Hello guys i want to buy bitcoin and i am a newbie so don't know much about wallet and bitcoin. So is Zebpay safe for purchasing bitcoin or should I go for another wallet?

Didn't use it before, but heard about it couple times already so probably reliable service. But to be sure, use more known/reliable services like gemini/bitstamp/bitfinex etc. this are years long exchanges that let u buy/sell bitcoins.

Zebpay is fine as I have used it many times before, and never had any problems with them.
While recommending it, I would like to let you know about the cons too:
- Too much manipulation of the price and higher spreads.
- My brother recently got a news from people who were withdrawing fiat or buying Bitcoins from Zebpay to/using Kotak Mahindra Bank that they will freeze your account once they see a payment coming from such exchanges, so if you have an account at Kotak, better create a new bank account in some government bank like Bank of Baroda or SBI for withdrawal purposes.

Use a wallet that allows u to access your private key, e.g. coinb.in, electrum.org etc., and trade on LocalBitcoins.com. This is how u play safe.

I have used zebpay many times few months ago. I trust this app. They have some minimum buy/sell limitations as well as they demand to submit your identity to make smooth buy/sell of your coins.

I have regular exchange deals with a friend residing in ahmedabad india, he uses zebpay to send me bitcoins and in exchange, i fill his paypal.
He continuously use zebpay as his bitcoin wallet without any interruption.
Zebpay is your local bitcoin wallet and exchange, so incase they turn to scam, you can take legal actions against them.

I will give you an honest opinion since I am a regular user of Zebpay. I can't say that Zebpay is absolutely secure since there are some issues with it. The only thing that I don't like about it is the deposit of rupees. The amount deposited once might take days to get credited to your account. Their support is not that well too. Although they give a response but they do it very slowly and the issue takes more days to get solved. Other than this it is a good platform to buy/sell Bitcoin and withdraw it to your bank. I never had trouble in sending and receiving BTC and withdrawing RS to bank. So other than depositing rupees everything else seems fine to me.

Zebpay is India based wallet and it is top 2nd wallet used in India. There are unocoin and coin secure as well but they are very shitty the way they operate and it very hard to get hand on them after submitting the KYC docs.


Zebpay will set account for you over your phone and they don't do any web based wallets at all. Thats easier to use it over your smartphone and you can faithfully buy the bitcoin and sell from there. You can also put bids on your bitcoin so if someone is interested then they can buy it from you. Very good wallet form India and they have other local additional features like recharges, bill payments etc. Plus its completely free if you send money to your zebpay contacts.

If you are from India it's one of the most popular exchange out there so you are good if you'll buy your bitcoins through it. It is safe for purchasing your bitcoin but don't keep it there, what you have to do after the purchase is transfer it with a much safer wallet like blockchain.info or a good desktop wallet where you hold private keys. Getting ready to the B2x fork is better to put it with any wallet that you have the private keys to make it safe and you can claim your free B2x after it.
