Hello,

Could you provide us with transaction IDs of those transactions? The exchange should list them under account history, withdraws or something similar

Look, the answer here depends on the technical side of the service you did use.
If the system GENERATES NEW wallet for every transaction, and after is not used anymore, it may not show up in their system (If it's made that way, which is not smart).

Did you just send the BTC to the same wallet? Or you used website to make a new exchange, and website gave you the same address again?

No, it has nothing to do with the size of your transaction. Both of your transfer amounts were in the exact same bitcoin transaction, so they both confirmed at the same time. The issue is with the receiving Exchange system.

It is quite possible that their system uses "one time" deposit addresses... so after one deposit is received, the deposit address for your account will change. Likely, the system detected the 0.303 amount, credited that to your account and then changed your deposit address. Then it found the 0.1 amount but did not know where to credit this as the deposit address for your account is now something else.

No doubt that this likely occurs a LOT, so I would guess that what has happened, is that they probably have a team that go through "unassigned" deposits... get the address and then find the account that matches this "old" deposit address and then credit that account with the funds. This would be a slow and manual job, which would explain why it took so long...

It also wouldn't surprise me that after telling you they didn't get the funds, the receiving exchange actually went looking for it and found it and credited your account :P

Yeah, this must be a somewhat outdated exchange too, since most have already "upgraded" to allow deposits to old addresses. In fact, even those that warn users not to deposit to old addresses still should credit accidents since it's just a simple lookup.

What else is curious for me to know:
1. Maybe OP can clarify, is there a reason you chose to make 2 separate withdrawals to the same address? Not that it matters when depositing to Exchange B since input size won't matter when you withdraw from them.
2. The funds are still unspent! I don't know any exchange that doesn't immediately drain out the deposit addresses of customers, so I'm now very curious to know this exchange. In fact, all 4 txs to that address are still unspent!

I don't quite understand what is going on here exactly
you are saying BTC but the log is XBT, is that same thing?
you said 0.403 BTC in two transactions but the tx shows 1 tx for full 0.403 BTC
how come 2 withdrawal processed separately (based on log, 2 mins gap)
was done in 1 transaction but received partially? (you said 0.303 received within 2 hours)
how come the receiver confirmed 0.303 while the tx on the blockchain clearly show 0.403

OP needs to explain again exactly the situation chronologically
did you fill out a form of something on the receiver side (exch B)?
it might be that B expecting deposit of 0.303 but you deposited 0.403
and B recognized the deposit of 0.403 as 0.303 that you initially promised to deposit
most likely the error on receiver side not recognizing the actual amount of deposit

thanks a lot for reply guys..
i have read articles about 'unspent' thing, , but i am still clearly not sure what it means :)

the receiver exchange is 'paribu', based in istanbul...

all it happened just as i explained .. i did 2 withdrawal request with 2 mins gap.. i had no specific intention to do so.. small one arrived 15 hours later..
i know it shows 1 package of 0.403, but actually it is not, its 2 partition transfer...

and about changing receiver addresses.... no Exchange B wallet address i use is, same for 2 months, i do not change it, and the exchange does not (at least that what i saw ? maybe they use something dynamic at background, but that is totally unknown/unnoticed from my side )

;D i felt safe when guru people like you replied.

just look at this link, here you can see 2 fragments of 0.403..
it is really tricky...

Ah I see, I understand now.
standard view on bc.info auto grouped the same address, but on blocktrail it shows as 2 outputs
with advanced view on bc.info I can see it as 2 outputs too
that's why I missed it when HCP said both were in the same transaction

you have to contact the receiver ('paribu') and ask them to manually check the tx deposit
tell them explicitly that the sender sent 0.403 (0.303 & 0.1) in a single transaction but two outputs
I strongly believe their system only check for 1 output per address per transaction, hence missed the 0.1

Yes, same thing. Some companies use XBT to denote Bitcoin, pending an actual ISO standard. Some people see it as more "corporate" as it was first used by the likes of Bloomberg and services showing forex rates. BTC is more common with the crypto community.

Also, OP says the issue is resolved in above updates. My curiosity remains about the exchange address he used... OP made 4 deposits to it and all of them are still unspent. OP: This is not common with exchanges I know of... does you account balance show the exact same amount of coins as it does on explorer? That is, 2.5785 BTC?

Depending on the exchange you are using it is probably just the cut that the exchange takes. This is how they make money. They take part of every exchange. That seems like a high percentage though. If you move to Bitfinex you will get better exchange rates.
