Title: Avalon Asic Quesiton Post by: crazyearner on July 02, 2013, 11:58:07 PM I have a simple question that I have come acorss on the forums here and wold like to ask the following to some of the Avalon asic users.
I have seen a number of people saying they are removing some sort of fuse or wire on the unit. Can someone explain this to me why this is done or what its in need for? Title: Re: Avalon Asic Quesiton Post by: jspielberg on July 03, 2013, 12:04:00 AM As a teaser... it was sending too much power to some usb related part, and clipping/removing the fuse prevents power to that USB port. The port becomes unusable... but the rig is much less likely to catch on fire and start cursing at you and stop hashing (in that order).

Batch 1 and later Batch 2 do not have the issue.
