The crazy demand of people for bitkoyn in the hope of gaining huge profits generates its insane growth in price. There was a strong skewing of the market of crypto currency in the direction of bitcoin. It would be better if the market of the Crypto currency developed evenly, so that bitkoyn would not sever much of its price from the other altcoyins. The current state of affairs will simply lead to a sharp drop later, which, given the presence of many newcomers to the crypto currency, will lead to inevitable panic and a sharp decline in its rate.

Yes, indeed the demand is too much at this point and we have no time waiting for the bitcoin to go up very high and see that its now very expensive. Because we can not buy at that price and hence people are trying to grab as much bitcoin as they could at this point. Thus making everything look like gong hyper active now a days. This has created huge leaps in the crypto market. The most surpassing thing is alt coins are going upwards in this regard and wondering how the money is flowing in the both streams. In the older days it was like when bitcoin use to go up the alt coin use to go downwards. But things have been different now a days and well I like it.

Indeed, the price of bitcoins has been growing lately. The reason for this is one - the crazy demand for it and the massive investment in it of people who want to profit from the growth of its rate. For the same reason all other bubbles have happened throughout history...pure unbridled greed.  There are no underlying fundamentals that can justify a parabolic rise like this...especially when there are so many other altcoins that are equal or superior to BTC for use as a day to day currency.  The only reason institutions are getting involved is due to demand by their clients.  Personally I do not know anyone in investment institutions that recommends crypto to their clients.  They consider the whole crypto space to be an irrationally overbought bubble and to put their own money into it far too risky at this point.  All of these investment professionals have known about Bitcoin for years so it's not a question of not understanding the technology (since everyone uses ignorance as an excuse for those that do not want to put their capital into it)...they probably understand BTC better than 99% of the shitposters that comprise the majority of the forum members.

So that's basically it...the rise in price is due to crazy/irrational greed and not much else.

IN last few the no.of users on this forum has increased tremendously,thus increasing demands and according to some sources many people have invested in bitcoin on occasion of thanks giving,again increasing the demand,resulting in increase price.

It is a store of value asset that can be easily moved across borders without any intermediary/3rd party that unlike gold, stocks, bonds, real estate, is largely free from any central bank led price manipulation.

Bitcoin is ultimate store of value and its popularity has strengthened over time and maximizes value compared to any other altcoin...why?:
If it can be shutdown, and have assets frozen by a bank or government, there would be no value
If it wasn't secure, there would be no value.
If it wasn't immutable, there would be no value.
If it wasn't globally distributed, there would be no value.
If it wasn't so strong, open-source decentralized and unstoppable, there would be no value.
If it wasn't so scarce, there would be no value.
If it was easy to spam transactions, there would be no value

It's quite obvious that the demand is high for Bitcoin these days since the supply is limited. The thing that matters is the money flow. Where do you think all this money is coming from. All I can think of is black money. There will be many other investors investing their hard earned money but then the share of black money would be much bigger in Bitcoin. The anonymity of the coin is another reason why people are investing their black money in it. There would surely be a problem when they will need to withdraw it as governments are regulating crypto currencies these days.

Bitcoin has crossed $11000 mark yesterday. It has raised 900% from 1st Jan,2017. Bitcoins supply is restricted to 21 million bitcoins. But its ever growing demand making it more and more volatile. I think the main factor is the growing public confidence in Bitcoin. This makes the Bitcoin price rise crazy, until now I'm sure many people who have gained profits and they become rich. I as someone who has Bitcoin certainly feel getting a big profit, Bitcoin price increase of tens of percent has made me become rich. It has driven me crazy because I am now beginning to realize my dreams. The current Bitcoin price has made me think that when I sell it right now I can add the money I have.

Yes bitcoin forks have increased and so very much benefit from investment for bitcom owners. This is also one of the reasons why everyone wants to have bitcoin.

i guess this happen because of the pumping of many big investors who have huge amount of bitcoin, they want to get much more profit so they buy a large amount of bitcoin, making the price of bitcoin rise up so quickly, more and more investors buy bitcoin will make its price higher, and when big investors sell, bitcoin price will surely drop.

I believe that part of the rush to get more bitcoins as possible is due to Nasdaq listing it into 2018, soo its expected to get a huge atention as well big investors joining bitcoin, something it were hiden in the past will be exposed, and it might make others stock markets to list those, making the price to explode into the short time, soo yes its a good moment to buy and hold bitcoin.

I think there are many reasons for that. But the main two reasons are the scarcity and the demand. Now as we know, the amount of people who hold bitcoin is obviously very small. Even for some countries, it is very hard to buy bitcoin, which also makes the price become high.

based on my research bitcoin is going up crazy because the supply of bitcoins is totally limited for 21 million and last i see that bitcoin will reach 16 milliion? so we need to expect that the demand will go high and the price of bitcoin will going to increase more and more.

Well the price is all based on the demand and supply so the thing that it is having a continuous price pump means that the demand is continuously rising or increasing. There is also a huge possibility that a big figure entered the industry so the price suddenly pumped, but I think if it did, it will quickly dump.

Prices are rising like crazy because of the newcomers, the 'FOMO' effect at work.
People read all these articles and tweets about how BTC might reach 50k in 2018, they place bids at a 100-500$ above the going price because its important to get in now to reap gains later (at 50k), the price is being inflated by the people itself. This growth is unsustainable and might cause a crash in near future.

Having said that BTC (as well as some other coins) have very promising technology but are in a primitive stage and will be very valuable in the future, but currently all the common public sees is $$$.

I personally do not know for sure why bitcoin prices can soaring high, I do not know and I also do not find out what causes the bitcoin price to be so high. I think bitcoin prices are rising sharply due to market demand. Many people are trying to buy more bitcoin because they believe it will increase quite high and by the end of this year. They believe that history will repeat, which is why bitcoins are rising.

High demand is the main cause of rising bitcoin prices. Those who invest bitcoin always believe that at the end of every year bitcoin prices will soar. I think it's too much if history is to recur, all we need to do is do some analysis to do the right speculation so we can benefit in the future without having to lose.
