Title: Bitcoin Ads - 30 second spots - Updated
Post by: TraderTimm on June 30, 2011, 04:08:47 PM
Edit: I'll just make this the collective thread for when I post more of them...

Hey there, whipped up a few 30-second spots, with more on the way. All available in 480p resolution.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9i5X4b3lAog - Spot 1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f__LBr1qDSY - Spot 2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kp-IR3F4bUU - Spot 3

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UU1vePWwvxc - Bad Economy?

Got more ideas in the pipeline for some short clips that piques people's interest. I disabled comments on the videos, only because I don't have time to play moderator, and most comments on YouTube are the hit-and-run variety.

CC Licensed, so feel free to mix/edit/whatever.

Enjoy!

Nicely done... but where are the other 900 and change?  :D

Love that!  Short, love the tag line, only links to the coin site, true little viral clip.   There should be about 10 like that with different tags.  I am not smart, other people need to write those, start replying smart writers!

The theme music reminded me of The Ventures. With that said, I offer up this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nB3Ma2EkMy0 to be use on Reason 739: No More Clogged Pipelines.

(feel free to change the word clogged)

Nice work.  How about: "No more worrying about unauthorized reccuring charges.  You authorize each transaction with bitcoin."

I wanted to use the "Reason < high number >" format to emphasize there were many facets of bitcoin that would appeal to people. One may be more important than the other, depending on their usage of the system.

Just having fun with the format :)

I like it. The only thing I would change is when you say "visit our website". I don't think it should be possessive, it makes it seem like we're a brand or a company.

Thanks for the music reference, but I have to stick with Creative Commons licensed music to avoid any takedown notices from copyright holders. Nice video, though.

I see your point, but I like the cohesive feel of 'our sites' personally. If it becomes a bigger issue I can re-edit, but I'd like to stick with it for now.

Alternate to have no domains attached but giving an easy path for a viewer to go down, because people do need to be led by hand sometimes, "Type 'Bitcoin' in Your Favorite Search Provider" or something to that extent

I'll experiment with a few things and see if I can make it easier for them. For now, I have the sites linked in the description. I don't like how YouTube handles annotations, I feel it disrupts the video immersion. Appreciate the feedback!

Also, have a few more up there - it is becoming addictive, haha.

Well done!  I like.

I do agree with the point about the use of "our websites".  I think just "visit: bitcoin.org and bitcoin.it" sound better and more succinct.

Thanks for putting those together.

Appreciate it, thinking up some more :)

Suggestions welcome. If it fits in the format, (sentences can't be too long, I'd like to keep them large and readable), then I'll use it!

Cool, some people on reddit digg (not funny) this

I hope someone there thinks of some good tags or anything else to add.

Why Bitcoin?

Reason #12

With bitcoin, there's no "big man" in the middle. You are as important to the bitcoin network as every other member of the community.

Thanks!

I love them all. The concept is perfect.

I absolutely love the concept of the last one, but I think you need to change the size and speed (and maybe color?) of the text. I would make the text a bit more thick, not so thin, and some parts are imposible to read because they fade too quick. But the general idea is brilliant.

I'm not an expert in advertising, but I think the spots are a little long for the amount of information conveyed.  Would a 15-second spot be better for one "why," or two "whys" in a 30-second spot?

EDIT: On second thought, maybe the length is about right for someone totally unfamiliar with the concept.

It's just one format I settled on. If you have other ideas, go for it! They're all out there just to get some interest generated. Some of the more technical presentations of bitcoin can be a bit of a turnoff for regular people. I just wanted to distill some of the ideas into easily presentable videos :)

Brilliant marketing. Short, simple, nice toon, easy to remember !!!

Love to see you plug my favorite reason for owning bitcoins:

- It is a decentralized currency. No Federal Reserve or Bank will devalue or manipulate this currency like they do with the dollar.

Keep up the good work!

Stew

I don't like the first 3 because of the (imo cheesy) "Reason <random number> blah" approach. That shit is tired.

The 3rd.. better, could be a little better.

I guess this is the part where I ask you to make yours, so I can compare :)

Hey, they seem to be racking up some decent viewing numbers, so they can't be *that* bad, lol.

nice spots.

i eagerly await your final cut, and request for funds.

in the meanwhile, is there a way to work this in?

this seems like manna from heaven - never underestimate the multiplier effect of current affairs.

Your Welcome. Forgot all about the Creative Commons thing.

Warning: Brain fart ahead. But if Bitcoin had its own unique music theme to draw the viewer/listener in...

Why be methodic?: 15 second spot; 30 second ad; 1 minute commercial. Bitcoin is different. Therefore, I suggest all ads are primed 37 seconds long.

Appreciate the comments guys. I don't require funding to keep going, but if you are absolutely set on donating to me, just shoot me a PM on the forum. I'm going to take a break over the holiday weekend, but I have a few more ideas that will see the light of day soon.

Have a good one!
