Title: Bitcoin or bitcoin, NOT BitCoin.
Post by: ktttn on June 24, 2013, 03:57:48 AM
Can we spread awareness about the unnacceptability this irksome faux-pas?
Is "BitCoin" even defendable as a spelling?
Is is just me or is this equalevent to TyPiNg LiKe ThIs?
Apparently Crayola or whateferhisface is from Cali does not know that the "c" in "coin" is lowercase.

What's your favorite example of the uppercase C in FUD and misinformation?

It's how you know who is clueless and who at least has a chance of knowing what they are talking about.

You can safely dismiss as worthless the opinions of anyone who writes "BitCoin" because the only way they can make that mistake is to not spend a lot of time in the Bitcoin community, so there are sure to be enormous gaps in their knowledge of which they are unaware.

Umadbro?
The Bitcoin foundation exists partially to standardize Bitcoin and prevent people from making the kind of blatant error the California C&D made.

How did you get my bitchCoin address? I had't planned a release for the bitchCoin fork until next week.

Also, If you can't be assed to come up with a lulzy example of some noob saying some dumb stuff about "BitCoin," GTFO.

Happened.
Cannot unsee.

I know someone's got some hilarious FUD that uses the uppercase C bookmarked up just for a thread like this.

I live here, it went full retard a long time ago.

I mean seriously, do you think a sane state would elect Arnold?

What about BITCOIN?
I'd vastly prefer literally any spelling or case, font, green glow, or whatever, as long as it isn't "BitCoin."

This reminds me of people flipping-out about all caps. Caps are easier to read. It makes sense to use all caps. It's not the user's fault if someone decided it means screaming. The old teletype machines did nothing but caps.

In this case, something called a name starting with "camel" can't be all bad: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CamelCase

To me it is just free speech. At least the spelling is mostly correct!  :-p

Often I kind of like these gimmicky capitalisations, but not for bitcoin.

The currency is bitcoin.
The protocol/system/network/software/concept is Bitcoin.

But that's just my perception and opinion, which counts for precious little by itself. However, plenty on this forum agree, which is good. :)

I just realized my username name uses it.  lol

For all the people not into alts, I may see their point. But it helps the name of the alts to standout for easier reading methinks.
