Anyone feeling the way I am: Bitcoin is about to jump up to 10k!

We have broken 8k and the next stop seems to be 10k. This would mean a 25% increase in the price. If Alts follow the pattern from before (Bitcoin Gold and Segwit 2x forks) we can expect a drop of 30-40% in the Alts. I will probably sell my Alts and wait for the coming drop. Or does anyone think that Alts will rise along with Bitcoin? What are your plans for the Alts in the coming week/month?

Depending on the type of altcoin you are holding. if you hold ethereum I suppose you will not sell! There is no competition with ethereum. Ethereum is in the World of it's own. and I know of certain that we have not seen the true value of ether!

The alts are doing well atm - consistent rises - lets hope every coin goes to the moon in 2018 lol - fill your bags now.

It's been predicted that Bitcoin will reach $10k before this year ends. But unfortunately Altcoins have hard time to pump up because recently Bitcoin Cash had tried to increase the value but people were mad because Bitcoin's value was worse affected. 

I will HODL on the Altcoins im investing in currently, and hope the prices go up eventually.
Things look promising for altcoins like Ethereum and Ripple as i've read in certain articles.

Seems like you are positive on the Alts as well in the near future. i am definitly positive in teh long term, I am just trying to maximize my profit in the short term as well. So I am wondering if we have seen the final dip of the alts yet?!

It's actually hard for an Altcoin to pump up because Bitcoin's price dropped down instantly because people are dumping their Bitcoin and start to invest Altcoin like what Bitcoin Cash eventually happened last month and that's tragic case of an Altcoin.

About alts, I would probably hold them as long as I profit from them. Alts like dash, litecoin, and Ethereum prices flows with Bitcoin's price so if Bitcoin's price reach 10k by 2018, then I would be expecting an increase in price of those coins. This are just my own opinion though, I might be wrong or I might be right, just need faith.

Altcoins should take note that when they pump up their values be sure Bitcoin's price isn't affected because Bitcoin holders will crazy mad like what Bitcoin Cash event last month.

Bitcoin seems to all the rage now, overshadowing any positive news in alts. The higher the price goes the less money folks have to put into alts. The noise will settle in a month or two but until then fewer alts will see huge rises, now time to load up

$10k price of bitcoin is inevitable but i still believe on altcoins that it will survive no matter what. I have nothing to do with my atlcoin i will just hold good coins because those are the sleeping giant, in the coming years for sure altcoin will pumps also like bitcoin. Cryptocurrency is our future be hold and watch out for the upcoming profits.

There is one thing that I have learned being in crypto is that no body can predict the outcome here. When you think that alts are dead they rise from the ashes and when you think they will rise they go for a blood bath. So maybe sell half of them and keep another half just incase they rise together with rise of bitcoin.

I'm gonna keep on Holding like I've been all this time. Might juggle some Alts around to make sure my losses are not big.

I agree that no single person can perdict the outcome but it si good to have a plan for each outcome.

I think not selling all Alts is a good choice, but which to keep? What Alts will keep up even if Bitcoin goes to 10k (or stays the same)?
I like Ark but Ark normally drops when bitcoin goes up so I will probably sell most of my ARKs.

Ripple mostly holds up pretty well even when Bitcoin goes up so that might be one to keep.
Any dark horse alt that might even outpace Bitcoin, if assuming a Bitcoin jump up?

When Bitcoin reaches $10K it will set an all time high, and that should really be good for Altcoin!

Some people would not be able to afford Bitcoin anymore and price value of Altcoin would be more affordable for people to buy, which would later help increase its price.

Not sure about the big drop in the altcoin, but i was speculating about the big increase of the altcoin in the dollar pair. that means there will be a correction to get the correct price to the altcoin itself.
We will see about the big increase in the dollar value but the bad thing about altcoin lost in bitcoin's value.

I still hold a couple of altcoins but the majority of my investments are in Bitcoin and it will stay that way if Bitcoin continues to rise.
If the Bitcoin price drops over 500 dollars, I might want to temporarily buy a rising altcoin to sweep in a profit when BTC inevitably rises again.

But at this time, it's just not a good idea to hold that many altcoins instead of just Bitcoin, the difference in growth is pretty big.

I'm not sure bitcoin is going to $10,000. I think there will be a correction this coming weekend when the difficulty retargets, and there will be another BCH pump.

Not sure what will happen to alts - I personally think most will languish and the money will go into BCH.

I think alts dropping before was in anticipation of getting free coins when bitcoin went through a chain split. If it's just anticipation that bitcoin will rise - with no serious upcoming chain split - then I don't think there is a reason for alts to drop at all. Just my guess though, these markets can be impossible to predict!

i have already sold all the altcoins that i had today when i saw the rise becoming more serious. it is just a matter of managing risks that i am willing to take as an altcoin trader. even if the rise doesn't happen and bitcoin stops here i have not lost anything because i can always catch the altcoin wagon mid-way but if the BTC rise intensifies and i am stick stuck with altcions in my pocket then i will be losing a lot.

besides, when the altcoin dumps start, there will be a good chance to pick them up at the bottom and if we are lucky we can see some of the altcoin bubbles finally burst and they can come back to be viable investment options.

Agreeing with the consistency of altcoins, still hoping that eth will increase at least to $400 before the year ends. It's quite frightening actually, knowing that the increase in btc will surely attracts investors and might cause the downfall of altcoins. Still positively hoping that every coin will have a bright future ahead.

Alts can probably increase as the value of bitcoin continue appreciating surely many people will invest on alts after getting their profit from bitcoin. There are many promising alts today and I'm sure many of them will become successful like bitcoin. The future we are heading is the digital economy many establishment will open to support bitcoin and surely different ICO will be valued higher than it was today.

In last year! Bitcoin price can grown up to 10k! It very attractive for all member! I really like this!

My portfolio allocations haven't changed much in the past 1-2 months. It's ~70-75% BTC, 20-25% ETH, with small positions in low/micro cap altcoins. I don't intend to buy heavily into altcoins again until I believe that BTC is entering a longer term consolidation (on the order of months). Since it's still in a parabolic uptrend, it's dangerous to be too heavily in altcoins.

Ethereum is looking very healthy. I think once we see some long term sideways in the BTC market, ETH is an easy 2-3x. I suspect that most altcoins will be rallying at that time.

10k looks like where Bitcoin is heading at the moment and this will leave the altcoin market in bad shape to recover. Would be only profitable to hold alts that can ramp up and make progress on their respective roadmaps with substantial support, otherwise it is looking very grim for most of the altcoins.

seems like everyones on the hype train for BTC, im sure it will get to 10k but alt coins have a place too seem to just be a bit over shadowed right now.  BTC you can't really 'do' much with where as alt coins server more of a practical system, well most of the time anyway.

Not cashing out your alts into bitcoin when it is on a ride like this is very hard to do, problem is if you go all in on bitcoin and then leave it too late to get back into your alts you could miss out on that one coin that you've had all that time going crazy.

for me if only gossip and there is no certainty, you should not be too trust and hope. I will not do anything before I can see its progress. but what always happens is, when the bitcoin price gets higher, the altcoin always weakens.

Alts will probably take off after 2018. I think BTC has the current limelight and it actually stole it from ETH. ETH for example has so many things coming up (protocol updates) but everyone is completely focused on BTC because it gets all that media attention and the fact that institutional investors are looking to integrate it in their exchange and infrastructures. Before 2018 it's very likely that BTC will reach over 10k, because in December we'll see huge amount of interest in BTC exactly from the same people who have been bashing it so many years that it's a "fraud" and a failure. That's not the case in either way and they have proven it by eventually integrating it as a legit instrument to trade, go long and short. BTC will be part of the financial product family in one month and that will reflect its price.

I am just staying at the Bitcoin and waiting for the price to go up 10k but i am not selling bitcoin because that is a great opportunity for me to buy a lot of cheap altcoins because when the price of bitcoin reaches 10k then it will be a huge step up for bitcoin but a huge downfall for altcoin since its holders will go bitcoin to sell and get their profit.

Today I converted a small portion of my alts to bitcoin that were not showing growth for a longer time period. As bitcoin keeps on increasing I made this decision and found most of the promising altcoins being in a stable position without much variation in terms of USD, though the price of btc keeps growing.

If I had Bitcoins I'd cash out some of them. Some portion would invest to alts most of them are still cheap because of Bitcoin. But I think most ppl just holding their BTC.

I dont belive in the same correlation you guys talk about in this thread. The correlation that if BTC goes up, ALTs must go down. I think its wrong. Why would they?

My plan consists of just waiting because when bitcoin is too high, it is very risky to both sell or buy coins, I will just wait till bitcoin decrease to a reasonable price.

Yeah, I think we cannot ignore the possibility of a 10k Bitcoin coming sooner than most people expected. I know I am surprised. All my alt coin bags prove it haha. I am definitely staying away from alts for a long time. It would take a big, big project that I am super interested in to pry away yet more Bitcoin from my hands. I think I am already "happy" with what I have and where they are. In deep losses but stable in dollar prices. This is probably going to be my outlook until Bitcoin corrects, if ever!

Either way I will continue to hold. Hopefully Bitcoin doesnt fall too much or alts go with it which I still hate. One day alts will hopefully be truly separate. We need people to get more into alts and stop chasing bitcoin.

If it follows the usual pattern alts will climb along side bitcoin. Although whenever some people make some money they will try to flip it so we will be in a red zone. When btc is healthy , alts are as well as everyone is trying to find the next big thing and earn enormous amounts. But don't forget that bitcoin is the big gigant out there and mostly because of this some alts have value as people tend to believe that this is the thing. So my expectations is that they should be healthy - but anyway this all depends on what kind of altcoin are you hodling. In case of lets say xmr,dash, eth or some other "recognisable" crypto I myself wouldn't sell them.

Point is that higher risk comes if you hold alts but thats why it can be more profitable at end. Since btc needs to be like 16k in value to be able to double its price where as some altcoin that is like 0.10 can easily be 0.20 or even more tommorow and also backwards.

I suppose there will be a little correction of the whole market towards the end of the week as it usually was.

No one can tell since altcoins price doesnt anytime correlated to bitcoins price which if btc price would go up it would go up also.This is not the case and we do have already seen the situation on where on those time where there a price increase rally on bitcoin and all alts are going down almost reaching out 50% which it would really be a disaster for those who do hold up coins but yet its not really ideal to sell out on loss on alts. Instead of doing that better to buy even more cheaper alts on those times because it will surely pay off when price tends to recover again.

It has became a trend that when Bitcoin moons, altcoins follow the opposite direction either maintaining their dollar value or going a serious dip and when Bitcoin stabilizes or go through a correction, alts start shooting up.

Right now I am out of most of my alts and only holding some large cap coins that I bought during October dump. Bitcoin is a currency that has won global trust and thus big companies and banks are investing in it that gives it a protection from massive dump. Price will rise more and can shoot if bill about giving Bitcoin a currency status get passed in Congress. So, I ll be buying more alts if a dump starts back again. Right now a dump in altcoins isn't massive.

 I was just looking over my portfolio the last 5 months, although there have been one or two better, Bitcoin has seen the highest gains for me.


The BCH surge during this bull really opened my eyes.  Its here to stay.

There is nothing left to do. We'll keep holding our alt coins. We can't sell with huge loss at the moment. Should be patient really.

Unfortunately, we made a mistake by having this much alt coins in weight.

I do feel that bitcoin will reach 10k fairly soon but I think alts are still a good investment, bitcoin growth has slowed and will slow and so alts may get a chance to begin their rise, we have seen already many alts rising a little in the last days and I feel that more will follow and so right now I am stocking up where possible.

The more BTC rises the more alt coins drop in BTC value while staying around their dollar value. ETH practicly halved in BTC value due to this during last few months. Waves even went below it's half BTC value. So yeah, alt coins are becoming more and more risky in their BTC value.

You still believe that bullish ride was genuine? It was mere a pump and dump attempt by Roger Ver and Jihan Wu, the creator of BCH. They transferred all their Bitcoin into BCH to give it a pump and after people start jumping into and testing the floor price of Bitcoin, they dumped it hard earning profit and went back to BTC. You still believe BCH is here to stay unless it is for whales.

BCH will be even more hard dumped 1st january when Coinbase will release all BCH for his customer. They are maximum 1m BCH waiting for it , so it's hard to tell if BCH will ever survive it. They can heasily fork and do another coin.

I do not think alts are going to go down once bitcoin goes to $10K that seems only another one or
two months away. After S2X FUD was gone, alts and bitcoin have been rising together and this
should continue until some new major FUD comes.

Will sell some of altcoins in hope of 10k$ of bitcoin but my position is to hold 40% in altcoins for diversification of portfolio.

Part of the altcoins, which show + to bitcoin, I sold. Altcoins, which show - to bitcoin I will keep it to breakeven. Altcoins that trade to the dollar will continue to trade.

depends in wich alt you hold, there are some that are doing very well in this period jota//miota is one of those and also Monero XMR and litecoin LTC and ethereum classic ETC as well

Do you think bitcoin futures in December will affect bitcoin and ALT price?
Most people seem to think this will befinfit Bitcoin and give it a jump but could it be the other way around if alot of people short Bitcoin?

Many here make a good point in that ALT often move together with Bitcoin but I still think I will set most of my wallet to bitcoin in the near future and to look to gradully move over to ALTs in December, depending on how the Bitcoin futures market affect the price.

It seems like under normal market conditions, alts and bitcoin rise and fall together.  It's when a highly anticipated fork is scheduled that they diverge.  I've got about 25% of holdings in bitcoin, and the rest in several Alts, and plan to keep it that way.  Since B2X was cancelled/postponed, both my BTC and Alts have been doing very well.

I'm also feeling this way, we are near and going to that stage of our life as we will about to witness bitcoin's new ATH at $10,000 very soon.


ETH can rise along with bitcoin and with bitcoin cash it's the different way as it's the antagonist of bitcoin. I did sold most of my alt coins when we are still on the drama with bitcoin cash.

Is there a thing in Bitcoin trading, called correction on traditional markets? Cause it doesn't look like bitcoin market is ever correcting properly. I suspect it might be partly because no one benefits from the decline in Bitcoin prices (i.e. there is no short sale opportunity).

I definetly think it will be a correction in Bitcoin price coming. I think we will hit 10k first but the indication is that we are in a tightening parabolic rise and I would expect a large correction. The question is what happens after? And what will the Bitocin price be after the correction?

The next quesiton we need to think about is:
Will money be removed from the market or will it flow to ALTs?
Since crypto is currently a hot market I don't think everyone will remove their money from the market, sure there will be some profit taking but i think a lot of people will want to find the next "rocket" ALT and will spread their money across the ALTs. Some money will be removed but I think that will mostly be removed from Bitcoin. I am just going to try and time as best as I can and move my money from Bitcoin (maybe keep around 20%) to interesting ALTs.

Referring to your second question, money will never be removed from the market and i am saying this on my previous experiences. Few weeks before Bitcoin started to dumping and people were holding the BCH and it got very high pump in small amount of time. In case ever BTC is dumped, of course all the altcoins will move up as people will sell btc for alts and this has been happening whole this year.

Bitcoin is achieving 10k levels after crossing barrier $ 8000. I am planning to sell my 50% BTC at a level $10k, and planning to invest in altcoins.

I'm looking forward to the Q1 2018.

I believe there will be the rise of altcoins cause all the products promised in ICOs would be delivered since that time, and there will be hard pump as I think.

Look at the bigger picture. I will not sell my bitcoin at 10k, 100k maybe.

Even though I would advise any newcomer to stay on the big dogs such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, the Alt coin game is gonna be fun as well next year :)

most big promises will fail or need a long rail up time. q1 not much happening, believe me.
writing a webpage with a good idea and a plan how this affects the world is one thing. delivering value to customer is another.

I am planning to keep my coins that provide PoS income, especially master node coins. Full disclosure, I recently bought a master node stake of XZC (the hard fork to implement the master node tech is coming up soon). I like the idea of keeping my original holdings but having extra coins I can sell without affecting my basis investment.

I am also keeping some LTC, DASH, and XEM as hedges against high BTC transaction fees, which will get a whole lot higher when BTC goes as high as I think it's going to go.

Most alts, however, are doomed to fall vs. BTC and should probably be dumped.

Yeah I am also confident that we will hit $10000 soon, there's certain movement in some alts so I'm planning to invest some. I believe that if bitcoin will go on a successful journey going to our future, alts will also appreciate specially those ICOs that will be used if bitcoin will become a legal currency and accepted in the market. I just need to pick the best alt by doing some research on their market track record and invest at least 30% on them.

Roger Ver and Jihan Wu are not just some of the biggest 'whales' they are some of the smartest men in Crypto.  I do not believe Roger dumped all his BTC into BCH.  That would be very risky.  Can you prove that?


That dump will be news worthy.  As far as Crypto is concerned all news is good news.

under the normal conditions the altcoins market had to be revived. but there seem to be different things that are not right in the middle. I think that tether certainly has something to do with this. the events of the tether have already broken out. I think it will probably be better after the altcoins market tether's got out of the way. it seems to go up higher than these prices. it will probably be accelerated downwards, probably after 10 thousand dollars.

 

At the moment, I keep bitcoin to 8600. A lot of talk about $ 10,000. After 8600 I will look at the technical and fundamental analysis. I'm thinking of buying altkoins, I do not see the point of transferring bitcoin into a dollar, especially now, when usdt has problems.

there was several times happened that while bitcoin price up then usually most of altcoin will down and if this is happened again when bitcoin reach to $10k then bought several altcoin would be good and i believe although altcoins down but there will be a moment when the price starting climbing up again and all we have to do is only a bit patience and don't panic when major altcoin price down

Do invest with proper research because yes btc is getting expensive and will get more expensive and fees are killing it which may bring some down in the demand. But the rise what btc has given in the last few months, altcoins fail to delver that much return. So one can miss the btc ride if invested in altcoins.

If by chance bitcoin reaches $10K today. I would definitely sell some of my stash and invest on altcoins. I will invest my profit on the top 5-10 altcoins today. I won't buy shitcoins even if they are cheap. There are a lot of altcoins to invest but most of them are really for short term only, but I would pour some money where I think the coins be worth in the next couple of months.

Its really good to not put all your eggs in one basket as we say. So its better you have this Plan B or some leverage with your capital in case something didn't went as planned in either of the ecosystem.

I really love those sentiments of people here. Very bullish about bitcoin but still not forgetting that altcoins is also good for investing.

Soon BTC will go to 10k I am telling you. It will happen before the end of the year. ALTS should be held as well. Always DYOR on which coins are the best investments and choose from there. DOn't put all your eggs in one basket though, one tip I give you.

I agree with your opinion. I am fairly confident that bitcoin will reach the 10k mark by the beginning of next year and I feel that 2018 will be even better when compared to 2017 for bitcoin and the crypto world on the whole. Just like you, I feel like converting some of my bitcoin into various altcoins which have been unveiled recently. It is a tempting proposition, but it is very risky as well since some alts might rally along with bitcoin in a bullish manner which would cause my altcoin investments to be in the red zone. Confusing decision indeed.

I am not an analyst but I have the feeling that this BTC rally is somehow artificial. I would not be surprised if some really big whales just agreed about holding their BTC to shorten the market supply. If BTC comes to a certain level they will switch to altcoins wait for BTC price to fall and buy back cheaper BTC.
So I am expecting a bigger BTC crash sooner or later.

ME too ! There is like no correction at all. And with all this Tether hack and FUD, I will welcome a good old days crash to restart building a usefull network and competitive. But the price will be back way up after the next halving IMO.

Yes. I am also expecting it to crash followed by a fast recovery. But within the next 20 years I wouldn't be surprised to see BTC even at 100k. Most people are swapping from BTC to alts and back just to raise their amount of Satoshi. That is why BTC is the king of crypto.

Yeah I am also kinda "scared" of bigger crash&correciton occuring in hte bitcoin price soon. The rally has been grea but it si not sustainable in the long term. It needs to ahve a correction and time to stabilize. But I also think that the money in crypto will not just disappear and instead it will move into ALTs. This is what I am looking at, trying to maximize my investment as it is.

My thinking is that this correciton is going to happen around 10k but it could be now, it could be at 8600, I don#t know. Maybe someone with some technical analysis skills could give a better estimate. For now I am looking at 10k and then moving to ALTs.

Though I am kinda sad I sold my (small) investment in ZCoin since it has had a nice rally as of late. But it is impossible to know which coin is going to rally, other coins have dropped somewhat since bitcoin went over 8k.

Unluckily I have bigger amounts in alts at the moment, so I am stuck to wait for the price to fall. But I am expecting every alt in the top 20 going up a lot in a BTC crash except LTC and Ripple. In the lower regions it is completely unpredictable at least for me.

I do not expect for bitcoin to reach 10K before January next year so I am holding all my alts for the meantime. I think bitcoin will have a correction before it reaches 10K. When that happens, alts will have a bull run and that is when I will sell my alts for bitcoin. I will make sure I make the most of it.

And ETH does not seems affected by the surge of bitcoin. It is currently on the rise as well.

10k Bitcoin upcoming is one thing for sure, only thing is that it is ridiculous that alts have to suffer from this, there are some many great projects that need a chance to break through and in my oppinion greedy and stupidity makes people dump them for a few extra dollars of bitcoin.

While Bitcoin price is rising Altcoin are just plain low for a long time due to people and investors are focusing too much in Bitcoin so Altcoin are just sitting in the corner.
But doesn't mean that Altcoin prices are not increasing but unlike Bitcoin's price increase is insane and that's made Bitcoin unique and Altcoins cannot increase their price like Bitcoin.

It is really confusing since we wont really know on where do prices would possibly go and come to think off that altcoins and bitcoin dont correlate their price anytime which there are really some alts do go along the way together with bitcoins price movement which would really give a win-win situation for both holder of bitcoin and altcoin.It is really risky but as an investor these kind of decisions would really depend if you can able to handle the risk or not.

Bitcoin is growing tremendous amount of growth and if it continues to grow at this rate, 10k BTC is certain by end of this year. I would not recommend you to hold any altcoins as you can expect a blood bath in altcoin market when master of all crypto, Bitcoin will rise. I would only recommend you to hold onto your Bitcoins as you will be able to earn good returns in future.

Everyone with alt coins has to hold now or will be in minus.

I sold some of the bitcoin to buy some alt coins from the market. This way, I create myself a portfolio which also includes other coins rather than bitcoin. Getting only with bitcoin was somehow risky for me.

If bitcoin goes up to $10k, I'll sell some more but little portions.

I think BTC 10k is realistic target for euphoria market stage. Feels like we are in thrill right now.

For altcoins I expect huge upside moves, because there seems to be entering a lot of new money into crypto space.

It all depends in how fast the climb for Bitcoin will be. If it suddenly surges past every single major resistence, then a lot of people will dump alts to FOMO in the ride resulting in alts crashing like they did in antecipation to the 2x fork.

If it is a steady climb like its been happening the last few days (with corrections whenever it pumps up too fast), then i see quite a few alts maintaining their price, maybe even their ratio along the way.

Why everone  think that BTC will hit 10k$? any ideas or throughts? I don't think so, check google trends and see how popular Bitcoin now, it's a bubble, grows without any correction - not good for future.

Previously, it really was that if bitkoyn grew in price, then at the time the violas fell down. However, the situation changes for many reasons. Recently, there was a trend that with the growth of bitcoin, the altcoyins also grew slightly, but not all. I hope that this trend will continue in the future. Due to the constant forks of bitcoin, the altcoins are very much deprived of attention, so the market of the crypto currency has undoubtedly warped toward bitcoin.

It is very likely, but it is unlikely to be 100% predictable. I have now invested a lot in ETH and I keep the coins. I think it's the best and easiest way. It does not require much work.

I think alts will crash hard, just like they did when bitcoin rallied up because of the potential 2x fork. Everyone starts selling their coins for bitcoin to ride the wave and the price ends up crashing. Smart people will know the right time to leave and the right time to come back to alts.

I don't think alts have that much farther to fall, we're somewhere near the bottom.  Sure they can go a bit lower but they're not all suddenly going to go to 1 satoshi.  They fell so much previously because they were pumped to near ath levels for most of them.

Many seem to think that ALTs can't go any lower. I think markets behave in such a way that just when you think a coin can't get any higher/lower it always goes a little bit more than you think. Most ALTS are now fairly pressed down since it has not been a good time for ALTs since August. I think we are finding a bottom right now but since markets normally goes against prediction (since otherwise everyone would make money and not just a select few) I "hope" ALTs will drop a bit further before finally rallying to new highs.

In the grand scheme of things, now might be a good time to get into ALTs since new highs will be coming (most probably) and we should be close to the bottom (most prbably). There might still be a drop left in the ALTs but compared to all time highs that drop should be small small. I am always searching for the elusive absolute bottom (which is almost impossible to hit) so I might miss out, but I will wait a bit more before moving to ALTs. What I am looking to accumalte later are: XRP, ARK, ZCoin, PAY, CVC as first choices. The I have some small caps that I want to start accumulating: QRL, NLC2 and ONION.

Yeah definitely, i feel like markets are definitely prepared to head to the next level now.

$10000 is already in sight. Actually prices in countries where the economy is in bad shape such as Zimbabwe is already over the $10k mark which is pretty good news. Whether this will influence altcoin price on a large scale is up to debate.

Personally i don't think that a 30-40% drop like you mentioned will happen. I would expect maximum of something like 10-20%.

Just a note, which i think you also mean, when I talk about 30-40% drop then I mean the BTC sastoshi price of the ALT. Since money moves from ALTs to Bitcoin when Bitcoin shows strength and if Bitcoin jumps 20% and money is coming from ALTs then I just thought that some ALTs could drop 30-40% in BTC value.

But since the ALTs already have been very pressed a 30-40% drop I agree is unlikely but 10-20% as you say might be a more reasonable decrease.

I think that every altcoyin is individual. And you can not say about everything that they will grow or vice versa. Some will grow. Although it is clear that if bitcoin grows, investments in altcoyins will not come, and may even be deduced from them.

If you follow the relations of Bitcoin price to the costs of alternative coins, you will not see that the price of the King of Crypto world affects much alts. I will go on dealing with altcoins further.

Have already sold most of the altcoins that i had today when i saw the rise becoming more serious. it is just a matter of managing risks that i am willing to take as an altcoin trader. even if the rise doesn't happen and bitcoin stops here i have not lost anything because i can always catch the altcoin wagon mid-way but if the BTC rise intensifies and i am stick stuck with altcions in my pocket then i will be losing a lot.

besides, when the altcoin dumps start, there will be a good chance to pick them up at the bottom and if we are lucky we can see some of the altcoin bubbles finally burst and they can come back to be viable investment options.

My plan is the same. Using half of my salary to buy bitcoin! If I see incredible price drop in quality altcoin like ethereum, litecoin or monero, I buy and keep for the next 2 years. Believe it when i tell you, this stratergy has worked for me countless times!

Well for me eventhough the price of bitcoin will rise or increase up to $10k i will always trust my altcoins, i will jist hold it, and we all know that the altcoins is we will surely be affected when the bitcoin price will be increase up to $10k but we can also use it in a positive way that many people will also invest in altcoins because the price of bitcoin is we wil not be affordable unlike the altcoins.

Speculation is that bitcoin might go upto $10000 but that does not seem to be a very easy task to attain . Reaching upto $8000 is an eminent procurement for bitcoin .
Bitcoin has grown by 10 folds since september . This growth does not seem to stop for bitcoin . Following the same pattern before bitcoin gold and s2x might not effect bitcoin for a long time because price might not fall beyond $6000 in that case . Even a little price drop in bitcoin will open ways for other alt coins and that would be the best time to invest in them . But since bitcoin is so much in demand , the price drop may not long for a long time . All these key points have to be settled prior taking some major steps and investments.               

Altcoins would be raise if there is a good idea behind them

We seem to be encountering more resistance around 8200$ than I thought. either we are starting to form a top or it is a consolidation beofre a larger jump. Based on Bitcoin movement so far my guess (emphisis on guess) is still that Bicoin is going to go to 10k before turning around for a correction.

But BitCoin movements are hard/impossible to predict and it will probably be the some big institution and investors that have already decided on the next course for Bitcoin. Since they can get the ball rolling:
- Buying Bitcoin to start the jump up to 10k
- Selling Bitcoin to trigger Stop losses and having people preparing for correction.

BitCoin is a decentralized currency but since most people "go with the flow" it is enough with a large investor leading the way. I hoping for the 10k!

Don't think so, next year - of course, btc will reach 10r and more, but it is unlikely that this year. The usual currency falls closer to the new year, most likely there will be with btc.

My plan is stop holding altcoins anymore until the bitcoin price is not increase again. Some of my altcoin price is going down because of the bitcoin price increase so high. I prefer turn it all my altcoins into bitcoins and wait until the best moment to buyback my all altcoins, when the bitcoin price going down of course.

Normally, looking at the massive retraces on altcoin charts, I would expect some chop near the bottom. There wasn't much of an accumulation phase where weak hands sold into strong hands. Given how little time was spent at the bottom, I'm skeptical that alts are back in season quite yet. It's possible, but too early to say. I think we need to wait and see what Bitcoin does -- and more importantly, how altcoins react to it.

Then again, the alt/fiat charts like ETHUSD, ZECUSD and XMRUSD are all bullish. Interesting situation. :)

What's really interesting right now is even without the influence of forks, users are still buying into bitcoin. So for this reason, I already sold half of my alts (kept only the ones which I truly believed in) because I'm quite positive that it will reach about 12k$ in February.

If we look at the market price of bitcoin since past few weeks, then we’ll observe this thing that the market price has and is increasing tremendously since past few days. In my opinion, selling is not a good idea. It will for sure help you in having a very good amount of profit but holding of bitcoin at that very time can even help you in having much more profit than you’ll be able to sell your bitcoins.

Don't have big plans for altcoins, but as the price of bitcoin keeps on increasing, some altcoins have low price and for the same have plans of buying and holding few altcoins that were pumping before the ongoing rise of bitcoin hoping for a profit by the falling year.

Bitcoin have great support level at 8k5, i think it price hard to break that support level.

No really sure if we will see the pumps as we saw in June of thsi year, but as far as I can tell alts are showing back signs of life. I am already deep into alts but if I were not this would be a good time to start buying them.

I have sold 50% of my BTC investment now to FIAT since I am expecting a correction. It might be the wrong call but based on my risk/reward ratio I think this is the right decision. I wouldn't mind a correcitno since I would just buy in at a lower price for more BTC.

There will be a correction to BTC's price and the worst it can go is @$8,500 because the support level there is solid and its hard to break all my alts will sleep for now and i will wait for the pumps in 2018.

In my opinion its okay if you did that in case you got your money back that you have invested in because of this you should be "safe" since you can't really lose your money. things are starting to become real scary for altcoins if you are looking at their bitcoin prices. they keep dropping and each day i open the exchanges i see all red all around. the worst part is the if bitcoin drops, most of them will start free falling with it which is even stranger!

my current plan is to stay away from all of them till the dust settles or until i can see some serious upward momentum shaping up in them, something like what we saw a couple of days ago with pumps of top altcoins in the market. if i can see that i will jump in, otherwise i am all in bitcoin and if needs be i go back to fiat.

I have a friend who is an experienced trader and I have asked him such questions a week ago. He told me that the launch of futures will lead to BTC price rising. You can take it into consideration,
but as everyone knows, no one can predict the price and everything can happen on this market..

About my plans for the alts. I am still going to continue holding BTC and 10-15 other altcoins and pray that their price is going to increase significantly.

Although facts had shown that alts would be expected to drop as soon bitcoin's price become bullish in days, it's important to always keep an eye for it's price correction and see how many alts would jump on that point. Logically funds would be locked into bitcoins when there is an upward trends, which more conversion of alts in bitcoin happens and just everything is shitty at the point, buying back at the right time would seriously bring you much more Satoshi values, alts is always depend on bitcoins at least for now, holding is not a viable strategy anymore as it just go down and come back the same price before bitcoins growth and you could only earn some additional fiat values which is not attractive at all considering we are not existing crypto that soon.

Now that BitCoin is tethering around 10k it might be good to start planning around what can happen.
- Is a correction due?!
- What will happen to the ALTs if BitCoin drops?

It might also be time to look at your current wallet distribution. How are you headging yourself against the risk of BitCoin drop?! It might be time to draw out some FIAT. I have reduced my BTC investment by 50% to FIAT in order to be able to buy in at lower levels. I still keep some BTC if we continue to go up. I got rid of some dead altcoins and get bitcoin instead. For ETC, I'm positive, it can reach $50 next year and you can make more profit compared to the profit you can possibly make with bitcoin in 2018.

It almost became a sensation that bitkoyn so easily crossed the mark of 10 000 dollars and continues to grow. Now his rate is 10,107 dollars. It's incredible. Honestly, recently I have been getting the feeling that altcoins are just a waste of time. Bitcoin is becoming a threat to altcoins, once I start making profit from my initial investment then I sell and hold bitcoin. Its funny since the value suppases the amount we bought for in dollars but not in bitcoins.

Unfortunately I have a lot of alts that I have been holding for several months with the hope of recovering the losses that I have been dragging since the middle of the year, but as the price of bitcoin increases, it seems more difficult for me to reach a full recovery.

Therefore I have decided not to buy more altcoins and focus on a few of them as a long-term investment.

We have already broken the 10k barrier which the next target would be 11k which might be possible on next year or even on this month of Dec since we are still on November yet which I didn't really expect for the price to rose up fast like this.For now it is somehow stabilizing which anytime it would rally up again but I do expect if theres a rise then there would be always a price corrections later on.

News flash: It's already reached 10k. On that note, I agree with the idea that the prices of altcoins are correlative with the price of bitcoin. Although it may increase in different paces, it would soon follow suit because that how the market goes. However, I think there will be some exceptional altcoins that will increase at a more steady and faster pace, and that's where most people should invest in.

Bitcoin always exceeds expectations!

Now that some coins are being pumped along with btc's bullrun, I'm going to take this opportunity to consolidate my portfolio while its in the green.
I had spread my investments accross 8 different coins because I was paranoid of losing a lot.  Now that I have more knowledge I am ready to put them in 2 projects that I believe will stand the test of time.

So it saddens me, but I am going to say bye bye to my golem and ark and put it in monero.
And then I'm going to move my decred and funfair and put it in Waves.

And the one that makes me the most sad, is I'm going to let go of OMG and just put it in btc.

I've got a bit in OTN also at the moment but I think I'll hold on to that one a little more.

We've all seen this coming. Bitcoin will rise. My prediction for 10k was either before this year ends or early next year. It will not end in 10k though. Im looking at 15k by 1st or 2nd quarter of next year. The more the world knows about biycoin, the more the value will rise. As for the alts, its gonna go in the same manner as bitcoin. As people get to know bitcoin, they will also discover the alts. So hang in there.

I didn't think $10k would come so soon! And i'm surprised that most alts held their value throughout this last leg. I'm hoping BTC runs out of steam for a little bit to see how the market will behave in relation to altcoins, i think we're due for another big alt bull run very soon.

That's right don't sell your altcoin on the lower price, maybe the red mark are now on the altcoin but it doesn't mean that altcoin will not increase again,Too much bigger you will lose when you sell your altcoin at a low price, just wait until the altcoin going up again.

Bitcoin has broken the 10,000usd mark. Ath now. Unbelievable huh. But all the alts has raised in price also if you been watching. I think there will be an extremely strong correction of bitcoin's price because today's situation is a pure pump, it grows and more people buy it and it grows further.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see fifteen thousand per Bitcoin by the end of 2017, it's already clear that the price will increase more and we're already sitting on about 10.5k and it's not even December. Everyone was forecasting that BTC would reach 10k before 2018 but this has already happened, and the most important events that did drive the price up did not even yet materialized, just wait until CME officially includes BTC to be traded as a future and you'll see just how much hype the coin can get. It's gonna be kinda nuts, within the next weeks we'll see a Bloomberg announcement and everyone will go bananas, everyone will want a piece of BTC because it is clear by now that it has real utility and that it does compare very well to other financial products.

 It will grow up to the point when the investing money will finish. When it will happend all the people that invested in bitcoin
from the price 5k will start selling it. It can happend now or when it will cost 15k, who knows, but it will deffenetly happend

I can't believe his post was only 9 days ago, and is already ancient history. Alts tend to follow bitcoin, so I would say as soon as the bitcoin rise starts to lose steam and level off, we should look to invest in alts... although having said that a lot of alts are rising now too, so probably best to look at it case by case for each coin. Just need to be careful and guard against a whole market fallback.

The price of bitcoin has almost 11K. But my attitude towards alts has not changed. I will continue to make money through investment in altcoins.

now bitcoin price is more than $11,1xx in the bittrex and its just a few hours from the last time I saw. the price really makes me amaze because bitcoin can reach the highest price today. my plans for the altcoins is still holding on and don't want to sell right now because my profit is not too big and I want to wait for a while after bitcoin is stable at one level price. in next december, the price will increase more if there is no bad news that will come out so we can reach another higher price later.

Yes and thats why I’m going to focus alts more this time. Though bitcoin is showing the promise of gaining more market cap sooner (even more) though the thing is, its very much expensive now to invest into it. Its better I get more alts in the same amount of money that I might be investing into the bitcoin. This will increase the profit window for me as more coins = more profits with same % of increase in the value as that of bitcoin. So I think this is more or less smart move/ approach with the alt coin investment. Let me know what do you think about my strategy at this point. Wouldnt it be great to follow this path?  

Bitcoin dropped but growing again. Right time to switch back to bitcoin, if you moved to alt recently.

If you have eth i think you should not sell it because eth is next to bitcoin. And bitcoin now is about $1,110 that's a huge money as of now. Maybe if you sell your altcoins you just leave your eth because it might be the next bitcoin.

Man it's moving so fast. But I am of the opinion the good alts will always stick around and see new highs along bitcoin.

Altcoins can make an advantage of this, because this makes the exchange even more expensive from Bitcoin atleast. So on the logical sense, Altcoin have the upperhand at some point, if we can use it in a proper way to make the boat turn around.

Its a shame that there are so many campaigns in Altcoins but less campaigns in Bitcoin, making no use of the increased value, for those people who're not investors or whales that is.

I don't think it's a good idea of selling your alts just to ride the train, since the alts are somehow kissing the ground and you surely loss some for selling your alts. I'd rather hold my alts with me and just wait for some correction to buy some bitcoin as I know even in that price I'll probably have a good profit tho.

Who knows what will happen next to crypto coins. Theres a certain aspects we need to consider when thinking about it, You know, theres an investors and also dumpers.

10k is already here! Bitcoin recently surpass 10k psychology barrier. Yet nothing have change. No systemic failure or something. Good altcoin are still trading at premium. I think we worry to much in cryptocurrency community.

as seen from the last 2 weeks the price for ethereum is getting higher by following bitcoin prices these weeks.

Just hold some potential coins , have a patience !

I am currently holding a lot of altcoins and I am actually making a loss out of almost all my altcoin investments since bitcoin has been new all time highs. I made a few stupid investment moves and once I start making profit from my initial investment, I guess the only option left will be to dump some of the altcoins and hold bitcoin.

I gradually sell bitcoin. translate it into altcoins. I think now altcoins on the bottom. They are very promising in terms of growth.
Now is a good opportunity to buy them at a good price. Also I think that the correction in Bitcoin should be the market can go up.
And you should always diversify the portfolio

We were all ready to the event that happened on November, 28-29. I mean the new $11K maximum of Bitcoin. In my opinion, no bad changes will happen to altcoins. The coins with the best capitalization will start growing only faster.

As of now Bitcoin reached it's highs and now it is the time to settle and probably Alts will rise simultaneously.

This is the best time to get most profit from the market volatility if you are closely watching cryptomarkets.

Yes, all the alt are down now as bitcoin is moving up to new levels. I have few good altcoin like ETH, Ripple and XRB but all of them are so low. Since i bought them at high price, my plan with the alts is nothing at the moment but to wait for the increase in the price. i may take 2 month, 3 months or maybe even 6 months but i will not sell my alts cheap . As long as we dont sell cheap, we are not in loss in trading.

I gues I should change the headline to 20k upcoming :). Well ALT coins have had a really nice rush lately but are we closing on the top? ATH are set on almost every coin and even dead projects are getting some money I pumped in I hear.
Sentiment is good but do we need a correciton before being able to fully break the 20k barrier and go on another rush?
