WHAT ARE LEALANA PHYSICAL LITECOINS?
Lealana Litecoins are physical silver coins backed by actual digital Litecoins that you can hold in your hand.

WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM THE FIRST BATCH?
The first batch of coins are 10 LTC denominated 1/2  troy ounce  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy_ounce/) .999 FINE SILVER bullion coins. They measure in diameter of 30 mm (or 1.1811 inches).  The front of the coin uses the well known Litecoin logo. The private key will be secured under a tamper-evident security hologram as seen in the hologram design above which will be placed on the blank back of the coin and facing into the coin. Each hologram has a small window to see the first bits of the address of the coin/private key. Currently 1000 coins are in the first batch.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF GETTING THE COINS FUNDED?
Once your order has been placed and as soon as the coins are assembled they will be shipped out. Once you get them and I verify you received them I will fund the coins you purchased on the Litecoin blockchain. You will be given your tracking number for your purchase once it is shipped.

SECURITY AND PRIVATE KEY DESTRUCTION?
All private keys are generated using a modified version of Casascius' bitcoin key gen tool. Private keys are generated, printed, and then put into these coins. No copies are kept nor created.

WHAT PRIVATE KEY FORMAT ARE YOU USING?
Private keys are the using the minikey format (30 characters long and starts with an 'S').

HOW DID YOU FUND THIS PROJECT?
Purely by myself. No other investors were used.

HOW CAN WE TRUST YOU?
I have good standing with forum users in dealings and trades. I have never scammed anyone and I've been around these forums (obviously) for almost two years now. I have no intention to scam anyone. In fact, this first batch of coins was merely a test run to gauge interest. If there was no interest, no problem, I would just have a bunch of silver Litecoins =). But if there indeed was interest I would likely press on to make other sizes and denominations of silver coins.

Having said all that, if you do not trust me and what I have claimed here to be true in my intentions/operations please do not purchase coins from me. It will be less head ache for me and you.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE WE SHOULD KNOW?
Yes. This first batch as much as I would like to say is indeed without error, there is an error in the coin structure. This was not intentional and in fact I tried to remedy the problem with the mint which turned out not to be possible. The error is that the back of the coin (flat-side) does not have a small impression for the private key to reside resulting in the paper being put flat on the back of the coin and the hologram over it. The private keys will be secure but you will also notice that the hologram will have a circle imprint where the private key circle is when holding the coin at an angle to light. All  subsequent batches of coins will have the private key impression on the back of the silver coin.

WILL YOU HAVE A WEBSITE THAT WILL ACCEPT LTC AND BTC ORDERS?
Yes. It is being built and soon will be released. Likely this first batch of coins will be done manually via PMs on the forum just to make sure the process is familiar to me and streamlined (ensuring any kinks in the system is resolved before automating orders).

WHO IS LEALANA OR WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
It is just a name I came up with. No real meaning. The name is pronounced (LAY-UH-LANA).

I'd order two but I've already ordered casascius's silver BTC already. Looks real nice through!

I plan to change it up a little with the different sizes. General layout should be the same though.

Is there any way you can lower prices? Paying 3x the value of the coin (including the silver) is just really high...Casascius charges approx 2x the value. I really like the coins and I want one but the price is just really too steep. Sigh.

Well, the prices are on approximately the same level as the single coins of Casascius.

Why don't you offer bulk purchases (tubes of 10 or 20) and lower the prices there a bit? (Casascius gives a 25-30% discount for the silver-tubes)

I cant believe people are stupid enough to pay that much for these coins, especially when you can make them yourself. And it makes no sense whatsoever to have "original" on the coin, when nothing is trademarked or copyrighted..... a physical scam coin is all it is.

I agree that the coins are expensive. However, if you can make them yourself, why don't you make some and sell them a bit cheaper?

Smoothie offers a high quality & novel product, therefore he can charge whatever he wants. And as long there are no competitors and enough people paying the premium he will continue doing so.
If you don't like it or you find it too expensive, don't buy it!

Because it's a nice design, and a fun novelty thing to own. And it's not that easy to make your own coin, I think.

Shouldn't have had a cap on the orders to begin with. Now you've lost momentum and can't unload them. If they didn't have a cap on them at the start, I probably would have bought 20. :(

Smoothie mentioned that his plan for the first batch wasn't to sell out, but to ensure his coins could get to as many people as possible. And to avoid some rich guy buying out most of his stock and controlling all the coins. I think what he did was a great thing, he wasn't doing this just for the pure sake of making tons of money. Might get one in the near future, the only thing putting me off is the shipping cost. Anyone else from the UK looking to purchase any of these?

those coins look very nice but this venture does not make any sense to me.  I want to buy physical ltc coins to invest in ltc NOT to invest in silver or brass, but when those physical coins cost 2-3x the face value of ltc  then you are basically just buying silver coins not ltc.

suggestion:  since the price of ltc remains rock bottom, put more ltc on each coins to offset your cost. For example, instead of 5 ltc silver coins costing 17 ltc to buy(300%+ premium), do the same silver coin but with 100 ltc in it costing 112 ltc to buy(12%+ premium), and 50 ltc Nickel-plated Brass coin cost 51.75 ltc to buy(3%+ premium). 

Then you will actually get buyers who want to use this as what coins are intended for - cold storage/trade/ltc investment, instead of limiting just to coin collectors buying 1 or 2 at 3x the ltc value.

Already have, from rage1337, an EU-based reseller. I saved Ł16 off smoothie's price.

UPDATE: Orders have been going out. As previously stated you will be notified once your order goes out and will be given a tracking number (assuming you did not just purchase only 1, 2, or 3 brass coins). Please be patient as I get through the order queue to your order.

But that is not what they are intended for.

For cold storage, why pay extra for a coin when you can just write the key on your own of piece paper? For trade, these are not suitable because they cost more to make than their face value. And for investment, you don't need anything physical at all. It is the demand by collectors that supports the premium.

smoothie, I love your coins and I'm interested in starting to invest in silver.  I'm also a big fan of LTC and would like to order the 3 coin proof set. 

I was just wondering if you'll accept pre-printed USPS labels for shipping (you're currently asking about $80 for shipping if paid with BTC)?

Also, are your prices current to LTCs $4 exchange rate?

the plastic airtites are magnets for static-attracted dust and other stuff. I was sealing up coins the other day and during my inspection of them found one that a tiny spliter of wood was inside it - took forever to brush it out since it kept sticking to the plastic with static the whole time!

Could you list your prices in usd? .5btc for shipping. Lol. That's $360 right now.

USD pricing is an issue for the coins due to changes in exchange rate. it makes more sense to price the coins in LTC/BTC

I'm going to get one even though the prices sting a little. It'd be much better to double the LTC denominations on the coins so as to cut the premium by half. I support that idea. However I am buying this as a pretty little thing to carry around and I'd prefer to lose a silver coin and 5 LTC rather than a silver coin and 50 LTC.

It is much safer to have a paperwallet requiring 2 out of 3 papers to get activated and saving those papers all around the place rather than having one single physical coin.

Since this is physical it it something we'll probably hold for the long term therefore if bought with BTC it is a (grossly inefficient) way of investing in LTC. I see this more as a novelty item.

Coins are $70usd +Ltc balance.
The value of the balance fluctuates. But coin and shipping costs should stay the same.

On the first picture, it's the coin itself that was dirty not the case.

Go in your bathroom, it's the room where you'll have the less dust in the air. The humidity "catches" the dust.
Put some gloves on and use rubbing alcohol with a lint-free cloth.

Someone notified me of this the other week and I guess I overlooked the details of the listing.

It appears that LEALANA coins are being counterfeited on a less than serious level. They do not use the holograms on the reverse with a private key embedded but they do copy the front of the coin and claim on their listing that it is part of a "special" batch of coins that are silver plated using the name LEALANA as the source.

I never up until this point have sold any coins that do not get funded. Meaning I do not sell blanks (yet). If you come across unloaded coins claimed to never have been loaded they are counterfeits.

I actually have no problem with people using the design of the coin on the front as it isn't completely original and my work. But using LEALANA as a way to sell your product is not cool with me.

I do have a problem with the coin saying "1 TROY OUNCE 999 FINE SILVER" when it is in fact silver plated. Misleading others to buy something they think is one thing and in fact is another.

Not exactly sure why it says "25 Litecoins" when it isn't loaded nor created to be loaded.

Please be mindful about this.
