Title: Bitcoin Gold Mining [Miners and suggestions]
Post by: SunStruck on November 12, 2017, 10:05:11 AM
Since it soon starts maybe it would be good if we can gather all current informations and up to date miners here.

Quote
Hello miners and users!

We’re thrilled to announce a start date to the community:
November 12, 2017 – 7:00 PM (19:00 UTC)

At this point, we will provide the Bitcoin Gold full node client download on our website. The BTG blockchain will officially be live, with blocks mined openly by users and pools from all around the world.

Wallets and exchanges will be able to process deposits, withdrawals and trades (as soon as they are ready). This is the culmination of months of hard work, which have led to many changes and improvements, including:

So far the best miners seem to be (from my tests):

NVIDIA:
EWBF's CUDA Zcash Miner
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1707546.0
dstm's ZCash Cuda miner
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2021765.0

AMD:
Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1670733.0

Feel free to post here any other opinions and links to better miners.

Very unlikely. Mine only if you plan to hold long term.

Has anyone set up mining pools for BTG yet? I'd like to maybe start mining BTG while the difficulty is still low.

Another altcoin derived from bitcoin that might be worth looking for. Who knows, the fate of this might be like Bitcoin Cash...

Early adoption is and always will be a good recipe for success.

6 hours left at the time of this writing. The first few hours of bitcoin gold mainnet launch will be profitable for mining because still very few have migrated their huge mining farms to bitcoin gold. Once the majority of miners get word that mining BTG is profitable they will migrate and cause the difficulty to rise.

Is it really going to be profitable?

In my opinion it is going to be most profitable, but of course nobody can know for sure. I think first hours will tell us a lot deal about it, so today we should know something about it.

This coin was created for GPU miners, so, when ETH change to Pos algo,  all miners will mine bitcoin gold or Zcash, i will start mine BTG today and for several monthes, than sold this near 1k$.

There are pools with testnets running , you can test it beforehand and set everything up.

Examples:

https://btg.suprnova.cc

These are one of the best miners for equihash mining and I'm going to use them. Good luck!

You already have 2.3 Msols on suprnova Testnet  :o
When mainnet is launched, suprnova will switch to mainnet with same stratum & port

Yes, you can. If you can mine zcash, zen, zcl, btcz, komodo or any other equihash algo coin you can mine BTG also using, for example, Claymore's Zcash miner.

I used to mine bitcoins is through nicehash. If they have not opened this possibility for me is an indication that more is not profitable to produce these coins. It seems to me that set mining is the most useless thing. You only spend time on useless testing. It is better to wait some time to get familiar coins for you.

you can do that if you want but i wouldn't because if you tested it on test net etc and it goes live you may miss the boost at first and lose cash but that's up to you ...everything tested good the way it looks .... @ 300 bucks a coin more or less they will be fast to mine at first up to you ...

wallets.

recheck

they now use a BTG Address as the pay out not a user name, some thing about issues on test net ....
 the site is faster, works better it looks like doing it that way :) ......

Keep track of Nicehash-Equihash current profitability on WhatToMine.com. Lots of noobs renting hash to mine this shit coin and in a few hours, you will wish you had that profitability.

yes I'm mining to one one address right now on test net so once it goes live in about a hour you may have to reboot then restart the miners if your on test net or it may go down, all pools and ports should stay the same as they are now on test net  an go to... Main net/live..that way..all but the test coins, they did say we won't notice the change, some place on line, if it works that well, remains to be seen, i do expect a few reboots over time which may not be needed but i expect it,that's me...

https://testnet.btgmine.org/workers/GcdVZPCXcU5StEijcjLD1TpZGjK1w91hMG

I'm still building two of those rigs just showing I'm mining to one Address...

PS there stratum server and all stratum server as far as I know let you use one Address to mine to ....what coin doesn't matter with stratum servers.

Suppose difficulty will be quite hard at start , but that wont stop people from renting hashpower from nh thus resulting in higher pay.

Guess I join later for direct btg :D

P.S. interesting that most pools are down at the same time (even frontend)

I knew they would all go down at once, there was no way they could change it all over with all the pools still up without rebooting the network or some kind of issue ,the question now is how long till they let us mine .....live if all the address's, pools and exchanges or the BTG network in General is ready as they claimed ....time will tell , i hope not long.

I think everyone expects better these days.  If you are going to go live with something then you better be prepared to bring it otherwise people are not going to be satisfied.

This is very disappointing.

This isnt' 2012.  This is 2017 and the era of high speed data centers with 40GB minimum data uplinks.  Should be a matter of minutes and really should be ready at the appointed time which was now over 30 minutes ago.  What a joke...

Sure, it's going to take some time but the mining pools could have coordinated and communicated better too.  Sure, takes time to sync up with 160GB but if you are running a pool then say that or say we expect to be live by whatever time you think it will be.

Notice your site says "Attention! Pool is currently syncing to the BTG chain and will be up shortly!
Blockchain Height should be 499407 to start mining. Current value: 492896"

Is this due to their pre-mining?

This is my thought as well.

I just lost some more respect for the BTG developers, as it wasn't enough for them to pre-mine, but now since they are the only ones with a currently synced blockchain I am sure they are taking advantage to insta-mine as many more blocks as they can for personal gain. Pretty crappy way to set the tone for a launch.

it's suppose to work like this

BTG official network will start after Nov 12 2017, 7 PM UTC. The current mining ports and accounts will be automatically transferred from testnet to main net mining.

so no you don't change a thing according to that .... the only thing you may need to change is the payout address, or wallet address which i would any way an make a new one and if your using the Address posted on there site for testnet for sure change it to a new one, you have full control over. make sure that address starts with the letter G, i saw posted some place else that warning use a BTG Address which will start with the letter g

$BTG Pool will go live in about 3-5h. This time is needed as the Devs are currently mining their premine (via the dev pool :)) You can mine already but it would be wasted hash as you'd just contribute to the premine and not get paid yourself until premining has ended

From what I've read, premining is going on at pool.gold and if you are mining there well you won't get anything for it all as it just goes to developers. When they are finished at 1-1:30AM UTC, they will open it up for everyone else. https://pool-gold.slack.com/messages/C7L8HMSQP/  If you want to follow the premine and see how much time until 499407 is reached then height is shown at http://btg.altpool.pro

Bitcoin gold is not in Kraken, not in Bittrex, not in Poloniex ?

What is the problem ?
Very surprising : is it a such minor coin for these exchanges ?

if no one saw this yet i haven't checked the blocks yet an I'm mining on btgmine.org right now , haven't checked stats yet.

Mainnet launched
Public mining will be available at block height 499407

so that's 5290 btc blocks to go a few hours a way .  i hope then it starts an no more excuses.

so your mining for them if you mine BTG right now, that's your call, I'm going back to ETH and ZEC till then ...I'm sure they all ready made a few mill profit, no one ever really tells the truth when it comes to money if they say other wise, so me adding to there pot doesn't seem fair to anyone we get nothing in return at this point, SO it's point less till it's live for to the Public but that's me .....

Yeah the issue is that nobody knows what block it is currently. The pools seem stuck on one block for some time now.

Thanks, Man, I'm watching that now , i  will say this in all honestly, i haven't call it a scam yet because there is to many exchanges and servers/pools involved that want to see it happen and make it work an it just might happen, there appears to be a lot of hard work that went into this just so mining can be returned back to the People it belongs to but some of the stuff they have done so far is a little questionable but nothing really really bad yet , time will tell ...

I hope that pools will prioritize already connected miners, maybe even those which were connected longer than, say, 30min.
After all, these machines basically worked to mine those 8K blocks for the developers.
In my opinion, it would be reasonable, at least in the first few hours.
I don't think that they used their own machines, probably piggybacked on the early birds.

That crypto-news counter appears to be counting the BTC block number, not BTG. You can even see it in their source code API call.

Code:
   refreshData = function()
   {
       jQuery.get("https://api.crypto-games.net/v1/ForkTime/BTC/491407", function(data) {
            jQuery("#timeOfFork").html(data);
       });
       jQuery.get("https://api.crypto-games.net/v1/CurrentBlock/BTC", function(data) {
            jQuery("#currentBlock").html(data);
       });
    }
    setInterval(function () {
        refreshData();
    }, 60000);
    refreshData();

not sure what you mean

How do I get "address.worker" on Minertopia?

do you mean how do you see the stats ?

This page should explain it all

https://btg.minertopia.org/getting_started

check your worker stats here with your newly made BTG address ...

https://btg.minertopia.org/workers

set your common line for Minertopia something like this .

Claymore Dual Miner

ZecMiner64.exe -zpool btg.minertopia.org:5555 -zwal YourUsername.YourWorker -zpsw YourWorkerPass -allpools 1

EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner

miner.exe --server btg.minertopia.org --user address.worker --pass x --port 5555  --cuda_devices 0 1 2 3

I'm don't know which soft ware miner your gonna use i usually only use

Claymore for my Amd Cards an EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner for my NV Cards.

you can't register there you have to use a BTG wallet Address in a bat file some thing like this
for EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner call it lets say

Code:
minertopia.bat

Code:
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 1
miner.exe --server btg.minertopia.org --user  your BTG wallet address goes here.after the dot name the worker what ever to want to see it by on the pool --pass Password can be anything  --port 5555  --cuda_devices 0 1 2 3

for clay more
Code:
minertopia.bat

Code:
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 1
ZecMiner64.exe -zpool btg.minertopia.org:5555 -zwal your BTG wallet address goes here.after the dot name the worker what ever to want to see it by on the pool  -zpsw Password can be anything -allpools 1

run those from the software miners folder or make a short cut in the folder rename it to what you like an then right click the bat file shortcut and send it to desktop ..

I use Awesome miner for faster setup it was worth what I paid for it to me .

like the bitcoin core wallet.

and it doesn't share the block chain like BCH does, if you like downloading the full node BC ... so you can run on it on the same PC as your BTC wallet, I'm downloading the full node to my PC .

It will stack up in your suprnova "wallet" until you enter your personal wallet address and request the payout.

Have not set up wallet yet, will store on suprnova till I can find a wallet I trust

I am also mining on supernova, although one question, how do we get paid once we have a bitcoin gold wallet?

It will stack up in your suprnova "wallet" until you enter your personal wallet address and request the payout.

thx,
I entered a coinomi address but then on twitter they said this:
"The Bitcoin Gold team is currently having difficulties bootstrapping the $BTG blockchain. Once these issues are resolved, #BitcoinGold  will become available to all #Coinomi users who will then be able to store, send, receive and trade their BTG without any further action."

So I set the automatic payment threshold to 0 on supernova for manual payout so no payment will be sent out until I find a decent wallet to use.

This BTG is just a big joke

I mean, a scam you try to hide it... but this! this is to much!!
If you don't take part in it, it really is funny!

I enjoyed the SIGT drama, but this one is killing it.
stolen testnet hash, official website down for days, premine scam after launch,
and now the split chain!!

Come on! What's next I wanna know!!!

Right now on suprnova I have a ROI 3.5 time better than zec.
But, by the time it's confirmed and we can dump it on an exchange, this shit will probably fall down under 100 sat... or there could be other split chains...

For 300sol,  How long does it take for 1 btg?

About 3 years now at 14 hours after 'launch', first few hours it was about 6 months, right now the difficulty is rising 1Million every hour

Experts all along said this would last no more than two days, I suspect barely a day, once difficulty hits 10Million, then your not paying for electricity, even now rigs may not be paying for themselves at 3M, I was mining a rig a few hours ago ( 1070-6 ) rig does about 3,000 sols/sec, btg.suprnova.cc was reporting 0.5 BTG per day, that's 10X what you have and that was hours ago

300 sols is a 1060 class card, that right now will earn you about one USD/day mining for Zencash, or Zcash. I think only the first few hours today mining BTG was profitable

Solo was good the first hour, but u had to be there, u had to be ready, ... too many variables,

the ONLY ppl who will make bank on BTG is the dev's who pre-mined 8,000 blocks ( $50 million USD ) at 1900 UTC (yesterday)

The joke about BTG was that it was going to make MINING equitable again, yep right, there have been 100M sol's/sec for three weeks on the testnet pools, where the fuck did that come from??

Did Jack Liao secretly just open up GPU-ASIC mining farms??

Tomorrow I will return to mining Zen-Cash, and making $20/day per rig.

**

People with 1,000's of cards had their engines running on this race 3+ weeks ago, the little guy with one card, never had a chance to get a nickel, the launch of most of the pools was 4+ hours later than SW release, then we had to 'wait' for the pre-mine, that was 10 hours ago, there was a pretty good 2-3 hours,

I would say its already ALL OVER

Not sure where it all go.

1.) MY theory for the past 3 weeks was that all these faux pools were redirecting the hash all along to zcoins, thats where it went

2.) We learned that most of these pools were not even using the right block-chain, that they started off wrong, and were using the wrong seeds, so most of the chains had to be destroyed, its said that ONLY suprnova.cc built a correct chain

Got to love it all evidence of the crime got deleted, whoops dog ate BTG

Yup, long live scammy cryptos.
This launch reminded me of the fail-circus of 2014. Most of the shitcoin launches were like that. Some because they were scams, some because devs just didn't know better.

In late 2017, if something like this happens, it's most definitely on purpose.

Hey toptek, thank you for all the help you provide here. I made a BTG wallet from the links you provided it's been really helpful.

Can anyone who mines share what is the profitability for a 1070? What a 450 sol/s make a day?
I tried to mine some, but most of the pool does not work for me.

I did say expect lame shit like this to happen and what's really  bad some one else in another post said if you mind on there main pool they wiped the stats what a  piss job this is turning into ...I mined on MinerTopia  an have a balance still showing before it crashed an now .. i hope when it comes back up i still do it seemed to be the most stable pool out of all of them till the Crash .... I was mining pretty good . then i switched to pool.gold and Bitcoin Gold Mining Pool both got wiped of any mining i did it seems an they were on the right chain ... again i hope my balance is still showing on MinerTopia when it re syncs and comes back up . i think i would all most  have mined two full coins or close by now if there was no crash and shit was still running ...  as for who's fault is it Nova or BTG i say both for not working to gather better .....Sense Nova IS one of the big GPU farms they should  have been working to gather  to prevent this shit from happening and they could have .

BTG is not listed on any exchange, so it's still early to talk about profitability.

Suprnova

We cannot dump them, so hard to tell now.
The first 3 hours of mining I had 3.5 time more than zcash, but now it's getting very slow.
Plus, BTG price is falling.

Right now, according to coinmarketcap, I have 14 USD for 13 hours of mining with 7x 1070 (3300 sols)

yeah something just happppen with my Miner im in the SuprNova pool
and it was getting alot of lag MS then just fell off and went to there
web page and nothing thats only if you try and get threw there BTG pool page
but if you try Zcash Zec Dec ect... page its working i don't get it

Nova on their Twitter page said that btg told them their pool is on wrong chain so all mining work was useless.
 https://twitter.com/SuprnovaPools/status/929958628584493056

Ouch ... Dem feels  :P

Don't believe the lies, that person is full of s*it
Is there someone who's mining on pool.gold?

I mined last night with all my rigs.
There is no transaction and no balance right now.
pool.gold is scam and theif. They stole my 0.8~ BTG.

Dont use them.

I am was mining with them and gues what? Nothing. I did not received a bit of btg...

They're paying everyone back - Check their twitter.

I did check the twitter, but the proof is in the pudding.

They supposedly moved to the right blockchain hours ago, but BALANCE and PAID on their website STILL show zero.   Even if they were going to reimburse for the time spent on the wrong chain, their site should be showing pending balances now.

Off topic, but has anybody been able to claim their coins, after the snapshot? I am wondering when the coins will be available. Since the wallets are not available yet, how are pools able to mine it?

You can acces your fork-time Gold in Coinomi wallet, but not yet trade them.

Here you can find a calculator: http://calc.btgpool.pro/

I put some of mine rigs, it looks about right. At this moment it looks around the same as ETH (profitability), which doesn't look promising since once exchanges open and dumps begin price might fall pretty fast.

Party is over
Now I'm down to something between 20 - 40cts for 1h30, so that's it... I'm out. Going back to ZEC

Okay, thank for info. So i won't be change Zec for BTG as profit so slow now. Maybe will be better to buy some BTG coins when it will listed on Bittrex and dumped.
