ETC seems to be on fire lately, any ideas why?

obvious reasons. It is regular market reaction to price of bitcoin. If bitcoin price rises people tend to buy other altcoins as well at reasonable prices. Ethereum classic price was pulled in september.

teeka tiwari says ETC will hit $100-200 next year. I believe him.

I think it's the real ethereum. Maybe one day it'll be worth more than eth.

big sell wall is coming up, better to sell off if you made some quick bucks since i made previous post  ;D

ETC is a dead coin to me. What do you call a rise? 5% a day is usual market swing. It wasn't able to rise even after Teeka's positive call

Okay. I really have to start asking. Who on earth is Teeka Tiwari and why is his name popping up all over the place? I know I can just use Google to see, but would any of you guys who've started using his name here like to explain why you think his calls are good? Is he like another Jamie Dimon who's suddenly become some expert that has a lot of newbie accounts following?

Now ETC: this rise can't be anything more than gentle buying pressure. It hasn't had any significant developments for a really long time. It's as stable as it gets though, but until one of the many sites I use start accepting ETC, I can never see a big future for it.

rising and only moving for less than 10% ?
it's not surprising for us to see that kind of move,because it's a decentralized and people can do as their wish.
what i mean is pumping it and dumping it,is not a problem right ?
also,it's an altcoin because of the pressure some people want to make a bull trap to get out off the market and want to hold some bitcoin before the fork.
other than that,some people want to make some money in this bloody day,that is why we can see such a thing.
nothing to worry about because it's our daily activity.

Maybe not 2018 but I see ETC price to be between $70 to $150 by 2019. Present upward movement might just be some pump or accumulation.

yes I think that's normal and not surprising  but what surprise me is, why OP make this thread, Could this be the first time he sees moving prices less than 10% ???

Most of the alts have bounced nicely in last day or two so ETC is in the same boat.
It has not done anything exciting for a while anyway.

To make the altcoin will be stable against the bitcoin. Or just short term recovery to the altcoin. As you can see a lot of people are seeing the fast money right now and they are all trying to jump one to each other just like people are moving into the bitcoin and then back again to the altcoin. That already become a trend in this time.

I mean, there is absolutely no reason other than just normal market activity. The demand for ETC jumped one way or another, perhaps because of some guy on the internet saying that the price will skyrocket for ETC.

Other than that, it's just normal fluctuation for the market. Just how trading works with altcoins.

The general trend seems to be still downwards, though.

This is a signal that the ETC signal is increasing, it is still a potential coin.

Demand increased to ethereum because of Vitalik tweeted about some improvements about project's future. Also high bitcoin prices causes panic on market and investors who sold out their  position on bitcoin wanna to buy reliable coins like ethereum.

This is no real rise (organic) for ETC, it may be the small fluctuation over the price of ETC which is not limited to ETC only.
Many of the alt coins are seeing a steady growth of 10-15% and that is because they are way below there actual/predictable price at the moment.
People are moving to BTC for the high tides and upcoming fork greed. When they see a coin in an uncertain dip, they move to it with a hope that it will add up to their BTC value.
This is a normal movement and nothing to be hyped upon.

I dont think ETC suddenly rising. It's price decrease a lot due to people sell their coin to push up bitcoin price. Now people realize that ETC too cheap. So ...

I wouldn't really say on fire because the gains that were brought by in recent days were just 10% or so. Nothing major at all, of course good for ETC investors but it's probably not even in the top 3 in terms of daily gains at the period of the pump.

Honestly, a lot of times coins just get pumped without any reason. ETC seems like one of the cases and now there is a correction.

There's also a guy who's signaling ETC getting higher, which i don't have a stance on honestly.

The price of ETC had a major resistance over $10 and now it has breached that and the main reason for the recent push is because there is a big Summit coming up in a few days and you can expect some major news from them,i read somewhere that the Chinese exchanges has started or planning to start trading platform with ETC and may that was the push it needed.

there is a convention in 10 days and there may be some big announcement 8)
