Title: Amazon and Bitcoin

Do you think Amazon will accept bitcoin (in this year or next future )?

Well, the rumor is already there.Amazon may have no plan to accept cryptocurrency now, but Amazon’s attitude matters greatly. It’s reasonable to assume that if Amazon eventually accepts cryptocurrency, the entire market could be lifted.

Note, on October 31, Amazon registered three domains related to cryptocurrency, sparking speculation that Amazon may soon begin accepting cryptocurrency. The domains are amazonethereum.com, amazoncryptocurrency.com, and amazoncryptocurrencies.com. Amazon already owns the “amazonbitcoin.com” domain name.

This is not the first time a rumor has circulated that Amazon will accept digital currency. A few weeks ago, there was news based on sources in Silicon Valley reporting that Amazon could soon integrate Bitcoin as a payment option.

There's already multiple threads about this, and thus far no official word, only speculation and hopes.

As I said in other, similar, threads I would be glad if they started taking bitcoin.  Myself, I don't like to
spend crypto when I can spend fiat, but sometimes you need cash and sometimes you need physical
things, the latter of which Amazon provides, and does it well.  I would gladly spend some of my
campaign earnings, for example, on books or video games from those guys.  And I'm sure a lot of the
shit posters on bitcointalk who abuse campaigns to no end feel the same.  They can't sell their bitcoin
here because no one trusts them, and there needs to be an outlet for them (and people like me) to
spend what they earn.  I'd love to see Amazon start accepting not only bitcoin, but other alts like
doge and litecoin.  But we'll see.  As of right now, it's only rumor and hope.

As far as I'm concern, this is still a rumor until such time that Amazon did really confirm that they are going to accept bitcoin as mode of payment. There are news saying that they bought 3 crypto related domains, so this must be sign that they will accept it in the future. But honestly, its better to wait till we have a official word from them. And if they did then bitcoin price will boom and be pump once again. Lets see how things will evolved regarding their decision on the acceptance of bitcoin.

Looking at their free shipping policy, amazon appears to operate mainly in the united states. Their shipping network isn't equipped to function well on an international basis. If north america represents amazon's largest consumer demographic, I think they'll wait for international expansion to grow before including widespread support for crypto currencies.

The large majority of americans have access to debit/credit cards/paypal/gift cards & including support for crypto likely won't make a difference in their domestic US markets. Internationally however the percentage of consumers with access to electronic payment can decline. Crypto having a lower bar to entry for consumers could make it an attractive method of digital payment in areas like africa which are prone towards having unstable currencies and perhaps not the most cost effective methods of electronic payment.

What amazon's precise business plans are is anyone's guess. Business is going very well for them atm. Their key thing is efficiency. Eliminating "brick and mortar" stores gives them an efficiency advantage over traditional stores. Whether amazon expands and includes support for crypto may depend upon regulation. Tariffs, taxes, fees on shipping. Import/export regulations from US based businesses to foreign countries. Whether amazon can establish distribution centers in other countries who will be open to them operating there.

I don't think amazon will include support for crypto in 2018. But there is https://purse.io/ (which I have never used btw and can't comment on) it could make direct crypto support redundant to a degree. Paying for things on amazon with crypto may not be that difficult. What might be hard is finding shipping support, especially for international residents.

There are many rumors about this and speculation that they might accept it after they've already created sites that is related to digital currency that shows they might potentially accept bitcoin and ethereum. But still this are all rumors still no official word from amazon itself maybe they're waiting for the holiday seasons to come where there are lots of volume buyers or another big company to invest to convince them to invest to and join the bitcoin train.

That's a bit strange for me. How people are taking it seriously. The amazon gives mass adoption or advertisement to the bitcoin and that's okay. But it seems the amazon try to divided the market. And it just like the amazon try to build an public opinion about the amazon try to adopt the crypto because the amazon already bought some domain related to the crypto. But remember the amazon can change the plan anytime.  Remember that's waste our time to bet on the rumor.

this is just a rumour, you all are taking this very seriously because all those are just fake news, it is like when there were some people saying that apple stores were going to accept ethereum, a lot of people took it seriously and the price of eth skyrocketed for a few days, but then it dropped.
This is the same, it is just a rumour and people are considering that amazon will start to accept bitcoin, and for me, it is not possible, and it would not happen for now.

This is 100% not true my friend. The whole rumor that started about Amazon accepting Bitcoin was done so by a former employee of theirs who is known for this kind of thing. He creates false news headlines and this is one of them. I must admit it would be cool to see Amazon accept Bitcoin, but their current setup is near, if not perfect and you know they say "if it ain't broken, don't fix it".

if amazon can take a look for a big opportunity to use bitcoin then i think amazon will accepting bitcoin as the payment because with the news of bitcoin in every where, amazon will thinking more about bitcoin. but i think amazon will use bitcoin if the price is not too volatile because they don't want to see any problem when their customer used bitcoin as the payment in future. maybe amazon is waiting for bitcoin price is stay at the one level price so they can try beta tester to use bitcoin for the payment.

Yes, I think Amazon will eventually accept Bitcoin as a payment method. I also think many other companies will as well. The problem is that with Bitcoin fees so high, I don’t think many customers are going to want to spend their Bitcoins for many of these purchases. I think other cryptocurrencies will eventually also be accepted as a payment method and many of these will be better suited for this purpose because of lower fees and for faster transaction times. It may take several years for this to happen, but I think this is the future of cryptocurrencies.

I have seen before that Amazon was interested in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

They actually would have grown more as a company and made more profit had they just bought into some type of bitcoin or eth or something.

It is funny when you think about it and look at how many alt coins were less than 1 USD and are now worth tens of dollars or hundreds on some. Amazon for "how smart they are" sure are not smart enough to get into crypto now while the prices are still low. Had they have been accepting BTC since the beginning they would have billions of USD worth of BTC if they held it.

Isn't amazon trying to crate its own crypto? Yeh it would be much easier if Amazon just accepts BTC or other cryptos, but given its Amazon they will definitely look for profit. I'm not sure how making their own crypto is going to profit them, but it seems like they are moving in that direction.

Probably not now but soon Amazon will give in and join other online markets once they will accept bitcoin on their site. I think most of the online companies are already interested in the cryptoworld and are even thinking of creating their own to benefit from it rather than conjoining from a widely known blockchain such as bitcoin and ethereum but let's just see how far this goes.

Making their own crypto is just necessary, people already comfortable by using payment method just like paypal or credit card and by creating their own crypto, they will just confusing their customer, nothing more especially if they deploy their own blockchain, they will forcefully rewarding their miners with the coin that can be used to pay stuff in amazon and so on. For me, not a wise move, but maybe different from amazon perspective.

amazon has been evolve fo a long time time, from selling books to a giant e-commerce, and bitcoin was an e-commerce too. so there is no doubt that amazon will soon adapt bitcoin but they are just observing the market and waiting for the right moment or they are making another cryptocurrency adaption. . so their site like amazonethereum.com and amazoncryptocurrency.com are a sign that amazon are preparing and ready to be launched.

Well, it wouldn't be impossible for amazon to do that just in case they will turn their interest on crypto. I find in better for them if they have their own branded crpyto which is a good promotion too for the business.
It will be a future massive coin/token for the people and it will turn tide to other kinds of it, mainly those who have purposes for E-Commerce (buying , selling online).

No and no. Amazon will not be accepting bitcoin - ever. You can count my words. There has been a running rumpor made by some FUD spreaders in the forum about amazon accepting bitcoin. However this will not happen and if it was to happen then there would be a official announcement from Amazon and also there would be a huge spike in bitcoin price.

As of now, no news about it. All the hype created was nothing but for a rumor and a new thing noticed on what Amazon did is that they bought new domain names and those names we're surprisingly we're crypto names, like ethereum. No one is hyped up for it which is again surprising here. I think amazon will introduce itself to bitcoin most probably in 2018.

For the fact that there is a rumour around it shows that its on the table and some of the options to consider. They themselves as an organisations knows about this and that is why they willingly leaked such to the press in other to get the feeling of people and their reactions as well as regulatory agencies. If the good reception is very much more than the backlash, then we should see some implementation around that in the coming days but if otherwise, we still have to wait a long period of time before that will see the light of the day.

I think before the petition was put into action, amazon has already at the back of their mind thinking of bitcoin as a acceptable mode of payment. I think as early as May or June, or maybe earlier than that they are considering bitcoin however when the price pick up they have made the decision to just wait. And when it was petitioned last October, they renewed their interest to see if its fit their business organization goal. However, right now they don't see fit so I guess we have to wait.

It is possible they really do not have the possibility of implementing it soon or they really do, but there is one thing I have known about these guys and their strategies which is to use rumors and speculations to get public opinions before they make a pretty big decision. Well, the public opinion is glaring and it seems most of their users who are crypto enthusiast obviously want it, so it is possible, rumor or no rumor, we may see them activating it soon or in coming year, with CNBC even announcing them registering some domains about 5 days ago.

Since amazon is buying crypto domains it will probably not take long before they accept bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. The rumors seems to be true and like you I expect it to be implemented this year or the next. The only thing I can say for certain is that it would take less than a year from now for amazon to accept bitcoin if it is really true that they are buying domains related to cryptocurrency. If not, then it might take a while for them to accept btc and crypto.

Yeah this will indirectly influence many other online commerce services to follow in the same path of accepting bitcoin as a payment option. Plus since Amazon doesn't accept PayPal ,another prospective payment method will be an added advantage for bitcoin.

It's likely that if Amazon does accept crypto, they will merely outsource that to an intermediary who processes crypto transactions and immediately converts to the local currency where they are shipping to or operating at. I don't see Amazon as being too interested in holding crypto, but only using it as a means to appeal to anyone who might not otherwise buy something from Amazon, and with the amount of sales they presently do, it's not likely to be meaningful.

As for Amazon's efficiency, they're actually acquiring brick and mortar stores now (there have been multiple acquisitions recently designed to give them a physical footprint, Whole Foods being the largest), and they're generally doing so because a purely online presence presents particular obstacles they haven't been able to solve.  And Amazon already has large scale operations outside of the US, recently announcing they were expanding their operations in Mexico and breaking in to Brazil in a more meaningful way. I don't particularly think crypto will play a meaningful role in foreign markets as much as the US, if they ever decide to go that route, and even then, I don't see it ever being a meaningful needle mover for the company.

Well it is all speculation at this stage and we'd have to wait for while  to see how things will unfold but it speaks well for bitcoin if amazon will adopt it as one of their payment processors because there are a lot of people who want to access amazon remotely but bare denied due to their credit card or jurisdiction and bitcoin can bridge all that discrimination.

I think so, like very other companies that are now into bitcoin. Also Apple, google and other popular companies that are into technology and innovation will be later on accepting bitcoin on their payment method. I'm waiting for facebook to start accepting bitcoin for their facebook ads and when that happens I'm going to boost my pages through them since they are sucking my PayPal's balance even without noticing it.

Yes,it seems that very soon it may officially announce about accepting bitcoin payments. There were lots of petitions from users to amazon CEO to accept bitcoin.Already, there are some online stores which accept bitcoin.I think that amazon could no more avoid bitcoin since there is a huge competition in online retail business and amazon would not like to deliberately leave its customers to other competitors.

There have been certain rumors about the same thing..amazon could accept bitcoins no doubt but I think its a little bit harder right now.

Since in 10 days we are going to see a hard for coming thus its literally impossible to predict the prices of bitcoins and if they by any chance suffered a major  blow amazon might not accept at all..but if bitcoins proved to be still the regining emperor that they are the. For sure they can go ahead with their plan of accepting bitcoins..

So I think its a little hard for bitcoins , to be accepted this year by amazon.. but there are probability of bitcoins being accepted in the future no doubt.

Probably next year Amazon will announce the acceptance of bitcoin as a legal tender because bitcoin became more popular through the years and I guess it was able to meet the trust of most people even different establishment  maybe they are just studying the best tactic to hold bitcoin and how it will be accepted considering the fluctuations it experience from time to time.

It wouldn't make any difference if amazon accept btc or not the price is already high. But ya the acceptance would make it more easier for many to make purchases accepting only credit cards is too traditional, but the only issue is with btc we will have to pay the same price while you can get amazon gift cards at 10-20% on this forum.

This will surely have a impact on the price of that particular coin because of less demand and lesser coverage.

They need to consider many aspects when first have thought of accepting bitcoin. Implementing new payment method especially something that's not officially recognised as legal currency is just complicated.
If just the scalability problem that every currencies with blockchain system have stay unresolved. Nothing to expect that there'll be coming mass acceptance.

Purse.io has really made it so easy for those who have gift cards to exchange it for bitcoin with a discount for those who are willing to use their bitcoin to buy stuffs on amazon. However, let's face it, integrating it directly on the site and probably introducing escrow with it as well would make it even more interesting to use directly.

Purse has been doing some pretty good job, no doubt and they will still stay relevant most especially with the whole discount thing, but Amazon integrating it would create much more awareness than we can imagine.

It seems to me that Amazon would not be the first in making payment of the bitcoin. It seems to me that the top managers of the company are not oriented in the modern world. They use the topic of bitcoin for self-promotion. This allows them to be free in the top of the news. It seems to me that a little time will pass and people will stop paying attention to the news. This niche will be filled by someone else.

Right now it is mere a rumor.

Unless Amazon declares itself, I won't be believing anything even if they are buying crypto related domains or partnering with some crypto companies. But if Amazon starts accepting Bitcoin, then that move will bring a huge number of investors towards Bitcoin as Amazon is the biggest player in online retail market and a brand like Amazon when trust something, then that becomes trustworthy among masses. Moreover, Amazon accepting Bitcoin will also help in increasing the utility of bitcoin.

No doubt all companies are getting interested in BTC, this will affect everyone to hold bitcoin. the impact of BTC prices increasingly expensive, as demand is increasing.
It's not too late to buy BTC at the moment and start saving it or trading. not too late
Amazon is creating an example for other that this coin has a lot of potential to give so use it and that’s why many other companies and online stores are thinking to adopt this coin because this coin is totally game changer and it is revenue generator coin so adopting this coin will give a lot of benefits and this will welcome the international client this coin will expand business as well so amazon is doing good so far.

Amazon and Bitcoin could very well happen it is just a decision they have to take and so it totally depends on the type of people making the choice. They can accept BTC and get a lot of people paying that way, even though there is Purse.io that offers you discounts on Amazon if you buy with BTC, because it's such a big name. But they'll need to decide whether they want people taxing them.

For being a known onlinr marketplace it will be a hard decision.
The risk is there and it is not a small one.
There are many people now who are holding bitcoin and if ever they accept it, it could also lead to a big loss that might be harder to recover.
Just think about how we lose money just by holding bitcoin, whenever it goes down we are already in pain. What else for a larger scale.

Although all the news about the acceptance of bitcoin by amazon are just rumors and there isn't any official statement released related to this till now but it is expected that they will accept in near future. As with time the world is realizing the importance of crytos, people are much attracted toward this money due its unique characteristics, they find it more convenient and safe way, so as more people joining the community amazon need to allow the purchases with bitcoin to facilitate these type of users.

If it would happen in the future for me it is a good thing to have particularly to transaction. Amazon application or any other type of site that offers buy and sell could be a big factor for having a faster and reliable way of transaction and bitcoin in the form of crypto-currency and having the capability to be a currency of the future could help people to have transaction in the way of buying and selling thing on different sites with the used of Bitcoin.

There is rumor spreading around the market that Amazon would soon accept bitcoin payments.Amazon users had been petitioning its CEO to accept crypto currencies.

Already,Overstock.com is a big online retailer accepting bitcoin since 2013.Amazon will not be willing to lose its customers to other online retailers deliberately.

Its recent registration of three domains in the name of cryptocurrency has made the matter more hot.Even if it announces bitcoin payments to be accepted, still it would take years for it to implement it.

Holding is a decision and not a must. Any seller can decide to exchange it to fiat immediately after payment and nothing will be wrong with that. Every currency goes down and it is just one thing we have to consider using the coin. In fact, it has gone up more than down in the past few months, so on a normal day I would not even be worried.

There are so many services too that offers direct conversion into fiat and if amazon decides to integrate that into the system, good for them and if they decide to go the purse.io way, then good for them as well, but one thing I am sure is that, it can work.

Now that the price becomes more unstable because of the cancelled bitcoin fork and the bitcoin cash and bitcoin gold pumps that lowers the price of bitcoin, the possibility that amazon will accept bitcoin is getting lower. It is a threat to them because of the fluctuating price of the bitcoin. They can lose money if the price of bitcoin will fluctuate to a lower price.

At the beginning of the rumors of this issue I was skeptical about its authenticity because before then amazon was not nearly as active in Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency. After that some time, the amazon side had more positive views and statements about crypto, though it was not so obvious, but everyone could feel it. In addition, the fact that they bought three domain names related to crypto, it also makes people feel it more clearly. I think they will accept Bitcoin soon, maybe next year. But we still need to wait for official information

I would really love to see amazon accepting bitcoin and that would mean a lot for the users of the currency, amazon itself and for bitcoin and cryptocurrency at large. It would create more awareness and then we see so many hopping into the train.

Amazon and other big merchants will have to accept using it at some point even though it is more of a speculation now, but it would make easy payment for international means and the practical daily usage would make the cryptocurrencies more relevant.

This trait of bitcoin has nothing to do with whether Amazon will accept it. They will need to issue refunds when something will go wrong no matter what.
And most likely they won't be able to do it directly by sending back the coins - instead, they will try to issue a refund as Amazon wallet balance or something.

There is always speculations before official words, that is pretty much normal. Probably, maybe the speculations would drive them to even consider it and make it official since they would have seen so much interest from their users and it would mean a lot for them being like the first big player to take that bold step. It would be a good thing and I really hope we get to see that very soon.

I agree to that. With the popularity of bitcoin it will make the amazon recognize that bitcoin is a great type of currency and a good mode of payment in their company. If bitcoin will attract more people into it and make a lot of noises around the world then i believe that it is enough for the amazon to accept bitcoin because since they are more on being a business then they will depend on the people on what are they commonly using as a mode of payment or what they prefer most.

Actually working on it not just Amazon. But I do not see significant progress. It seems to me that all potential sellers who are ready to trade bitcoins deterred by the high price per transaction and long waiting time for confirmation. In my opinion high transaction fees is not a problem. Right now one can pay $0.15 for a transaction and in two days max it will be confirmed. They need to develop a scheme which will make it possible for buyers to pay the lowest transaction fee and still have the ability to purchase a product.

Bitcoin is very important for amazon and same amazon is important for bitcoin because when amazon accept bitcoin so the traders and investors will be increased and the price can go more high than ever and I’m sure when amazon accept bitcoin so the neighbor countries will also accept bitcoin and there is no doubt that bitcoin will also play a very great role there.

What I think it might be (and it would be very easy to implement) if Amazon will sell their gift certificates (for BTC on one site, for Eth on another).
For those who is interested in Amazon I would definitely recommend "The Everything Store: Jeff Bezos and the Age of Amazonof bi" by Brad Stone
There is interesting description of Amazon history and strategy
Amazon has strategy of buying niche leaders, and sometimes buying at a loss and they can afford running with losses for a long time, just for the sake to kill competitor.
Interesting, if Amazon comes seriously to crypto world, will they have similar strategy?..

There have been rumors of amazon buying some domain names related to virtual currency I think the Amazon days accept bitcoin or some coin as the main payment method is not far away.
I think Amazon won't ignored this kind of opportunities for this generation. Knowing that Amazon is one of the known companies globally, any possibilities for them to take steps towards crypto might be possible anytime. And we all know that some companies had been involved and start accepting bitcoin as a mode of payment at this time. And we can make some speculations that it will be spread to the small business around the world in the coming years.

It will be a nice development if and when Amazon will finally adopt bitcoin as a means of payment on its site. With the talks, I had thought by now they must fully incorporated it fully into their site. Amazon is a leader in online store market. So, if they adopt the use of Bitcoin, they will set a standard for the other online store coming up. And also, means of payment made easy with the use of bitcoin. I did wait for it and also believe it will help in informing /educating a new area of persons.

I dont think  bitcoin billing is not necessary to have of amazon because the transactions too vague for them and the users to use them properly and to be honest bitcoin is not user friendly to use right? It is not so easy to understand sometimes. As for Amazons reputation i think they will not tarnish it with a cryptocurrency although bitcoin has a feature to compromise a transaction with no reverse whatsoever meaning no refund.

Amazon has the good profit and it is one of the largest global firms. Bitcoin has also good rise and it is the most powerful decentralized coin. With two of these colliding together it would only bring benefits to both of them. Amazon will accept BTC for sure in the future. There are already whispers on the internet about that happening very soon. Amazon has fear of unknown but that unknown BTC is getting more and more popular and is getting known by all kinds of people. Merging will happen very soon!

Amazon being largest global firm and having good profit since then with bitcoin which you mentioned to be powerful decentralized coin just have no correlation, amazon tend to legal payment method with insurance behind it just to make sure that their customers will be safe, the volatility of bitcoin which making the price always changing so significantly can be a problem for amazon because they could receive less amount of money if not automatically exchanged to fiat when customers sent bitcoin.

I think amazon should try accepting bitcoin since the risk is greater in the buyer's side and not on merchants because the transactions in irreversible.
Amazon’s administration is well aware of this thing and this acceptance will give people acknowledgement use btc as payment and most probably maybe this decision of amazon will lead amazon to beat Alibaba business and this thing will also give rise to use this coin as currency and in future this coin will completely take over the currency field so the decision is good to prepare for the future so that to earn more profit.

You are saying the strange thing about the bitcoin that the demand of the bitcoin is getting high but almost all the people are having the bitcoin as you said the Amazon is now accepting the bitcoin and this I the best step in the case of the bitcoin because now a lot of the people will buy the bitcoin and it will increase the value and the price of the bitcoin, now a lot of the people are buying the bitcoin and this is the use of the Amazon and the other currencies.

Amazon like other sites depend on government so bitcoin need to be accepted by government first then all other sites will accept it  but bitcoin need no bank need so it is so hard to be accepted.
Amazon need some time to be in bitcoin and i can say bitcoin prices will back to rise again in the next 3 years and amazon will find that too many people want to buy more and then will support bitcoin.
it is a time only. and all over the world will accept bitcoin

One of the best methods is to directly convert to fiat. I think that has been done by many parties at this time. so that's not an excuse and I think Amazon's company has been thinking up that level. Bitcoin is not fear, we have stigma that Bitcoin scary because it can make a loss. but when we can maintain confidence and trust then we can even make Bitcoin prices to be stable. this is not just a dream, it's all on the way to reality. this is when the big companies like Amazoin can adopt and start implementing Bitcoin. Maybe everything can start with the smallest and will end in a very big thing.

Bitcoin is gaining ground in financial landscape. It is getting major support at global level. We might not see a business model working over volatile currency at present. But the portion of people using Bitcoin for payment will be very less as for now. Thus, volatility won't affect the overall gain of the company. In future when acceptance will increase and so does the Bitcoin currency use, volatility might decrease and price might stay bullish.

I think we will see mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency within e-commerce within the next 5 years. Will it be Bitcoin? Possibly not unless the the cost per transaction is reduced
The cost per transaction does matter a lot but is not being reduced by the sites such as AMAZON that has been established as the greatest of all E-commerce sites in the world integrating most of the digital currencies in a day. The main reason behind it is to control the flow of currency in the market and moreover, this is important for the sake of earning by the stake holders of the investment market.

Therefore we can only presume that the prices would get low but according to me no matter whatever the rates would be, crypto is definitely going to rule the online banking systems.

It will be hard for Amazon to get into something that is not sure since their credibility is at stake. This news of amazon to accept Bitcoin as a mode of payment was there for almost a month now.

As far as I know, amazon has already started this facility to the owners of bitcoin that they can even pay their bills in the form of bitcoin. This is really a good news to hear and this is indeed increasing the fame of bitcoin.
You think they are not oriented ? These guys know so much than you can imagine but you cannot just expect them to quickly embrace it just like that when it is still in its early stage, looking at its level of volatility.

However, we have to understand that purse has been doing something related to this with the use of escrow and it is just a matter of time before you see people getting used to it, once amazon hit their own ecosystem with the digital currency.

It is really an example and with the fact that amazon is a giant player in the FMCG industry, it would really drive others and even the smaller ones, to start going through with it as time goes on and as it gets broaden. There would be a lot of benefit to this and for everyone who has some bitcoins now and for those who will even get in later as it would make payment means for products most especially across the borders very easy.

Remember that's waste our time to bet on the rumor.
maybe the OPs expressing how greatful. To the bitcoin community if amazon accepted the crypto as mode of payments and i see no wrong upon that attitude as we all know that amazon is one of the biggest company that provides households materials so it is a big benefits for us crypto people having them as one options for buying.lets just all wait what would happen soon besides doesnt affect the market by that issue

Price stability might be a big reason to avoid the usage of bitcoin by large scale business people as a means of payment. Also several large business firms make an acceptance and soon stop the service when they didn't get the expected business through the same. Other hand I haven't come across any such official statement from Amazon stating their acceptance of bitcoin.

"In the past amazon used to accept" from where have you pulled out this information.  To my prior knowledge they haven't ever accepted any cryptocurrency nor bitcoin itself. Prove me wrong but I think that you have mixed this maybe with steam which stopped with their support for bitcoin payments but that's for different topic.

How is this possible How would you pay for a currency that makes such an irregular movement in the market How can you accept a payment as an intermediary There is a difference in exchange rates that will not really change If you can catch Bitcoin is a solid payment system but with a money moving daily 2000 3000 dollars, I think that the seller will suffer a lot.

I don't think so, bitcoin has too much bumps and dumps, every single day its price is changing a lot... So it is not a good ida for current company.
Also the payment time and fees would be a disaster for cheap stuff and for people who want to spend as less as they could.
I think something like Ripple would be much better, or something near to ripple would fit there.

But it is still difficult to implicate in the system and it is more complicated to adapt bitcoin in the system as it seems to be, there will be a lot of rejections from banks and governments opposing this movement. So, it is difficult to say that bitcoin may integrate into amazon or not.

I don't remember Amazon ever accepting Bitcoin. Perhaps you're thinking of Overstock? Overstock accepts Bitcoin still. Amazon has recently registered several crypto-related websites, but there is no additional information about the plans there. If Amazon does accept Bitcoin, I find it more likely they'll use it to lure in consumers who are inclined to pay with it (although, with $35 transactions fees, who is going to shop with Bitcoin for everyday purchases?), but it's more likely than not that Amazon will use an intermediary to process transactions and forward the proceeds of sales on to Amazon in fiat and not retain any crypto themselves. Amazon announcing Bitcoin would drive the hype cycle even higher for Bitcoin, but I don't see it having any practical impact outside of hype.

I saw a news about a week ago Ebay is planning to accept Bitcoin. I'm not sure about Amazon adoption of Bitcoin but it's most likely to happen shortly.

Bitcoin is a digital currency and now it was accepted by Amazon. It's a great news to the people having bitcoin and had a business with bitcoin.Because they can pay with bitcoin instead of FIAT . They no need to lose their bitcoin for the transaction fees. They can directly pay bitcoin with out change to dollar.

There used to be so many leaks about Amazon planning to accept Bitcoin that it would be natural for them to do it at some point. I doubt all of these have been made up, some could come from real sources that simply postponed the adoption somewhere along the way. Accepting Bitcoin means free advertising and bitcoin trading on Amazon is already being done with the help of gift cards. They don't have much to lose. Probably they're only waiting for fees to go down.

Do you think Amazon will accept bitcoin (in this year or next future )?
it's possible, but not just accept Bitcoin as payment in their online store, Altcoin also like Ethereum and Litecoin, my prediction , they will make their own Tokens or coins.

Any proof of this claim? Without proof its just fake news and nothing more than that. I have heard rumors of amazon accepting bitcoin like this thread has often popped but most of it is false claims and not real.

As far as I know Amazon and related e-commerce sites will never be accepting bitcoins as payment. Its as simple as that. Crypto becoming mainstream is pretty longshot and even though it seems possible its still a big question mark.

Yes, I don’t know how these false rumors keep spreading, especially now that we have a big problem with speed of transactions and fees. It is highly unlikely, more than ever, that any major merchant is going to accept bitcoin as a means of payment until those problems are solved.

This rumor doesn't have any update on what they are really planning to do with bitcoin, they'll adopt or not. However this is a rumor right so we can't tell if this is about to happen or this will remain forever rumor. But I want them to see accepting bitcoin since there are many of their customers that are engaged in bitcoin now, I don't have any estimation but for sure many of them are into it already.

I think Amazon will support crypto of some kind in 2018.  Only makes sense. They want to make it easy as possible to buy from them.  They see huge increase in crypto market cap.  Also would not be surprised if they launch their own coin.  Bezos wants it all.  :D
There is no actual relation between increase in the crypto currencies market capitalism and amazon accepting it because of that. Popularity of the crypto currency is another part, investors making investment into it is also another part. Amazon is online shopping centre which is meant for easiness of the customers. Most of the people don't know what crypto currency are and how they really work. I mean how many people earn the bitcoin online? And then they go for shopping? I think the number is not much, so most of the people will need to buy the crypto currencies before they can go for shopping with crypto currency. This will make the whole process very difficult. I mean the fees and transactions are not making sense currently. So its still far from accepting the crypto currencies really.

Well, I think Amazon will start accepting bitcoin by the end of this year 2018.
Amazon recently bought few new domains with cryptocurrency suffixes and prefixes.
So, that is a good sign that Amazon is planning something new maybe big for bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

May be Amazon start accepting bitcoin by the end of this year and the bitcoin users may find it beneficial as they will get to shop online through Amazon also without any much difficulty. It may happen that at start amazon may face some issues which may create hurdles in online shopping or the bitcoin users may not prefer it much better.
But bitcoin will soon be accepted by each and every online sites like Amazon and other shopping sites.

If Mircrosoft and paypal accepted bitcoin, why not for Amazon, this could be the perfect mode of payment from their consumers,  with no hassles and delays.

Amazon is responsible for far more sales volume than Microsoft will ever be capable of, and that's something people tend to ignore here. Bitcoin at this point isn't ready for such a large player, which could be the main reason why Amazon is holding off -- in order to take take away Bitcoin's limitations we need lightning network. If after lightning implementation Amazon still isn't accepting Bitcoin, then they just aren't interested. Realistically speaking, Amazon doesn't need Bitcoin or crypto to gain popularity and grow -- they have managed to grow significantly in the last few years to where they stand right now. Also, PayPal itself isn't accepting Bitcoin....

amazon will attract more customer to visit and shop to their sites because the amazon has another option for payment gateway so their new customer could try to use bitcoin to pay. after amazon accepted bitcoin, then I am sure that the bigger shop online will follow the amazon way and this will make bitcoin become grow bigger and the customer could have another payment option. and after all bigger shop online uses bitcoin then maybe we can see that there will be another bitcoin debit card for the other option for payment.

I don't think that amazon will accept crypto currencies in the near future. Why would they?
Amazon is the biggest online shop. And the owners of crypto currencies are quite familiar when it comes to online businesses, otherwise they would not capable to handle crypto currencies.
That brings for amazon the question what advantage introducing crypto payments would bring. Everyone who is into crypto currencies will already have an account at amazon.
So I am thinking that offering a crypto currency as a payment method will bring more administrative efforts for amazon, but no real progress.

This idea is still on a debate topic if amazon will accept cryptocurrency as a mode of payment of customer because we all know that all cryptocurrency contains a volatility and prices may vary in parallel to demands, they are studying if they will really profit from it or will lose in the future. I'm looking forward for this idea and if ever it will happen other online store will follow like ebay , lazada etc.

Exactly.  It is not because crypto currencies have the word "currencies" in their name, that they ARE currencies.  They are no more currencies, than the Deutsche Democratische Republik (former Eastern Germany) was democratic.  Crypto "currencies" are speculative assets.  You don't pay on Amazon with Apple options either.
