Title: How did you start in CRYPTO WOLRD
Post by: Maus0728 on November 23, 2017, 12:08:04 PM
Goodevening. I've been studying and researching in CRYPTOCURRENCY for about 2 months now. I also found out this forum 1 month ago, and I found out that this forum has a lot of information about CRYPTO. I always read threads in this forum so that I can familiarize myself here. According to the articles and threads I read you can get some BTC thorugh mining, airdrops, trading, gambling, campaigns here in this group, faucets, gambling[risky],ICO[risky]

Can I have some ideas where to start? I am planning to go in Trading while doing some faucets for free sats. I am about to spend some pennies of mine to buy some altcoins in some of exhanges. IS THIS A PRACTICAL MOVE FOR ME AS A BEGINNER?? And after
I rank up I will jon some CAMPAIGNS.

Can I have your opinions about this? Is this a GOOD STARTUP?
Im always reading and researching. THANK YOUU

Learn how to securely store your coins first. Then familiarize yourself with some of the more respectable exchanges. Learn how to read order books and how limit / market orders work. Then buy yourself an amount of coins that you feel comfortable with, even if BTC loses all its value. Withdraw it to your wallet, forget about BTC for 4-5 years and profit once the next halving occurs.

Don't bother with faucets, they are a waste of time. Trade alts only if you feel like gambling. And read this:

but my suggest Do not too long at faucet , because as i know faucet right know really really give u little of satoshi
another  suggest just try a faucet from non popular coin and hope that coin can be "dragon " for future .

try using ur real money and deposit to an exchanger , and learn about trading , that the best way for someone who wont do gambling

1) Don't leave your coins on an exchange.

2) Don't leave your coins on an exchange.

3) Most secure and convenient way: Buy a hardware wallet such as the Ledger or Trezor -- preferably directly from the producer's website.

4) Equally secure but slightly less convenient: Learn how to create a paper wallet or how to setup up cold storage using an air gapped device

5) Only as secure as your online device, so basically not at all: Desktop wallets such as Bitcoin Core, Electrum. Mobile wallets such as Mycelium. Web wallets such as Blockchain.info. I would not, under any circumstance, hold more than spare change on a device that is connected to the internet.

6) Don't leave your coins on an exchange.

Faucets are one of the lowest paying ways to earn crypto - but they are one of the simplest ways. They are also a great way to learn about crypto before committing to spending your own hard earned cash and still give you exposure to this crazy world.
If you havent already gotten yourself some wallets - the Jaxx mobile multi wallet is a nice one to start with give you a few different alts as well as a btc address. Cryptonator is an online multi wallet also. But I wouldnt store large amounts of currency in either of these as they are not as secure as a wallet you create with a seed/passphrase etc.
If trading seems a bit "kkkeeeekekkk" (it still is for me after spending 5 minutes on etherdelta lol) some places to help you without having to spend hours trying to claim from faucets would be the CoinPot faucets for btc, ltc, doge and dash (moondash.co.in or moondoge etc) it has a no-timer claim, you can use your cpu to mine those currencies as well as bch, and convert the coins to one coin for free after they have built up a little. Its free to transfer them out also.
Another place to go is Eobot. It has a daily faucet and your can send altcoins from coinpot to it and start running the miner program. Its a cloud mining service and if you can fund it with a few coins here and there and the daily faucet claim you can generate a little free coins.
Other sites that I found fun included FaucetHub and Digital Artists Online and EarnCrypto.

But as Heretik said those sites won't earn you much for your time and effort. Earning 100 satoshis is kind of useless when $10USD can get you 121k btc satoshis and will take 2 minutes of time vs days lol.

Also, some people might be able to capitalise on an overnight success - but crypto's a long game - trying to figure out trading patterns as a beginner will probs give you sleepness nights and cost you too much in fees if u get it wrong - so again following Heretik's advise is pretty much the best investment option. Buy BTC, and a couple of promising alts - keep them in secure wallets you control and HOLD for a few yrs.

Myself, I started everything with faucets. But it was few years ago, it was much easier to get decent amounts of btc from faucets. I recommend to stay away from gambling - it's not way of earning money. ICO's are also risky, I don't recommend it fir newbies. Mining requires big investments and it gives not very big returns. If you don't have cheap electricity and few thousands bucks - better not to start. And actually, you won't get btc from mining, you would mine altcoins.
Campaigns are great way to earn btc (or tokens), but you need higher forum rank. Some airdrops also can be worth attention. Trading is a great way of earning btc. But if you are planning to trade seriously, you need lot of knowledge. For start, try to read basics of trading, start to analyze crypto market. Investing money on altcoins can really bring you nice profit.

Going for making money is always the bad choice. This is a very very common mistake among beginners trying to get into this crypto space. Why not study first? Cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology isn't that easy to get into early on. It's going to take you time to read a bit.

I've got into trading thanks to a friend of mine, but I didn't know the market I was entering at all. Luckily I played safe and I've made small trades and a lot of test trades, taking notes and learning what to look for. I've watched TA tutorials on youtube and learned how to read the order book.
I think what helped me the most was a discord server dedicated to cryptocurrencies.
Also, following the news for the specific coin you want to trade is perhaps more important than technical analysis.

I found bitcoin while I was trying to find a way to earn money online. There were these "autopilot" methods and things to make money but most we're closed and already over used many were fake and many were scams or simply a waste of time. Then I learnt about Bitcoin and was curious and did my research. I thought about buying some mining machines from butterfly labs when they had the monarch miners but I didn't because I didn't trust it and I was right because many people never got their miners they paid for and they wanted the money upfront. Then someone told me to come here and I have never looked back and been happy ever since. :)

I started in Crypto World just like what you did, I was in Faucets too. After that, I tried to invest though not lucky since most of HYIP's just flew away taking our money. Right now, I was on trading and just taking it a step by step in learning.

i think starting in a trading while you are a newbie/beginner is not a practical move. thats a very risky move that you ever made, because in trading you are trying your luck with a high capital without assurance that you can earn more than your capital. i think try to get/gain more knowledge before you get through on that activity, the best ways are studying and rank up to earn BTC without risky moves in the future.

I started reading about it out of blank interest. Never knew that it would really get me great fortunes that I never imagined I would achieve in such a short span of time. Right now I'm diving deep on the technical aspects of bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general and would someday--hopefully--be a developer of some sort specializing in crypto.

My start was with research about crypto and then taking the super simple step of purchasing via Coinbase. From there, started to look into alt coins via other exchanges and moved coins around accordingly.  As mentioned, a hardware wallet is ideal, to keep you coins off of the exchanges, unless you are actively trading them.  Good luck out there and only invest what you are willing, or able, to lose.

Good advice. Get a coins you beleive in (bitcoin, ethereum, etc), store in a cold wallet and go to bed.
Those who spend long hours on exchanges are not neccesarily the successful treaders

I think you should spend some more time in reading valuable posts/articles so that you will be able to learn and understand in a better way. I have joined this forum in 2014 and still, I find myself incomplete so I try to read as much as I can to enhance my knowledge and skills.

I appreciate your move to start trading with the little amount but before that, I would highly recommend you, spend your time in understanding the things and market behaviour. I started during my domain name reselling business and found Bitcoin worth spending my time on it.

Knowledge is power, you are definitely in the right place for
Research and information. Start of in some good exchanges to trade
In maybe the top 10 cryptocurrency, store them securely and hold them,
For a little while, if you feel to gamble and want a quick buck
Research first some new tokens and if you like what's in the
White paper buy into them when they at ICO stage and hope for the
Best, you will get some bonus at ICO stage, and hope they take off. This can be risky.
You know,
high risk high reward, soo good luck and enjoy.

Hi there! I think the most important thing to understand for a beginner is that you are for a fact going to make mistakes (as everyone did), that's why you should start with a small amount, believe me you need to learn a lot and end up with a lot of different software/wallets/adresses/fees etc..

With a small amount if you do make a mistake for example playing around with Bittrex's auto-sell option, it's ok you only loose a few satoshis but you've learned what it actually does and how it works.

I personally made a few stupid mistakes and I'm glad I only had a small amount.

The best thing is to read a lot about the different crypto's and then make a decision in which you want to invest in> do not leave your crypto's on an exchange.

Depends on how you use it.

You can use MyEtherWallet in conjunction with hardware wallets, in which case it's as secure as it can get. By default MyEtherWallet works as a web wallet, in which case it's as safe -- or unsafe -- as any other wallet that is stored on an online device.

Best thing to do is start small, start using the differents wallets, use the exchanges, know how to protect yourself, use coinmarket and find more resources that will help you in the future, make a twitter account and start folowing crypto traders ... there is a lot of things to do and can be overwhelming so take your time and to things slowly dont rush

For me mining only by one person is not a good idea so just trade, make yourself the best in it and after that try to do something diffrtent cause trading is one of the hardest tools to earn in this world imo.

You already started. This forum is the right place for all beginners.
Don't spend your time on faucets it is just a shit with a lot of commercial. If you really have some money,no matter how much, input it on an exchanger and start your first steps as a trader already now, while you didn't join any campaign.
Can I have your opinions about this? Is this a GOOD STARTUP?
Im always reading and researching. THANK YOUU
That is great start up. That's what I am actually doing and for now it is going great, BTC rised from the moment I bought my first mBTSs and I am kinda in plus, but I invested some micro amount of money for now, anyway I am happy for my small, but success  :D
Good luck!

Can I have your opinions about this? Is this a GOOD STARTUP?

I was navigating in Taringa and i saw a post about an altcoin called DeepOnion, i read about this coin and really liked it. So i started to create an account here and in the coin forum. Then i invested in this coin and started to learn everything i could about cryptos. Now im in the crypto world for 3 mounths and i made some money and learn a lot of stuff.

My good friend, my friend, who has been interested in all the stories about me. I was afraid of risk, but it turned out that everything was OK and I am very happy now.

I began with a small investment into BTC, after begin introducted to bitcurrencies by a collegue.
Next to that I had an even smaller investment and started doing daytrades, buying several coins or ico's and getting deeper into technical analasys.

You can read up on so much, the community is great and if you're willing to invest time into it, its a great way to earn (in my case loose, then earn :P ) some decent money.

I only started my journey with Crypto about 6 weeks ago and the first thing I did was purchase a Nano Ledger as my main concern was theft of the coins.
My next step was to research this took about 2 weeks before i bought my first coins, I started with some simple ones like XRP, Powr, Enjin and a few other.
My investment amount was $600 to start building it up to $2,500 I will put a little more in over the next few week and maybe sit on $3,500 for a few months and see how it progresses.

I did try trading a little but found it a bit stressful with all the variances and have now committed to long term hold fo between 6-24 months.
So far after my first month the increase in value was 45% not too bad for a beginner i think but hopefully with better research and buying at the right time I am hoping to get a 10x for the first 6-12 months

I bought into one ICO only and that was Utrust, I have noticed most ICOs now have a fairly large drop after hitting the exchanges so not sure about the ICO investment yet unless you get pre ico with bonuses

I stumbled into cryptocurrency back in September, taking some time to earn a basic understanding of bitcoin. From there, I've been using some faucets to get accustomed to acquiring satoshi. Though a slower process, it does help.

As for bitcointalk, I came across this about a few weeks ago and I have been taking in some of the information posted.  I am working on getting up in the ranks so I can begin participating in campaigns.

I work in a technical field and started receiving inquiries from work colleagues about it. I started doing some research by buying up some books (Still working through "The Bitcoin Bible") and reading as much as I can on the subject. I've since invested about 5% of my portfolio and haven't been disappointed (made about 30% so far just off BTC and ETH). Not bad for less than a month in the market. Puts my share portfolio to shame!

I learnt a lot by setting up a miner (started out with dual ETH and DCR now just mining FTC). I don't have much of a rig but I find that I learn best by doing. It's not to make bucket loads but merely to learn about it all.

I'm currently looking at day trading and researching heavily into it. Does anyone know of any demo platforms where I could practice without using my actual holdings?

I started using faucets to get my head around the concept and this prevented me from investing any of my own income.
Unfortunately now though there are too many scam faucets out there. If I was to start again I would test the waters with a small amount of Bitcoin. The most important lessons are finding a safe wallet and fiat to crypto currency converter.

Could you suggest some of your favorite Bitcoin books? I think that might help for the people here in forum, you know for extra references.
Me too I'm focusing on day trading but I'm just on a research stage. My Exchange account have not yet been verified.

Sure! I'd start with "The Bitcoin Bible" by Benjamin Guttmann. Noting that it's fairly outdated now.

I'm also a fan of "Blockchain Revolution - How the technology behind bitcoin is changing money, business, and the world" by Don and Alex Tapscott.

Noting I too am really only just getting started open to other suggestions from other users too  ;D

Thanks for "Blockchain Revolution". Have never heard before. I`ll try it for sure. Is it real to start with BTC now, or I should better look forward some altcoins?
