Post by: bitmina on November 26, 2017, 01:21:33 AM
Hello,

Need help to pick the right power supply, what I look at now is to get :

https://www.parallelminer.com/product/hp-1200-watt-power-supply-kit-for-gpu-mining-platinum-94-zec-dash-eth/ (https://www.parallelminer.com/product/hp-1200-watt-power-supply-kit-for-gpu-mining-platinum-94-zec-dash-eth/) this will be for the GPU,  3x

(in the top of the cards its is 2 power inlets one 6pins and  8pins, is it ok to just use the 6 pins, or need to connect both?

http://www.corsair.com/en-eu/rmx-series-rm1000x-1000-watt-80-plus-gold-certified-fully-modular-psu-eu (http://www.corsair.com/en-eu/rmx-series-rm1000x-1000-watt-80-plus-gold-certified-fully-modular-psu-eu)             this is for the motherboard

is this overkill? first time I build rig btw

it depend on what GPUs you are using, if you are using r9, you need a big power, if you are using RX series, you need less power.
