Post by: babar123 on November 22, 2017, 04:18:33 PM
Hi
1) is it usdt or usd on bitfinex for tax laws

2) with the event of last night and finex getting backed with polish bank and adding euros, does it mean all balance of people become instantly like fiat and taxable gains from the second finex announce it is backed by the polish bank, does this timestamp matters if u rebought btc with usdt before that

all this is complicated nad can have huge consequence for users, i dont find the answer

I think you'd be better off asking here - https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/

Bitfinex and paying tax on trading profits are very regular subjects in the daily discussion thread.

It's going to be very interesting to see what happens to USDT on Bitfinex.

As it stands there's no way they'd convert a USDT balance to USD without informing anyone, that's if it's possible at all. That would open up a whole can of worms about liabilities and compliance. It'll stay how it is.
