experts are says that the bitcoin price hit 10000$ at the end of the year so this is very a good and great chance for the investor to invest their money in bitcoin rather than other investment, and also right at the year of 2018 bitcoin price hit 16000$ very easily.

As of now the price of bitcoin on 2018 is still unpredictable and there is no such thing that can determined what would be the price of bitcoin. In addition to that, there is a possibility that the price of bitcoin will reach $10000 dollars and I hope it would happen because it can be lead to a high income.

To be honest my 2018 goal of 14,500$ is what i expect as a minimum what it will reach.
I think so because we have grown ~100 billion$ in the last 12 months and the whole crypto  thing is just at the beginning like the internet was in the mid 90's.
WHEN it really goes mainstream - and thats what i think it will do - 100 billion$ is nothing! (look at apple, their market cap is of close to 1000 billion$, and thats only one single company!)
So as you see im positive for the whole crypto thing, maybe another coin will be the leader in the future but i think in the next years it will be bitcoin, no matter about the fork.
Even if bitcoin2x will be bitcoin later, everyone will get the same amount he has now in bitcoin - so you cant miss it if you dont sell too early...

my prediction in 2018 is $10,000 but possible to reach in december so I think maybe $20,000 in next year. Many people are now investing in bitcoin in next year so my prediction is $20,000 to $50,000. 

The bitcoin price is around $7,400+ and it will hit $7,500 soon. I'm not sure how much will the bitcoin price hit in 2018, because the price will change again for sure after the next fork finished. $14,500 is beyond big man, i think it will not reach that price, the maximum is $10,000  in the end of 2017.

At first, I thought last month that Bitcoin will only be able to reach a market value of 7000$ as this year end but i was totally wrong. It is now priced at 7400$ and the hardfork is not yet started. After the hardfoek it is expected to be more expensive and maybe, before this year end, it will have a market value of 10000$.

Now a days the price of bitcoin is $13000  and this price is reguraly increasing and from my knowledge about bitcoin I estimate the price of bitcoin will we $26000 at the end of 2018 but know one sure about this price how much it will be reached.

Not sure anyone can accurately predict bitcoin, in January 2017 the best predictions were $10K and it exceeded that, 2017 has been a breakout year for cyptos.2018 will probably see more adoption, regulations and innovations which can also drive BTC to new unprecedented levels. if the transaction cost of BTC is addressed it can reach $50K in 2018

Every year is better than last year and this year was also much more better than last year so next year will be also better than this year because very year bitcoin is going to achieved more target’s and goals which give more energy and power to bitcoin day by day its users are increasing and in next year there is no doubt that some more countries will not only join bitcoin but they will make bitcoin legal so I’m sure next year its price will be more high.

Next year will be very interesting year for bitcoin and other coins.

My personal prediction/expectation for btc in 2018:

Q1: $20k;
Q2: $25k;
Q3: $40k;
Q4: $60k;

For me, Bitcoin won't perform so well this year unless it somehow finds a way to be more user friendly in terms lowering fees and all the good stuff.

So OP did assumed $14,500 on 2018 and look what happened to bitcoin, it went through our non expected price and even we will guess some good price of bitcoin on 2018 there might be things that can't be explained and detailed when it comes to reality. I would assume bitcoin to be stable and will have a support on $20,000 but I know it can go beyond.

According to my predictions bitcoin in 2018 will happen in mid-2018 jaunari be $20 month because the price of bitcoin in 2017 until now on the $14, I'm sure it will happen on the rise after the decline of the other day then. hopefully this will occur at the end of the year until 2018 bitcoin reach with $30 k

I think the bitcoin price would reach $60,000 by the end of this year 2018. The demand of bitcoin is higher than the supply, still.

I believe and have feeling that when bitcoin continues to increasing price value and coninue boom im crypto currency world this year of 2018. and I think the number of people supporting in bitcoin will continue grow..and I wish this will be happen in the near future. because the demand of bitcoin in the market will also grow, so my prediction price value will rise in $20k or more..

My prediction maybe on this month bitcoin price will not recover perhaps mid of February unless if they fix the panic selling on the market Or there are more big companies will emerge to invest in bitcoin cause its a big help to pump the price in the market and for sure the growth rate will increase after that. Same here @Sharted. I used to think more than 100k before 2018 ends, but the price isn't behaving the same way as before. I don't know if it's related to the futures or what, but it seems to be stabilizing on some way.

The price will be very stable during the next months, i think that it will be between $14,000 and $20,000 for a few months until the middle of the year, who knows.. maybe i am not right, but for me, this year bitcoin will be extremely stable.

I think in 2018 the price will be more than 30k because in these days the price is very low and most people will invest in bitcoin and as Christmas went away the price will once again jump upwards and till the end of the year 2018 it will cross 30k as I expected. If we observe the price in the last 3 months it raised about 15000 dollars and reached to 19500, but in the last couple of days the price fell again and now it is about 13500 dollars.

May your predictions right. Many people say that it will be more than 70k till the end of the year 2018 because this will be the year of bitcoin and the investment ratio will increase several times than that of today. I think the price of bitcoin will reach the value of 40k$ at the end of the year. The price of bitcoin may 14,000$ now.But this is just a fluctuations in the price of bitcoin, so we can expect 40,000$.If the investors increased periodically,e ven we can expect more than this.

My truthful guess is $45000 for just this year still dont get your hopes to high or too low. We still cant identify the true precise value of Bitcoin all we can do is watch carefully and have fate on Bitcoin. Also if Bitcoin doesnt go as you planned there are some alternative work that can earn alt or Bitcoin.

maybe we will be going to see the price increase in the middle of this year because I think the price will make another correction and perhaps it will down too deep, but I am not sure. everything could be possible and it could happen because we don't know precisely in this cryptocurrency world and it is better to prepare for the worst thing. the only thing that we can do is sit back, watching where the price wants to go and buy if we still have money.

It seem's that bitcoin price are stabilize at $13-15k in past few days until now. Some people thinking that it would go deeper reaching at $10k, for me it could be possible but of less chances only rather than of climbing high. We only need patience and believing that it will make another surprise in the market.

Just to be realistic, but we will see:
This February BTC is short of recovering from massive collateral damage, stay around USD 8000+.
By Summer, I think it will recover around 10K - 15K again.
In November, the healthy price will be around USD 15K - 17K again. By end of the year, it will stabilize around 20K.

how can you conclude only up to $ 14.5k? should not it have exceeded the $ 50k price this year because every year of development, the bitcoin demand is so high and hard to find that triggers the bitcoin price increase.

With such large fluctuations the price is hardly anything anticipated. I think that the price of about 20k $ at the end of the year is quite a reasonable prediction.

I think it's very difficult to see growth earlier this year. if we see the price movement rises very little. and in just a short time bitcoin fall back. price increases do not always last long. but the belief that this taun the btc price will continue to increase it for sure. especially at the end of the year

Your answer is almost the same as mine, only the nominal is different, ie between $ 22000 - $ 27000, and that is the price I have predicted for 2018. While, November and December is the peak of bitcoin achievement will occupy the highest price.

As I see, I think it could reach to 15K above since now a days bitcoin made a long term decrease of value, I think bitcoin's value gonna make a hike next. Hope so and still looking forward for it.

Bitcoin prices are very difficult to predict because the fluctuations that occur are very easily influenced by the various things that exist. If it refers to a personal analysis I would say that the bitcoin price will be in the range of 15,000usd to 20,000usd by the end of 2018. For me the price of bitcoin which is currently only in the 8.000usd range is not a reason for us to feel pessimistic. Bitcoin will continue to grow and further will be one of the strengths in the financial system in the world. Even one day bitcoin could beat the popularity of credit cards and also paypal as a virtual currency leader today.

Mine is 13,000$ from the price where i started to buy it. I never worry about it being down because it went to 20,000$ after a couple of weeks midway to December last year and i already get my ROI already. And if it will not reach 13,000$ this year, it's ok because i got nothing to lose. I will just hodl it for good and wait for few years to come.

I expect about bitcoin during 2018, that bitcoin will reach at $25000 to $30000 in the end of 2018. But it is my prediction, and i rely on it that bitcoin 100% give us double price. Last year i was predict that bitcoin could be end at $18000 and it has been true. So again i prediction with rely and i am only waiting for it.    

25K to 30K is very possible, the market is still on a low and its currently about 11K so once the market goes up it might probably go well past the previous all time high

$25,000 or $30,000 would be the ideal price at the end of the year. I want to see it badly as my friends who are only for the profit are blaming me now with their losses. Base on the cryptomarket's condition today, i guess bitcoin still have a chance of making its market cap and price to go on a burst. I don't think we will have that bull run so soon. I think with the ETF decision made by SEC (they have time to decide until 29th december) will have a positive affect on 2019. Normally SEC declines and returns all asks right away if they do not even consider it, which means if they haven't rejected it right away says they are thinking about it.

I am not saying they will accept it but I am saying they are considering it, which is better than rejecting right away. That is why if they say one ETF is alrigth at 29th december or couple days early the price of bitcoin will start to rise again at early days of 2019. I have no hope left for year 2018, it has been a stagnant year and will continue to be so, there will be some ups and downs along the way but nothing major and will finish the year like this.

In my opinion we cannot predict the price of Bitcoin this year like previous year because market is not in a stable state and we ETF till 29th Dec to decide based on demand and investors interests. Hoping the best price for BTC to come up in the coming year.
