Title: Bitcoin will die?
Post by: SynAck on November 12, 2017, 06:09:52 PM
Hello,

Looking at graphs from fork.lol (https://fork.lol/pow/hashrate) website, Bitcoin cash hashrate just doubled vs the Bitcoin core. It is currently at over 65% of total hashrate and growing...
This is very concerning because it will be very hard or even impossible to confirm transactions if this keeps going at this rate and more miners will switch to Bitcoin cash.
You might say that there will be 400% difficulty increase in BCH and all miners will switch back, but keep in mind there will be a fork tomorrow to fix just that.

So... I start wondering if this will be the end of bitcoin as we know it?

A big and dirty game is going on by the sharks and we are just trying to guess what may be the reason. But we don't have any clue. With the recent price increase of BCH, I expected that many miners will move to mining BCH as the difficulty is low compared to bitcoin and the price is also skyrocketing. So many people get to earn some good amount of money till the time difficulty is manageable. However, I don't think bitcoin will die in any way. It is just having some difficult time and we all have to survive it together. The current bitcoin price looks tempting to me for buying more but I just want to wait and watch for some more time to properly understand the trend.

We used to call them whales, but they're the sharks now. They take huge risks and they will be rich at the end. We only watch the market. To me, it's not a permanent thing. They do this to make their BCH argument much stronger. That's all for this week's action.

The price is tempting indeed, but all I have read on forums and news its not giving me any hopes at all.
I wonder what will happen when over 90% of the hashrate will be into BCH...
I think today will be maked in history as the beginning of the end, *I hope I am wrong*.

Well I will give you a clue, Chinese! This is a big and dirty game, you are right about that! What they doing is moving the money and hash power from bitcoin to bitcoin cash, now that slows down transactions making them more expensive and that is a long term trouble if mining power continue to fall down.
https://www.coindesk.com/confusion-euphoria-bitcoin-cash-30-billion-2000/amp/
Look at the names in this article, Chinese are creators of this and they are making huge attack on bitcoin, they did awesome move with joining miners and companies and they are very serious in pushing this trough. What can we do, what is smart to do? I really don't know.

Put simply, bitcoin can't die. Perhaps speculators are no longer seeing potential in a further price rise for now, and hence profit taking has started applying selling pressure. However, bitcoin doesn't cease to be a useful utility with quite a bit of demand from real users backing it up. Even if the price falls a great deal that doesn't mean that bitcoin would die.

Bitcoin life is as long there is someone to mine it and include transactions in mined blocks for confirmation.
If 90%+ of miners move to another coin like BCH in this case, I see only cloudy days even maybe end of it *hopefully not*.

We have now 177k unconfirmed transactions and growing by the minute...

Miners move to where it is profitable. BTC will be more profitable for them again at some point, so they will abandon BCH. This is a temporary thing, do not worry about it.

BTC is back on top btw. BCH was artificially pumped and was therefore doomed to fail.

the dying of bitcoin will not draw in my mind. if you see the history of it everytime its fluctuating and every time the price is dropping low many of them were panic and they used it to sell. but others regret it . bitcoin have many problem was encountered and its always survive. as of now the bitcoin is number one among all the cryptos taht was really have an expensive value and its have faster transaction so i dont think that bitoinc will die and i hope that someday bitcoin was a mainstream

Supply and demand are gold for trade, but what will be the demand for less? Bitcoin was so strong against the manipulations that his confidence was shaken by the manipulations.

You can consider that you have the answer to your worries as in fact, the fork didn't happen.

Still, you can claim that further fork may happen in the future.

But actually, this is the way btc is. Constantly changing, evolving, offering new "forms" of itself...

I think that we are still far from using all the technical appliances possible to mine btc. Just leave it some time to get started and further forks shall not worry you!  ;)

I think you are wrong for that, Bitcoin will never die, because if you experience something like this with Bitcoin do not worry, because this is only temporary and just an investor game, so in my opinion bitcoin will show the highest point in December or January. . 2018, so let's see how Bitcoin works for the future.

My position stays the same at this point - bitcoin will not die, everything is going to it's mass adoption and acceptance, so there are no talks about it's death. Yes, the price is dropping, but all of hat is just a speculators games, don't be hooked on it and don't panic ;) 10000$ per BTC by the end of the year!

There were over $700 million transactions stuck for hours on bitcoin network waiting to be processed as a result of that, but don't worry everything will be over soon.

of course not. The price of bitcoin mostly as of now depends on the law of supply and demand and we can all say that bitcoin is the most used cryptocurrency as of today and that alone is enough to make it stable for a very long time.

Seriously? is there a fork coming our way? But well, this is beginning to become a dirty game now, which I won't be surprised at all because the greedy players are getting inside every noob's head. Honestly, if the community won't sell BTC, everything is under our control.

The cryptocurrency market has no rules restricting the freedom of speculators. This leads to the fact that they can easily undermine the situation. The demand is only affected for a long period. Immediate price fluctuations do not depend on demand. The volatility of cryptocurrencies will always be. For such conditions we need to adapt then it will not interfere.

There were several controversial statements prevailing around the community based on the growth happening between bitcoin as well bitcoin cash. This is all because of the miners support gain as well the growth which is to take place according to the systematic development. Nothing to fear about the same. Maybe to reach $10000 it might take time, but the price surely increases.

I am worried it’s dying already.

The network status, I mean confirmation time, if no confirmation means no BTC.

What can you do with a BTC in your wallet if you can’t send it?

Anybody did a transaction recently and got a confirmation?

I think it's only temporary for some miners to switch to BCH, and as the population increases, the difficulty increases immediately, and you can see the change today. I have to say, these two days of crazy BCH do have the cause of the miners, but I think there are also reasons for big capital operation.

Bitcoin will not die because it has even when its dropping hard a lot of support. People don't want to see that bitcoin is going to drop to zero. Even when its dropping now some people are buying it.

I thought of buying but its still too expensive my friends are also thinking about it.

So maybe we can could assumed that it maybe a coordinated attack by Bitcoin cash people. Yes, Jihan and company really play it very well, networks  get clogged, segwit2x cancellation, bitcoin cash suddenly pump, fud here and there.  But as look at today prices, it looks like bitcoin didn't get any significant dent. Well initially it has, but it keeps getting higher as well and bitcoin cash dropping. So I don't think that bitcoin will die with this attacks from bitcoin cash. It will continue to live more and has a bright future ahead.

You must really be a Newbie in the crypto market to ask such a question. This shit happens here. The big players play their pump and dump games to grab others' money and fill their pockets. That is why it is best to stay away from such trades and hold your coins. This time the game was big and many big whales were included to make such a huge pump. People obviously would have lost their money and the wise ones would have exited the market with profits. This does not mean that Bitcoin will die. Bitcoin had passes many such waves and think of it as just a correction that took place. :P ;D ;D It will soon recover the price.

This is one of those challenges that will pass and at the end, we will realize that its just another way to keep the community busy and have something to talk about. If you are very observant there are always phases of discussion. Before the cancellation/suspension of SegWit's activation, the discussion was centred around SegWit and its effect on bitcoin, advantages and disadvantages but since that has been defeated which makes discussion around it not worthwhile, the next is to have some discussion like this throwing up.

No! I can say that this is the plan of bitcoin if some people invest in bitcoin cash they will buy bitcoin if the bitcoin goes down and if the bitcoin cash go down again they will buy again bitcoin cash this is a logic.
There maybe some people trying to manipulate and grabbing the hash power from bitcoin to bitcoin cash just to destroy bitcoin, even making so many unconfirmed transactions spam.
But now you see, that price of BCH getting down again, it seems that bitcoin win again this time, the transactions queue also reduced slowly, just matter of time until diff adjustment.

well i would like to say we are not that sure if that is only a manipulated scheme or what, and besides there is no evidence we can see that they steal the hash. So there is no assurance that they really have it or what and we cannot judge it immediately just because the price of BCH goes down.

The price or even the charts are always changing so, we did not know when or it was dying. But, I guess NO, Bitcoin is growing and getting more important. It's not just bitcoin. The issue is that the global banking and payments system is fundamentally broken.  Bitcoin is merely one part of general set of financial technologies that will reshape the banking system.

People focus so much on what the price of bitcoin is that they don't look at *how* bitcoin is traded.  Bitcoin is quite interesting because it is the first asset whose trading/exchange infrastructure was created from a clean sheet, and so you have things like 24/7 trading, multiple exchanges, and direct trading with counterparties, that are going to eventually be used to trade everything else.

People always worried about bitcoin going to die soon without even realizing that this is the nature of bitcoin ever since its unpredictable and always fluctuating but it will not die this is just part of its market. Instead of worrying better take this as an opportunity to invest and maybe after few months you will be surprise by the earnings you can get.

I can't see any reason that bitcoin will die, due to its price that keeps on rising, bitcoins have just started in some places and to some it is not been being introduced,it has a long years to go,those were just speculations but bitcoin already made a history that it is worth keeping by investing,HODL your bitcoin if you have because there still a good reason why you must keep it..and its very beneficial for all of us. As time goes by.

Bitcoin will die eventually but it is not a possible event now. Bitcoin may die in the future but it will never die today because it is so in demand by a lots of people. This crypto currency will never die unless the demand falls to zero. That is one of the possible event that might occur. Another is if the internet in the whole wide world will be cut off and we are not unable to connect to our internet connection. We all now that this is not possible but not impossible. We should enjoy using the bitcoin now and keep benefiting from it

One day Bitcoin will die but it will be no big crash but a long way down the road. But before that process which can take several decades, initializes we need a good replacement and I doubt that Bitcoin cash is a good replacement despite its 8MB block size and low transaction fees.

This is very laughable statement as i heard and read many times that the bitcoin will die soon. Based on the record of bitcoin obituaries from 99bitcoins.com, bitcoin had died 187 times and this will be latest record and be counted as 1. Bitcoin die and then resurrect because bitcoin is immortal, only sharks, whales and pool miners are gonna die soon. The greedy Chinese businessmen and their government trying to kill bitcoin in their own territory because they want BCH to dominate but mind you guys it will never gonna be happen.

i think we have read this statement way too many times already, can BTC itself die? yes of course it can, but the technology behind (decentralisation, blockchain and all the services around it) will never die.
BTC started small but caused a snowball, the world has evolved and changed his shape with BTC, blockchain will be used in many different way in the future, not just for crypto.
We also read about banning all the crypto in x countries now and in the future, if this will get big, for sure somebody will find a different way to use the blockchain to start something different but related to this project.
BTC can die but not this project, forget about it, people will keep support it even if it shift in something different than today.

I don't think so that bitcoin will die because there is no chance of dying bitcoin the reason behind it is that the users of bitcoin is increasing with time due to the good performance of bitcoin due to which more and more are taking interest in bitcoin so in future it is more expected that the rate of bitcoin will be more increased and due to which more and more people will taking interest and the life of bitcoin will be increasing.

Btc will not die.  Only fake news is making it die. Just so they can buy cheaper btc as usual. All they want is to pump bch. So for me dont worry as majority of the people are sticking with btc. Bch may rise in the future but btc won't die

It will only die if there is no more electricity and no internet connection.  But as to its life just like what you said, it will grow because everyday there were many people who involved themselves on bitcoin.  It is because of the continuous growth of its value and that many invest in it.  It has been tested and proven to give income to many people.

I guess now the graph says different thing in todays date. Those people who went panic while BCH was growing now might be crying to death as they had worst decision to invest into bitcoin cash. The bitcoin cash is almost dead now and it will take triple the money this time to gain that much market capitalism which it has yesterday and day before that. This is what happen when someone fiddle with the bitcoin economy and try to be heroic about it. Lol. I had complete faith in the bitcoin and I did not sell a penny worth satoshi from my holdings. So I am in the full green profit zone and once agin the bitcoin has increased its value for crypto community. Keep it up bitcoin!

More and more people are investing in bitcoin right now. So it will not die in next months for sure. But the thing that will curb the btc expansion is the scalability.
It is very difficult to imagine what the bitcoin will be in few years, decades but it can have a major role in world finance.

I don't think bitcoin is going anywhere . Bitcoin is certainly not dying . Even though many miners tended to go towards bitcoin cash , but i heard they are moving theri focus towards bitcoin again as the price drop is not happening for bitcoin . Whereas bitcoin cash is already loosing its value every day , I checked that bitcoin cash is down by -19.56% today approximately equal to $1.05k  . Bitcoin on the other hand has already regained its previous all time value of $7.5k.

Just leave it some time to get started and further forks shall not worry you!  ;)
I'm very agree with you sir, every time bitcoin still change

of course not. The price of bitcoin mostly as of now depends on the law of supply and demand and we can all say that bitcoin is the most used cryptocurrency as of today and that alone is enough to make it stable for a very long time.
No I don’t think so that bitcoin will die because today I check the price of bitcoin and its price is very high and day by day countries are going to accept bitcoin because world need bitcoin and the demand of bitcoin is going very high and I’m sure that end of the year bitcoin price will be more high so we need bitcoin and it will be survive for ever.

Bitcoin is one of the booming companies in electronic banking industry. From their hard work, dedication, good management, financially stable and strong foundation it brings them in a bigger picture. All efforts that are made everyone to contribute for the success of the company is essential, which brings them to number one spot. Through this I can conlude that bitcoin will not be obsolete in future and it going to play a big roles in the society in future. As long they can response in every problem that the company will face and be consistent on what they’re doing. Nothing can defeat them
