Title: Shouldn't your open bid order show up in Mt. Gox's market depth chart?
Post by: Hook^ on July 01, 2011, 10:49:59 PM
I have an open order for bitcoins at $10.00, but I don't see them in the Mt. Gox market depth chart.  Anyone know more about how this works?

Is it just goxed?

Does it matter?  Nobody really gives what is going on way outside of the market-price region. It's a waste of bandwidth and considering how slow the volume chart loads as is, I am glad I don't see your useless 10 dollar bid.

It could matter if there is a lot of open bids way down low to see what you would have to break through to go even lower.

It isn't that important, I was just curious why it didn't show up.  They must only gather the nearest 200 or so bid/ask orders to show on their chart.

But if the price drops alot over a few weeks, then my bid won't be worthless after all.

So are you ready to give me an apology for saying my 10 dollar bid was useless earlier today?

Hahahahahaha :P

So maybe I spoke too soon.  Even though the market went down to $3/bitcoin, my $10 bid never cleared.

I think that clearly means that something is goxed.  Why would the system sell to someone at $3 when I was willing to buy at $10?

I think Gox is still goxed.  Anyone know more about the trading system that can tell me why not?
