Title: Satoshi Day Post by: crrdlx on November 26, 2017, 07:03:35 AM Okay, since it needs to be done, and somebody's gotta do it, I'm naming the day when one satoshi is on even par with one USD penny as "Satoshi Day". The US dollar is the symbolic de facto fiat and the penny is the smallest unit. A satoshi is the smallest bitcoin unit. When 1 penny = 1 satoshi, we're there.
Things are not as far away as one might think. A single penny is worth only 110 satoshi right now. And with bitcoin rising, that satoshi-to-penny ratio is dropping. Maybe somebody with better math skills can figure out what one penny was worth in satoshi a year ago...must have been a few hundred satoshi to one penny. It's happening. Traditions will be needed when the Satoshi Day comes. Fireworks? Songs? Lighting your favorite fiat bill on fire and launching it with one of those Chinese lantern things? Title: Re: Satoshi Day Post by: AGD on November 26, 2017, 07:06:06 AM Will we remove the Satoshi Day again, when price goes down?

Well, this can be a good idea though people can be too busy watching their Bitcoin goes up and down in their computer or any gadget screen for that matter. Nevertheless, a Satoshi Day to be celebrated online can be a good idea as a way to look back at the colorful history of a very mysterious man and how he was able to gift us an innovation of a lifetime called Bitcoin and the blockchain technology. Maybe Bitcoin leaders can include this idea in their agenda whenever there can be gathering or a conference. It can be a good tool to unify all Bitcoin holders, enthusiasts and lovers all over the world. Title: Re: Satoshi Day Post by: Don Pedro Dinero on November 26, 2017, 07:17:08 AM It seems a good idea but for that, bitcoin price must reach $1.000.000. Some people doubt we will ever reach that figure.
Who knows, maybe this post will be bumped because it reaches that price. The BTC will be the future currency surely. The above chart shows it very early and as an inverted price chart of Bitcoin/USD, it helps us more easily see Bitcoin price growth and more challenge to have enough money for buying 1 bitcoin. Title: Re: Satoshi Day Post by: FortuneFollower on October 13, 2025, 12:41:21 PM ^ One day, 1 sat will be 1 dollar, and it's like a dream come true for Satoshi himself, I imagine, as that would mean BTC is that demanded by all the parties 8)
Title: Re: Satoshi Day Post by: CryptoGirl_200x on October 13, 2025, 12:51:32 PM Good idea really but i do not think making or turning the day 1 sats reaches 1 penny satoshi day is the best idea, question like what happens when the price falls or depegged due to fluctuations may begin to arise, so instead of waiting the day 1 satoshi reaches 1 penny to turn that day into satoshi day, we can figure out another event that has nothing to do with the price of bitcoin to turn into a day we can name and celebrate as Satoshi day.
Maybe the very day satoshi disappeared never to be seen online again can be named and celebrated as satoshi day, just a suggestion. Title: Re: Satoshi Day Post by: coaltin on October 13, 2025, 04:35:17 PM Any day can be satoshi day. It depends upon which community it is being referred to. If Bitcoin community then satoshi is 1millionth of one piece of bitcoin. Gamblers don’t care about bitcoin as soon as it is transformed into dollars upon receipt. Because of its popularity it is accepted. Most rely on the fact that it can be liquid in many countries.Bitcoin adoption is slow and most retail chains outside US don’t care. Investors sees it as a reserve asset. Some people use it to beat inflation. Otherwise satoshi did his part and left it to the bitcoin foundation to observe which day could be celebrated as Satoshi day. We have bitcoin pizza day now we have satoshi day. Then we can have a day with the name of each altcoins Monero day, Tether day and so on and so forth.
