Spending more time in this forum. More comments and posts will give you more activity points which is decided of your rank.

Participate in discussions. Do so in a way that provides a constructive, positive contribution. And then participate regularly here. You don't get "rank credit" when you're not on the forum, posting. But if you post rubbish your rank won't be worth anything!

there is a lot about post rank in this btt. you just read and search for it, a lot of knowledge about rank. but learning is the most important

Increase your activity to promote your rank. at least 30 promote to next level ie Jr. Member

Just participate in any discussion in this forum and increase your post and activity .

As a newbie and a former newbie you maybe bothered as well   other give you links of different rank. Everyone can get promote their rank. If their activity fulfill the minimum requirement of the rank you want to be. Example if you are newbie and want to up one rank higher from your rank that is jr.member, you need to have minimum 30 activity in your account. Or the other example if you are jr member and want to up one rank higher that is member, you need to have minimum 60 activity in your account. So the question now is how we can increase our activity ? We can increase our activity by increasing the post we made. The post we made that is useful for other member and not just spamming. Hope this can help you.

you need to have 30 Activity to become Jr Member. 60 Activity for Member, 120 Activity for Full Membe; Sr. Member:   Activity: 240 ; Hero Member: Activity: 480
The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

asking questions, taking part in bounty tasks that require reporting your weekly activity, answering questions, being active on threads of projects you are following closely and so on and so forth. doing so will give you a number of avenues to increase your activity count hence rise the ladder faster. be part of the community soon you'll get the hang of it

does it take long in order to cross the threshold say from newbie to junior member? their is a disparity between posts and activities on my profile, what is the difference between the two? arent they the same thing?

its always better to help others, read various queries in related form & try to help other members. as your activities will increase your rank will automatically increase. From newbie to Jr. Member you need at least 30 activities.  8)
