The bitcoin price has broken $8,000 USD – yet another milestone. Now, the price could rise as high as $9,000 before the last round of profit taking occurs ahead of the big rally to $12,000 in early 2018.

It is a bit optimistic but if the price movement continues in the current manner, sure, why not? This is 4k$ rise which has been seen in the past 6 months already.

Yes, I have good feelings about it. The price instability of Bitcoin is normal and the price will fall from time to time but in general Bitcoin continues to grow. This is great. Let those who did not believe in Bitcoin be sorry.

$8000 is a cool price but i am waiting the price is increase more than $10,000 because when the price reach it, i can make a lot of money and i think i can sell some bitcoin make money. and now the price is reach more than $8k and i see the price is up and down too often and for me, i think its difficult to make prediction if i don't know anything with trading. if the price is really hit $12,000 in january then i think the price will be increase more without stopping.

well that 4k$ rise is about 50% rise, normally I would say that is not going to happen in only 2 months (until January) but I have a feeling that this CME new market news is going to be a big one in short term and can lead to that kind of big rise.


LOL, if an altcoin is getting dumped just because bitcoin is rising maybe it is time to think about another proper investment that is not just an speculative asset that is greatly affected by bitcoin price and how that moves!

Yes sir absolutely true. 6 month ago Bitcoin price was around the $2k-$3k but 6 month later this price is increased 3times. So it is really astonished and amazing. I think bitcoin price will $10000 till January 2018

12K is a bit high i think? but with how bitcoin is performing now, it is not that far off. If more investors join then we will see a major boost in the price it might be by the end of december but from time to time bitcoin will experience some resistance so that will put the price boost on hold but after that it is profit for us.

Just take a look at the last few months. In June the Bitcoin was around 3000$, a lot of people said it is the all-time-high. One month ago the Bitcoin reached the 7000$. A lot of people said, just wait for the fork coming up, after that the bitcoin will fall and the altcoins will raise.

Now the Bitcoin is around 8200$ so the possibility of reaching the 12.000$ is as near as it could be.

This makes it not certain but in fact more realistic as ever before.

This is Bitcointalk forum, give respect to Bitcoin, I feel sad that you don't like the progress of Bitcoin, Why?, Why it feels like that you are blaming Bitcoin?, We should not blame. Just like you, I hold altcoins too on my WAVES account and WAVES is now on it's low price. Same with the other altcoins, their prices is not increasing because no one buys that altcoin, It just become an option for pumping and dumping. I still believe on WAVES though and it's future development will surely bring WAVES to the top altcoins.

Just like what i said, Invest on that altcoin if you want make that altcoin breathe but investing,trading and supporting an altcoin is no joke. If you put a lot of money on a certain altcoin to pump it, other investors will use the opportunity to trade it to BTC, Blaming Bitcoin will not change anything. Bitcoin is the father of all coins, and you should be confident enough to your fave altcoin, if it deserves to get attention because of it's features and it's future plans and developments, then it will get the love,price and the support it deserves.

Its a really bright thought about bitcoin. I think 8k$ is a very good stand for this year. Just look at the unstable in price of bitcoin these days, I can feel that there really hard for bitcoin to move up in next 2 months. But, thats just my feeling, I'm a bitcoin holder so hoping it grow up is my daily thought, lol

Agreed on what you said, this will definitely hit that $12K but the most important thing is that Bitcoin should not get FUD-attacked by articles and also the BCH thing should stop bugging Bitcoin's price rise. I can see Bitcoin tapping that $12K, we should dream bigger for Bitcoin. We can hit that $12K.

I also think we will see bitcoin price @ 12000$ per bitcoin early next year.By the end of this year we will be close to or cross 10000$ per bitcoin.I am happy to see bitcoin cross 8000$ and now waiting for 10K$ price.Once other countries start accepting bitcoin like japan we will see bitcoin rise to 25K$ in very short time ;)

The transaction fee too will increase in future, but if this is happening every time, then who is gonna to use Bitcoin as the Ethereum fee is too low, but BTC is so much.

The price rised only within few months even after the china and Russias Fake news, bans etc. I am too hoping it will reach soon $10k and then $12k.

Well, i don´t think it will raise the same speed as it took the past few months, constantly. It could also stuck around 10.000$ in april.
For 20k $ in april, it needs to explode.

$10000 should be a target by year end. The CME group entry will definitely bring lots money into Bitcoin, who knows 12000 might be achieved this year itself.

I guess bitcoin will be having a great price pump while the alternative coins is being drowned with the bitcoin's price pump.

But I think some altcoins especially the most traded ones will also have their price increase following the increase of bitcoin. ETH ad Qtum are having a pump too if you can see in their recent charts.

I wonder if this will last, I just hope this continues.

With the price increase of bitcoin most of the altcoins value used to get drown. This is because of the value of altcoins being calculated in terms of btc. As the above mate mentioned upon the growth of bitcoin ethereum too has shown signs of small growth moving forward from the price of about $330 towards $360. Hope the growth keeps continuing.

We ain't still sure that it will be able to reach a market value of 10000 before this year end. But to think that it is possible for its value to reach 12k USD or more next year is what excites me the most and makes me want to invest and hold more Bitcoin. Surely it will be huge profit to be earned net year. Can't wait!

There is nothing impossible, but reach 12k for next January will fast hit. Many people will buy-hold this, i am waiting discount day for right time to buy more.

I would no be especially surprised by $10k or even $12k in January, but there will be corrections. Uninterrupted growth of such proportions is impossible. It may both rise to $9k or drop to $7k soon.

I think the biggest success for bitcoin is, if there is a constant beeing around the actual price. To get balanced at this height and not falling deep to the bottom.

Along with technical indication to bullish price action. Major news is expected from US regarding Bitcoin in Jan. A bill is being drafted to give Bitcoin a currency status in US instead of an investment asset. This will help in bringing down the tax on Bitcoin and can boost the growth of cryptocurrencies in USA. This will help in increasing the utility and thus will help in bringing in major investment.

Banks, some governments and supermarkets stores are accepting BTC, people are more and more getting an awareness on this thing, so it is pretty much obvious that bitcoins demand will spike and the price will rise. We might hit at 20k$ in before december. It's a reminder that we must work harder to get as much BTC as we can and make it as a long term investment.

Well, there are traders who want a big raise, but then they dump the coins to fix the profits, and want a further drop to rebuy. There can be no raise without corrections.

The good question there is can it really reach 12k by January. Although, I believe that the bitcoin market is reaching new heights every time and on a daily basis so it seems. BTC still seems to defy most types of analysis, at least to my uneducated eye.
It feels like a steady and fairly stable $9k by year's end would be a about maximum, with support in the mid $8k.

I think $10k is kind of a pivotal moment in history for Bitcoin. It may be after the new year before it hits that. For some reason, I think that round number being reached would really get the people unfamiliar with crypto listening and pique interest where it hadn't before.

Pretty jargon-heavy on the technical analysis there, but I think the $10k valuation by year's end is taken a lot more seriously by previously conservatives (myself included, with some humility). I think the long-awaited correction may never come until 2018, so if indeed it pips beyond 10k to 12k, there's always that chance of a massive sell-off followed by a sustained period of correction. This would be rational, based on the irrational psychology of that 10k mark.

A lot of long-term investors must have set take profit at above 10k levels, perhaps earlier this year: to realise 1000% profits if they bought at 1k, this would be the 11k level. With orderbooks still a bit thin on the sell side today, buying pressure is likely to grow even quicker.

$12000 in January? It's 50% increasement in 2 months. Without any important event I don't think it's going to happen, seems people are euphoric just because Bitcoin price is increasing too much these days and they think it will continue for the next months. If we are able to reach $9000 by end of December is a big achievement and if we do that, probably the price will have a moment of stabilization or drop.

Good call. I totally agree. It seems to want to settle into certain ranges for a week or two. There's not much time left. I don't ever rule anything out with BTC, however.

I am really fond of promoting bitcoin. Yes it is really cool to see bitcoin fly. And bitcoin is flying yes, but my alts are bleeding. Please give time to my alts for them to recover and continue mooning lol.

Last few days ago, i predict that bitcoin would reached to 8000$ in the end of this year (December) and it was reached to 8000$ in the next day. I think it is possible for bitcoin to reach 12000$ in beginning of the next year. I were really surprise and glad to see bitcoin increase everyday with a more stable condition, however, it mean that it will harder to earning bitcoin than the old days when bitcoin still cheap.

We can really see the price pump to the 5 digit next year but this year let's just savor the price for now and wait for the correction to occur, because even if there are a possibility for the price to hit the $10,000 value this December I really think that the value it's ready for it for now and we just need to wait until next year for an updated on what do segwit2x will do next or when is the next hard fork might occur.

Why price of Bitcoin is growing so fast? Who wanted to buy Bitcoin already bought it but the price is still growing and growing.

I would say thats quite optimistic of you that you are expecting btc to hit such a price. I personally think it might be possible. If it can climb up to 8000 in last 3 months why cant it reach 12000 in next 3. But all this is just making people quite negative about bitcoins. Such a quick increase in its value is actually making it look like a bubble which can explode anytime.

Just don't keep all your eggs in one basket.

I am  very optimistic that 2018 will be a year for bitcoin, presently the price is hovering at $8200 going up and undergoing corrections or pullback once new investors comes onboard definitely the price will hit $10,000 having broken it's highest high at $8000 before the cancellation of SegWit2x if the price of $12,000 benchmark is achieved in January 2018 definitely bitcoin will be on the rise throughout that year.

I don't think we will see another correction of any significance before hitting 10k, from then we will have a wave of new investment that really could push us to 12k or more inside of the first months of 2018.

it is all speculations. if the other way happen and the price become falling by january you will say another thing entirely. I have had people saying different things just few weeks ago when segwit2x was canceled. some were saying btc will fall back below 4k but here we are today the price has pump up, the thing is that cryptocurrency market is not really predictable. I cant imagine ETH is going so high since few days back. market change in a zig zag manner.

I am optimistic that bitcoin prices will rise $ 12,000 in January if today bitcoin prices continue to rise regularly without any price drop. But it seems to reach $ 12000 in January will be a difficult realization, at most around $ 10,000.

I think it's a great astonishing result for bitcoin. It would be wounderful just to mantain half this growth

Bitcoin value was so unpredictable, for now bitcoin value was so expensive but we don't know what possible happen in 2018, maybe bitcoin value increase or else crushing down. But for me I still believe in bitcoin, since I fully trust bitcoin I believe that their price will reach $12000 but maybe not today or this year, maybe in the following years.

Totally agree with the stats. Whether it actually happens or not is yet to be seen but heck yeah, why not. It has gained substantially since the August fiasco and the BCH attack.. The CME listing  can give it the push to fulfill your predictions.

I am very sure that bitcoin would hit 12k USD ATH in January and more economist and financial analyst would predict that it will reach as high as 20k USD in year 2018. If we are basing on a 10-year economy cycle, bitcoin would decrease in value or might have near bubble experience, IMHO. Here are the most significant economic crisis on a ten-year cycle ending with xxx8 year that might support my bubble analysis:

Its hard to believe that it would easily go crash it price since im trying to look on its chart it do really have strong supports which would not go back down on $6k price but well anything is possible to happen in bitcoins price knowing that this thing is really volatile depending on how the community would able to move its price. Demand would be the key here on shooting up for 12k or even more but talking on january next year seems too short for that price range.

It will be fantastic to see bitcoin rise above 12000 usd. But then, it will be of no surprise me because I have always believed in the growth of bitcoin and besides bitcoin has risen steadily over the past few months and rising to be above 12000 usd is something that is bound to happen.

It is really interesting on the price and increase in value of bitcoin,and no doubt  it hit the $12000,its now time to put more investment.

Here I'm just waiting it to be stable. All this volatility is not good for the cryptocurrency world. As fast as it goes up, it just goes down. I really expect to see a health grow. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure there will be a bubble coming really soon  :(

I think that bitcoin has the potential to reach 12k in January. Today its at 8k i think that it will continue to grow if there are new users joining it everyday. Bitcoin is today very strong.

That's right that's what I've been trying to tell people. Some people have been comparing it to Tulipmania which is a joke because you can make tulips. So you can inflate the value of it dramatically.Whereas with BTC the supply is finite and the supply is released with a deflationary monetary policy where it's halved every four years which just makes it more valuable year after year.

I agree with you on this statement and i actually don't think $12,000.00 is far off honestly. I actually just seen article where people from investment firm  are calling for $15,000.00 in next 3 months. That is of course no guarantee but i like those numbers i must say.

12000$ in january seems a bit ambitious. I can see 10k happening around that time but I am unsure how much rapid growth bitcoin can truly support. We shall see, I am interested to see how it pans out.

The price $8000 is already good this month but I think it will be more before the end of year. I read a news about the statements of Mr. Mike Novogratz a billionaire trader that BTC will hit $10,000 before end this year. This is very possible because it increased so rapidly in few months. Maybe next week it will hit $9,000 and will be on five figure already in December. So Maybe in January it will hit $12,000. We really don't know how far bitcoin will go up.

That is not bitcoin job or the job of investors, if bitcoin is skyrocketing because more money is coming into cryptocurrencies then bitcoin is going to go up whether we like it or not, if you care about making money then the choice is easy, join the coin that is moving up.

It is a lot of value and more than limitless market capitalism to be achieved to get what you think, $12000 MC.! I mean this has to be coming from somewhere and if only new people are coming into bitcoin investment then only it is possible. There is reason, the current investor base has already distributed the investment into different alt coins, ICO projects and bitcoin itself. Though they try to switch from other coins to the bitcoin itself then also it won’t take it to 12K value. It might be just around 10K but no more than that, to push it even further we need hard investors who will put all new mark lines into it. Tell me I’m wrong!

$12,000 in January seems a bit steep to achieve, there is only a month left and Bitcoin is struggling to hold it grounds on the $8000 mark. Though I am looking forward to see Bitcoin at that price, i do not think that it will reach $12000 soon.  If you say it will on 2018 then I would say it is very possible since there is a 12 months period for the price to go up.

I did not see the bitcoin price would stop for a ride. even I am currently seeing a lot of users who add the enthusiasm to continue to add and buy bitcoin more and they strongly believe that bitcoin prices will reach a very high price and from that belief that keeps bitcoin prices up.

It seems that your prediction is fearless :) Well, no one knows if it will reach $12000 by the month of January this upcoming year but in my own opinion, $12K is quite hard to achieve within 2 months. Yes! i know that it has a rapid growth nowadays but this is a little bit impossible since btc is way to far to reach $9K by the end of the month.

Because there is nothing that could stop it now. There are no forks ahead, no bans can effect it more than it has been affected to this day. Sure there will be some pull backs but nothing major till we hit 10k . Also the potential involvement in legitimate stock market will be huge bump in short term. I think that we will see a lot more pump until panic will overtake greed.

Well this years bitcoin has broken all my speculations about its value, wich i had believed would reach and hit 2000 dollars at this moment, to bitcoin reach 12 000 dollars it wont need a lot thing, let China or any other country to legalize bitcoin and we will see for sure those value being achieved very fast, the same way when bitcoin jumped from 2000 to 4000 dollars. Bitcoin halving will make pression at 2019, i wouldnt be surprised if we see bitcoin worthing 40k-50 dollars at those period, bitcoin is getting more popular and its price does expose those.

Today price of the bitcoin is already 9000 dollars plus and I think it will increase kore maybe next week the price will become 10k dollars.  I think 12 k dollars is possible but I think the percentage of 50 percent only because it takes few months for sure before they reach that. But we don't know what will exact happen in the next few weeks or few months.

If i read This thread few weeks back I might not support it but seeing the exclating speed of BTC, I feel It will cross $12000 mark by the Christmas. I see BTC at $20000 by the end 2018.

To be really precise then Op just need to increase the 12000$:cap he had there because in a matter of days, the cap would be exceeded hopefully and he would have been undervaluing bitcoin price for someone coming in to see the thread after that. Times like this, expectations are high that prices will increase and if any investor is smart, this is the time to hop into the game.
