Title: Is coingather down? Post by: crashcup on November 24, 2017, 09:01:27 AM Is coingather down? Domain not responding for more than 24hrs now
Title: Re: Is coingather down? Post by: as_Mieszko on November 24, 2017, 10:45:52 AM It is not known what exactly happened. But no response by 30h suggests that, unfortunately, we lost our money
Title: Re: Is coingather down? Post by: crashcup on November 24, 2017, 11:02:47 AM You mean we've been goxed?
Title: Re: Is coingather down? Post by: Cryptolurker on November 24, 2017, 04:36:14 PM i've tried to reach that site too since yesterday.
Title: Re: Is coingather down? Post by: as_Mieszko on November 24, 2017, 05:25:05 PM I mean this can be a serious hacker attack or Rapta run with all money
Title: Re: Is coingather down? Post by: allknowingeye on November 24, 2017, 07:18:29 PM In what country was it based?
Title: Re: Is coingather down? Post by: CBWriternyc on November 24, 2017, 09:15:21 PM I suggest we all start sending editors story tips that Coingather has completely gone dark for more than 53 hours. There is also a twitter account but it's quiet too! At least if we can one of the cryptocurrency news sites to dig into what's happened then maybe we'll get some answers.
Title: Re: Is coingather down? Post by: Sharpblunt on November 25, 2017, 09:04:56 AM I did some research into them, they're based in Ohio in the US, so that explains why they're still down and haven't responded, it's been thanksgiving since Thursday (roughly when it went down) so they more than likely closed their offices for the weekend.
They've been around since 2012, so stop stressing they won't just shut down and run off with your money, they're a registered company in the US. You don't need to get crypto news sites to investigate, it's thanksgiving weekend, that's why. Title: Re: Is coingather down? Post by: teddy5145 on November 25, 2017, 09:20:08 AM Honestly, this is the first time I've heard Coingather.
There are no updates from their Twitter either, even if it's Thanksgiving in the states its unprofessional of them to not post news or update. This could be just coincidences or they ran away ::) We'll see in a few days. Any links that stated that they are registered company in US?I tried to do a few searches but no results. Also, according to their topic they're open since 2014, just sayin ;) Title: Re: Is coingather down? Also, according to their topic they're open since 2014, just sayin ;) They registered their domain in 2012, and their copyright was from 2013. CoinGather Ltd. I saw their info on their domain registration but it's been made private now, probably due to a lot of people checking it. Their site has gone down before, don't stress people. I know it's unprofessional, and I assure you I also have a lot of money on there but we will get it back. Additionally, the hosting IP is still pingable, which means the host is still there, it's just a problem with the web server, probably a resource utilization issue. Although there's something fishy going on cause I managed to get a lot more information yesterday and now I can't find it anymore... Title: Re: Is coingather down? Post by: MOProgress on November 25, 2017, 12:36:58 PM The thing is not that the site is down, but the problem and what is complicated is the fact that they have posted nothing in their social medias concerning their website not online. Let's hope for their return because a lot of people have invested in there.

Also, according to their topic they're open since 2014, just sayin ;) It's actually been 4 days (as far as I know) and up until now their site is still inaccessible. You're right about that, Normally if a site will be inaccessible for a period or time they will make an announcement but coingather didn't make any of that. You can still submit a support ticket but no one replies and their social media accounts are dead. The fact that they're here for a long period of time doesn't really guarantee anything. It's understandable that people will find their actions suspicious. By filing necessary complaints you mean doing a legal action? That will definitely cost you money but if you're good with that. It's better to consult someone first. Title: Re: Is coingather down? Post by: Obi2024 on November 27, 2017, 08:40:46 AM It is very unprofessional for the site to go down without any prior notice, even if there was sudden attack by a hacker or something, then the first thing to do is to make the announcement on other social media channels so that people will know exactly what their fate is, keeping quiet and leaving everyone in the dark is most unprofessional.

Title: Re: Is coingather down? Post by: almightyruler on December 02, 2017, 10:03:06 PM I've been trying off and on for about a week. It did seem to be up a couple of days ago (I think?) but now it's down again.
There's some discussion in the latter pages of the official thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=720274.0 |
